dakki-dono
"Apologies," Miss murmured, struggling to work through the chaos in her head, "I have not been feeling quite myself lately." What may have sounded like a vain attempt to conceal her jealousy was in reality quite the opposite. Although she had managed to keep her condition under control for quite some time, these lapses were becoming more and more frequent and increasingly difficult to fend off. It had been a long while since she'd had a real "episode," but she feared that any extreme emotional state might tip the balance. And such a delicate balance it was.
After a considerable amount of mental warfare, Miss was able to collect the scattered pieces of her thoughts and form them into something tangible. The deluge of imagined noise subsided slightly, and she took a deep breath before raising her eyes to meet Dakki's. There was something curiously unsettling about the woman's gaze, something that wasn't quite right. It was almost as though she was missing a piece; a human component she should have been given but never was.
"Dakki," she began again, this time in a much more even tone, "I am aware of the suddenness of this request, but I fear there is something I must know." She paused as a keen discomfort settled in her gut. She had never ventured to ask these things of Dakki, and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't afraid of the consequences of doing so. "Where... where do I stand with you? What is this... this thing that we have, and is it going anywhere?" It was obvious by the hesitance in her voice that she was worried about losing what they had by questioning it, but it was something that needed to be addressed all the same.
