Zephyr mulled over the proposition silently for several seconds. Had he been asked that question when he was but a pup there would've been no hesitation. Of course he wants one of his oldest friends to remain with them. Not only was his knowledge and experience valuable, but Zephyr had always enjoyed the company of the man no matter the lifetime. But things were different. He was bound to Alec. Giving part of his spirit to another would weaken their connection. That was an issue quickly overlooked since Alec could quickly make up the loss. But then there was the matter of Nova's state at the time.
"Please forgive my hesitation, Lady Allune, but is it absolutely imperative that he stay with the mortals? That is to say...he is already passed."
He looked to Nova and sighed, "My friend, I treasure you like kin. However, what I see before me is an affront to the natural order. Is it truly wise to continue with such an egregious insult to Mother Earth's laws. A resurrection through white magic is one thing, but necromancy is an art that walks a fine line between maintaining balance and upending the scales."
He looked back to Cecilia and bowed his head, "Nonetheless, I understand that there is a greater need than the life of this man. My position is one that does not afford me an eagle eye view. To this I look to you, Lady Allune. If you feel it necessary for him to maintain this state for the greater good, then I will begrudgingly gift part of my spirit to him."

Nova looked back and forth a bit absent-mindely then snapped back to reality. Self-Resurrection through Necromancy was too much to do with a single mind. It'd be possible with another mind but that alone would be a massive task.
He realized the questions asked to him and in is mind went through the conversation taken place earlier while his mind was elsewhere.
The many lifetimes he had lived, the abrupt endings, the pain of losing loved ones, the joy of finding new love. There were too many lifetimes of memories within him. The strongest stood out but not only was all of it weighing on his mind, it was also putting a strain on his soul ontop of the already existing strain of constant reincarnations. And now....he is further destroying that by forcing himself to stay.
Previous incarnations burning down entire villages, put em to the stakes, others saved entire kingdoms, the lucky ones were peaceful hermits or farmers. Thief, scholar, soldier, king, farmer, butcher, murderer, herbalist, sage, Husband, wife, father, mother. He had been so much. Only one thing came to mind.
Exhausted.
Nova was just exhausted from it all. He loved Ruby and Lexi like he had loved any spouse and child. That love was real but he knew that eventually they'd die and he'd just be living another life, remembering them eventually.
After taking a deep breath, he answered.
"I am....tired. So very tired, exhausted from everything. You will all be fine without me. Kerana is shaping to be quite gifted, using forms to use magic like a conductor. Ways I didn't think of. Alec, will be so much more than he is. I am sure he will grow to be a fine strong man, capable of leading his tribe if they stop being so stubborn. Before they doom themselves."
"And Trinity....well...she's strong enough to overcome whatever the world will throw at her. There is so much I have left to teach but I think she will be fine."
He looked at Cecilia. "If you can....take me out of this cursed cycle that I cannot break myself. I fear my next will be my last."
"Old friend.....it has been nice meeting you again. A positive permanent wind amidst all of my reincarnations. But I hope to never meet you again. Because I need rest before my soul explodes.
