"Mwiong!"

The mini doom cat bus train meowed and then pounced at Bobbi for consuming the bacon in taunt, going for the boobs like a cat would. That's just weird things about cats.

"Do they even have taxes here? If they do, taxes are the ultimate evil, they are everywhere."

Feather asked before eyes flickering across, starting from right then quickly to left, a strange motion to those who never actually seen Feather at a food table, quickly taking note of how far everyone has finished their food or how fast everyone is eating. Stupid habits.

"Also one more question, what is everyone's summons? Like mine, even though it doesn't look like it right now, is Doomtrain. I see Carbuncle for Kyla, ummm I think it's Leviathan for Dani though I just think some muscular fish guy for Sea King sorry. So what is everyone's else's summons? Does someone have my favourite, Bahumar? Oh Bahumat sorry odd translations."

[ Luke : Disney Castle : Throne Room ]

The long-haired human smiled at the one known as Bobbi when she made her remark about having a fellow Piscean around. It was always nice to be in the company of other fish. Well, depending on if they are all the types of fish that get along with each other...

Oooh, another person who knows Celtic thingies, he thought to himself. He couldn't remember what his animal was, but he was pretty sure his tree was the Ash. Before he could think to remark on this, his eyes widened when she used the name "Leviathan," making that two instances he could count of the name being uttered while they were seated at the table. He didn't say anything, but he planned on asking about the references at some point. Maybe they were all just Final Fantasy fans, right? It was possible. At least there were two other people so far who may or may not share an interest in his favorite Eidolon of the series.

He nodded to Feather when they brought up that he and Kyla were both Tigers, while Kyla and Feather were both Leos. Pretty awesome! Fellow fish, fellow big striped cat. And another fellow fish! From what he heard James say, it seemed that he was a Pisces as well. When Carbuncle spoke aloud, his complete and total attention was drawn to the Summon, and he gasped loudly before finally allowing himself to speak again. Of course, he had "seen" the ruby-adorned Eidolon walking with Kyla earlier, but his mind hadn't registered the sight until he had heard them speak.

"You... are SO CUTE! Can I pet you?" His attention was snapped back up when the next person announced that their name of choice was Dani; he had never actually met anyone by that name before, but it immediately reminded him of a song, as most things did.

She's a lover, baby and a fighter. Should've seen it coming when it got a little brighter.
With a name like Dani California, day was gonna come when I was gonna mourn ya...

He cut out his internal singing when she announced that her "Summon" was the "Sea King" and "Lord of all Waters." No way...! He waited around a while, arguing with himself internally while listening to everyone else's introductions and silliness. That makes two of us, sister, he thought when Dawn deemed herself "doomed to be over-emotional." He had no idea what, if anything, Noelle was quoting or referencing, but the thought of the government categorizing people by their star signs made him chuckle regardless. He nodded at Feather's questions, finally deciding to speak up and get his question-asking over with already.

"I agree with Feather's subject-change idea. Yo, Dani California?" He felt the blood immediately rise to his cheeks upon throwing the nickname at this person he didn't even know; heck, unless she was an RHCP fan, or happened to listen to the radio during the mid-Zero Years, she probably wouldn't even get the song reference. The whole idea was just stupid. But he had already opened his mouth, so he might as well keep going. "Am I correct in guessing that you've implied your Eidolon... er... Summon... is the Great Dragon God of the Sea, Leviathan?" He immediately took in a deep breath and shrunk back into his seat a little after speaking.

You are so laaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

Shut up, Critical Self, he answered his own mind.

(( OOC: Just to let everyone know, Luke pronounces the word "Eidolon" as (EE-duh-lohn). I only bring this up because I have, in recent years, discovered that that's not how most people pronounce it. Feel free to make your HA selves as annoyed or confused at this as you might be in real life. XP ))

[ Sora ; Riku ; Kyle : Disney : Throne Room Buffet ]

In response to Noelle, Sora looked plainly confused and concerned. Riku, meanwhile, narrowed his eyes, taken aback in indignation (more at the idea of a government like that than at her).

"She's--Noelle, give'em a break, Sora's going to have a heart attack at this rate and they're never going to let us out the castle," Kyle said, his attention caught by the word-for-word phrases she was using. Night Vale fan? Friends near and dear had introduced him to that back home. "What they're talking about was closer to religion, a sort of mish-mash set of beliefs about constellations, symbolism, and dates determining arbitrary things about you at the time of birth, called zodiacs or astrology. It held more significance centuries past, but in modern times was treated more commonly as interesting pastimes or loose stereotypes. There are some... interesting analogs here in some of your worlds."

"Oh," Sora said, though he still looked confused, glancing back and forth from Noelle to Kyle to the others. It was pretty clear from his expression that he had just given up on asking questions.

Riku, on the other hand, just... shook his head and smirked, going back to his breakfast in silence.

"Well my dear, without taxes, how would governments afford the basic needs of their people?" Merlin asked Feather, looking somewhat confused by the young person's random question.

At that, Merlin looked utterly flabberghasted--before suddenly shaking his head with a smile. "Ah, I get it, you're joking, yes yes, they are such terrors..."

[Nicholas <> Disney Castle <> Throne Room]

"Oh yes, very interesting. And by 'interesting', you mean the thirteen scions, the espers of Ivalice, the fallen 'gods' of old." Nicholas responded, raising a brow at Kyle's response about the zodiac. "Such as the Virgo, the High Seraph," He glanced towards Kyle, "Pisces, The Corrupt," his glance shifted towards Steven, "Or one I know very well, Taurus, the Walker of the Wheel."

The bard's gaze shifted towards Merlin, who was engaged with one of the new Earthlings about taxes. "Merlin, may I have my magic back? Clearly I am still here and am no threat to my fellow Earthlings as well as anyone else within the throne room." He motioned around to the table, but kept his gaze entirely focused on the elderly wizard.

"If you still have any doubts about my sincerity, please, do tell me. I have nothing to hide and will gladly answer any question I am able."

[[Steven : Disney Castle : Throne Room]]

The man picked away at his pancake as the others took the conversation in a brand new and humorous direction. He hadn't considered that some of those present wouldn't be familiar with the concept of Zodiac signs. The man from before that shifted the loving title of most hated in the room to him, took over and brought up Ivalician espers.

Ooh, Ivalician lore, that's always fun.

When the conversation shifted to more things that came across like politics about getting magic back more than conversation, Steven reverted his attention to those closest to him at the table, mainly Feather. They mentioned their own, but what caught his attention was that they asked everyone.

Everyone had a summon?

The power of the summoner.

Steven swallowed and cleaned his teeth off with his tongue, observing once more the living scarf on Kyla's shoulder. So that's Carbuncle. That makes sense... and that's Doomtrain? Dani has Leviathan.

Curiosity rose up in Steven. Summons were interesting topics, and if everyone had a summon that must mean he did too. What summon did he have? Did everyone have a different one? Were there repeats? Would he have the same summon as someone else? What would that mean?

His mind playfully brought up the highlander quote so commonly known as he shuffled further down the train of thought. How do you summon one if you do have one? How did one perform magic in the first place?

The concept of magic that Steven was most familiar with was... passive, at best. The real magic- debatably so according to who you spoke with- was quite, seemingly unnoticeable. The most actively perceivable magic was divination. Countless mediums of the craft existed that varied as much as cultures and religions of the Earth did. But just because it wasn't something as flashy as throwing fireballs and pulling magical creatures out of a hole in the universe, didn't mean Steven dismissed its existence back before... this happened. Quite the contrary, magic was something he viewed as instinctual. It was something you felt rather than saw, something you just did in most cases rather than studied like a science.

But here, how did it work? Furthermore- his attention shifted back to the man speaking with Merlin- magic could be taken away? It's not just a part of you?

[ Kyle ; Merlin : Disney : Throne Room Buffet ]

Kyle's head recoiled with an expression of exasperation and, perhaps, mild disdain at Nicholas' sudden intrusion. Yes, the Zodiac summons were one of the more blatant interpretations, but there were many, and the last thing he wanted to do was continue associating Louis with Steven to his face; then Nicholas just goes and strikes it right out, again.

And then the way he asked that question to Merlin!

Merlin's face scrunched up at Nicholas as he turned his attention to the wizard. He resisted the urge to point out that the young man was 'still here' because he was escorted and monitored at all times. He could not, however, resist pointing out the flaw in the second part.

His face slipped back into a more neutral gaze that seemed to pierce.

"You're no threat because you have no power, and you're requesting I unlock it for you," he said. "What have you done since your arrival to earn such an entitlement, and why must you have it now, in the middle of breakfast?"

The Guardian, still standing off to the side with Yen Sid, remained silent, watching the exchange; Nicholas could feel their gaze on him.

[Nicholas <> Disney Castle <> Throne Room]

The bard blinked in surprise. Well, fake surprise. Here was the all powerful Merlin, staring him down. Nicholas was in a very awkward position, one that he knew that he created. On one hand, maybe being a jerk towards someone holding his magic locked down wasn't the smartest move. On the other hand, being seemingly belittled was something that he absolutely hated and it was hard to bite his tongue. He composed himself for a moment, taking a few deep breaths before staring right back at Merlin.

"Okay, I get it. I'm the untrustworthy villain. I did bad things, and one good deed doesn't make it magically okay. Fair enough. As for what I've done? Nothing. We got here and went to bed after the Guardian appeared. But I can at least offer the olive branch of sorts." Nicholas rose to his feet, reaching for his left wrist. He quietly pulled off something pitch black in color, and gave it an underhand toss towards the old wizard.

"That's the dark charm bracelet I got from Ajora when I worked with the Darkwalkers. It should be connected to a good chunk of the Replicas, specifically Ajora, Azrael, Elleon, and even Alice, if she's still wearing it. So free tracking device for you."

Carefully stepping over the bench as to not bump anyone sitting next to him, he let out another breath and rolled his neck. "We can talk more about what I know and have seen from the world after I take a quick walk. I can admit that I've spoken a bit out of line, but I need a moment to breathe before I say something out of line or argue how people can still be a threat even without magic but I don't really want to step on more toes than I have by just being here. Now, if you'll excuse me, the fresh air out in the garden is calling my name so... yeah. I'm going to enjoy the first moment of actual peace I've had in about a week."

As Nicholas began walking the long walk towards the door out of the throne room, he barely turned his head towards Merlin. "And yes, I'll take a broom escort. But I need to go outside for a moment either way."

[ Kyle ; Merlin ; Matthew : Disney : Throne Room Buffet ]

The dragoon's eyes locked on the charm as Nicholas threw it. Time even seemed to slow.

That was it. That was the charm. They could reach out and contact, or eavesdrop, or...

... wait.

Kyle roiled through his memories, grumbling.

Merlin's hand flicked just so, and the charm stopped in mid-air, hovering over to his hand. He continued to pay Nicholas, though he said nothing in return. As the man walked down the great, massive, long throne room toward the exit, he gave no response or no order; he didn't need to, as there were brooms outside the double doors waiting anyway, having dropped him off before.

Some of those gathered might have looked over to Merlin or Yen Sid, but those that did would only see a small shake of their head--'let him go', in a sense. 'Let him breathe.'

It was Matthew that spoke up first.

"Man, we are great at these massive social gatherings, aren't we?"

[[Steven : Disney Castle : Throne Room]]

Steven listened to the boisterous one and Merlin exchange rejection and rebuttal, pretending to show more interest in his pancakes than the conversation though it was hard to feign disinterest in something that had quite effectively drawn attention of most present.

Are they going to do that with me, he thought pensively, they seemed convinced I'm the one who did stuff to them... does that mean they'll treat me like that? Will that take away my magic if I have it?

Maybe they already did?
Is that why I don't know?

Could explain a lot of things.
Can I really trust them?

Steven's eyes moved across those present as the gilded prisoner took his leave, taking extra care to analyze their expressions. Particularly he lingered on the one who spoke up against him and nearly drew battle lines the moment he came up the steps with the Guardian. Steven hadn't caught his name yet. His eyes moved further, scanning those in the group one by one until he locked his eyes on the Guardian still present at the head of the room.

They exuded trustworthiness, if not a tad disconnected. They were like a child, you could trust them to be easily readable... but in their presence, it was like the book was open both ways.

So, they were trustworthy- fine. Can't really doubt the embodiment of light to be anything but that. Unless it's for the greater good.

He paused. The thought lingered for a moment, Would they lie if it meant preserving the good of the whole?

A second more, and Steven decided it was no use trying to read and decipher the Guardian's motives and moral compass when their entire aura radiated trustworthiness. It was easy to be blinded by light.

His eyes returned to the other group gathered around the aggressive one. He pictured the guy holding the knife threateningly, I might be able to trust the guardian, but there's no reason I should trust them. If it's as bad as I think it might have been, even if I'm not who they think I am, people act irrationally when angry. It might not matter if I am or not, they might just try to get revenge because Louis shares my face. I've had people do a lot worse to me for less.

Steven returned to his food, or what remained of his meager meal of a pancake and 2 sausages, and finished off the sausages, I need to gain allies.

But first, Steven placed his fork and knife down, his right hand resting comfortably on the length of a spoon, his left tapping its index finger rhythmically, I need to find out just exactly what's going on. Preferably from someone who doesn't seem biased for or against me.

...Like the guy who just left.

[Dawn : Disney Castle : Throne Room]

Dawn vaguely followed the conversation as people continued to talk around her. She did look up when Nick went back and forth with Merlin then storm out.

Dawn let out a soft sigh as she glanced over her food. She couldn't blame Merlin for being unsure of Nick. However, Nick had a reason to be upset to. Considering how much he did help them with the whole Louis ordeal. Didn't he deserve some sort of trust?

Her eyes glanced over at Steven. Though he established himself as not being Louis. Though how could she see him any different when they look exactly the same? Despite what he did, Dawn called Louis her friend. She made a promise to try and remember him as such. Though Dawn never thought she would have the chance to see his double not even a day later.

The dancer let out a loud sigh as she tried to shake the thoughts away, 'Now is really not the time for that. Time. That is all I need is time.' she paused a moment and looked at the other newbies that arrived, 'We should make an effort to make everyone feel welcome, right? That includes Nick and Louis.

Dawn glanced over at Kyle as she thought of one thing the newbies were all missing. As usual, he seemed to be deep in thought and grumbling.

On a spur of a moment, without pausing to think, the dancer grabbed a spoon and a grape. With careful positioning she aimed it in Kyle's direction, before she let it go.

....And fail...The launched grape went zipping past the front of Kyle and at Sora.

"Eeep" she said under her breath as she put the spoon on the table as a vain effort to hide her innocence.

"Hey Kyle," Dawn said through the charms, sounding all the while like a kid who got her hand caught in the cookie jar, "You still got the dress spheres, right? Think we should give Luke, Song, Feather and Steven the official welcome?'

[ Song : Disney : Rooms -> Throne Room ]

The conversation, altogether, had been moving quite quickly. Song didn't feel particularly compelled to answer anything. She was more in a sit back and listen mood. When Feather mentioned taxes being the ultimate evil, she let out a small chuckle, enjoying the irony that if taxes were the big bad, then the very person denouncing them would probably be the strongest against them. Song did feel slightly compelled the clear Sora's and Riku's confusion about the zodiacs, but Kyle, addressed the answer to that in a timely fashion. The talk of summons, of course, piqued Song's interest, but as she had none, she did haven't a way to answer.

Then the casual conversation broke up. The rather sarcastic one who's name she had lost stood up and left after some disagreement regarding whether he was trustworthy or not. However, he didn't seem all that bad to Song. She didn't know what had happened in the past, but she could respect anyone who could stop, step back, and leave to calm themselves.

As she was finished eating and couldn't really decide on anything to say, Song basically lurked, swinging her legs back and forth. She was certainly trying her best to figure out how to add to the conversation but, kind of permeated every angle she tried. That was about when she saw a grape sail across the room right for the protagonist of this strange universe Song found herself trapped in. She watched in wide-eyed anticipation of whether the grape would land or not.

[ Kyle ; Sora : Disney : Throne Room Buffet ]

As the grape flew past his face, Kyle's reflexes kicked into high gear and he instinctively recoiled back with a sharp inhale, body flaring up with colored circuits as he caught himself from falling back.

Sora, meanwhile, was pinned right in the cheek, causing a terribly confused face to grow ever more lost as he looked around. "What the heck was that about? Rude."

Kyle slowly brought himself back up and, at Dawn's message, gave her the same contemptuous look he'd been giving Nicholas just moments ago.

"First of all, what the hell is wrong with you?" he mentally snarled directly to Dawn, pulling his elbows onto the table and resting his forehead in his hands; he took slow, silent breaths as he willed the magic to fade back to nothing. "Second, yes, I'm aware they need the spheres. I'll bring them out when the time's right, because there's an entire conversation to be had about what they do, from summons to charms to repair. In the middle of a tense breakfast is probably not the time for a seminar."

"Seriously, who threw that? If we're gonna start a food fight, at least own up!" Sora called out, looking down the table. He was, typically, taking things much lighter than some others.

"No food fights."

"Oh. Okay..."
