[Kyla: Disney: Hall of the Cornerstone]

Oh it was hard- And getting harder by the minute. It didn’t help that it felt like Joe was laughing at her- but he was drunk or something close... so she dissmissed it.

And then Kyle mentioned something interesting- something that reminded her of something else.

“Jadis’s Castle?..” Kyla repeated, brows raising. A
memory floated back to her. It was foggy, and she was flipped on her front so some of it didn’t make a lot of sense.
Determined though, to not let the image fade Kyla actually began sketching what pieces she recalled onto the blank page in her book.
It was a distorted sketch of things from a tilted angle. There was a window, a wall, she could recall seeing bits of Carbuncle moving around and over her back. It was hard to see since everything was partially obscured by the bed covers and silken sheets. Someone else was in the room though... someone was talking.

That was it though, the memory was too hazy, no doubt because of how injured she was, Kyla wasn't entirely concious. It was like a fevered dream. But now that she thought about it- right in the middle of battle Kyle said?

“-you mean after the explosion? Before the fight with that entity..?”

She looked up from her page to look at the phantasmal projection of her own piece of Louis. Her brow creased- Kyla knew it would someday come to this, but she had no idea it would be so soon! After only arguing about the issue hours ago, now the artist felt it would be time to decide.

Was Kyla going to fight the evil part of Louis still walking around, hell bent on destroying everything?
Kyla was glad Kyle and Joe were talking; she didn’t want to be asked that question again- not yet.

Could she kill Louis if it came down to it.

No one would ask Kairi such a thing, they knew the princess of heart couldn’t possibly do it, so why was she forced to? Because she had the power to fight? Because she was an earthling? Kyla was just expected to kill if the need was great enough?
If Kyla was honest with herself, the answer really depended on who or ‘what’ she was fighting.

The bottom line remained though, she wanted to save what was left of Louis.

Perhaps, if this part of him was erased, the rest of who Louis was could come back together? Like how nobodies supposedly could, if their heartless were destroyed- but, this wasn’t the same case here. There was no garantee.

Damnit she hated it!

Even if she lied, or told the truth- Saying- and DOING were two very different things. Even the most resolute man could be there in the moment, and about to pull the trigger could hesitate! It wasn't fair- it wasn't fair- it wasn't fair!
She wasn't a soilder!

Kyla just stared at nothing it seemed this whole time, that soft smile as shallow as they could possibly come.

[Joe: Disney: Hall of the Cornerstone]

Joe had to shake his head at Bobbi and Merlin. "Not that drunk and already sobering up."

Of course, then the conversation shifted to Louis, and Joe's face went dark with bitter memory and seething anger. Right, that guy who wanted them all dead. How wonderful they were dealing with him, who seemed so far gone already that Joe....

"Uh, wrong battle, bad wording on my part," Kyle mentioned, correcting Kyla. "Louis was actually physically with us for awhile this morning, right? But he took a different ship than the Pearl and... long story. Basically, just before the two sea battles started, that's when he vanished--and that's when he sent out those specter shard things."

He stood, brushing his pants off and stretching. His face seemed to relax a little but there was still a hint of bitterness on it. "Right, well. Guess that means I'm going. Of course anyone is welcome to come but it's definitely not going to be mandatory. This is risky, especially considering you people are getting ready to attempt reason with a madman." He raised his hand as if to stop any protest before anyone even took a breath. "Yes, I'm calling him that because he wanted us all dead, I'm pretty sure. Especially Kyle."

He let out a small sigh. "It's also not going to be mandatory because...." He trailed off again, turning his head and staring deep into the cornerstone as if searching for the courage to finish the sentence.

"Because if it doesn't work, we will need to fight. We will need to kill to stop the danger. The Avatar of Mateus is too much of a threat to leave running around, not just to us but to worlds." He closed his eyes, licked his lips, then took a big breath.

"He may be an Earthling but our lives right now are more important to us than his life is. Maybe not morally, but...if necessary I will do what needs to be done. If that can't be stomached by anyone, they shouldn't be coming along, and I don't blame them.

His face went to looking less bitter and more tired. Did he say the right things? The wrong? Who was going to hate him for it? Like him? Were they going to help save anyone, or just force them into solitary actions because they didn't agree with him? It was a moment like this that made Joe fully realize that he was making large decisions, decisions over people's lives, and he hoped that nothing he did came back to bite him in the a** later.

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Hall of the Cornerstone}

Three times (she counted), Bobbi opened her mouth to say something. Three times she closed it again, letting Kyla and Joe finish what they had to say. Once Joe was done speaking, Bobbi heaved a heavy sigh, and met the eyes of the others. Well, of Kyle and Joe. Kyla was still either behind or beside her or otherwise outside of her peripheral vision, and either way, it would take a lot of head craning to look into the pictomancer's eyes.

"I'm going," she stated, unusually serious. She stood hip-shot with her arms crossed under her breasts, every line of her posture radiating stubbornness and determination. "I made a vow in the hangar before the parade. That I'd do what I could to help Louis. But I'm also prepared to kill him if it comes down to it. My… Louis fragment at that time asked me if I could; well, it won't be the first time, and it certainly won't be the last. I was quite prepared to off Ajora as soon as we got all the info we could off of him. …turns out there was no need to wait for that to happen."The last bit was added with a somewhat sheepish expression, her eyes darting to Kyle for a moment. She blushed a little, and freed one arm from their crossed position to rub at the back of her neck.

"Although, um, speaking of my Louis fragment. I… kind of tried to talk to him earlier. Before my nap with Xabi. It, um, it didn't go well. I think I need reinforcements."

[Kyla: Disney: Hall of the Cornerstone]

“Oh, I see.” Kyla blinked in susprise at Kyle's response. So the evil body Louis was actually something they encountered in the flesh that same day? Lame.

She turned the page with her sketches on it, and began drawing something else.

“So these shards he sent out. I wonder how many we have right now.” She glanced to Bobbi- “ It appears you had, have, currently still- have one? “ Glancing to her own, in his strange semi-human state, always there, always supporting in the only way he could- Kyla finally swallowed and nods, “- So do I. but we sort of figured that out already.”

Thinking back to the drop, and even before that-
“So that’s why I’m going, even if everyone says I shouldn’t. I’m going-say what you want about this not being mandatory Joe, but there is- no choice- in this for me. This is something I have to do.”

I promised too.

And if in the end all there is left is the piece I have- I’ll keep it safe, forever.
She drew a heavy sigh. She was tried. So very tried, and once again, she was going head first in the next fight. She’d have to find a way to replenish her power, may be Yen Sid could do something about that?

Kyla just started reasoning it was like one of her horrible deadlines. Yeah. When she would stay up for almost 3-4 days! She could do amazing things under pressure. This would be no different.
"..hmmm I'll need to do something to replenish my power, this isn't the first time I've burnt the midnight oil for more then a day. Justa nother day in the office for me." She forced another smile and tapped her qwill to her head.

[[ Louis? : Disney : Inside Kyle/Kyla - Hall of the Cornerstone ]]

The angel next to Kyle, listened to Joe proceeded to talk about killing Louis, obvious contempt washing over Joe's face as the young man did so. In response, the boy simply mused morbidly, "Oooop, there it is."

The boy had been warned, but this was their leader, talk about an example setter. Reasoning was foolish, or so this Joe-guy, made it painfully obvious he believed. Still, his later commentary wasn't wrong in the slightest. If reason failed, save lives and kill the ********. even the angel-boy himself, supposed byproduct of the other Louis was nodding his head knowingly. But... that was one phantom...

The bestial young man behind Kyla, had been narrowing his gaze at Joe. As he'd spoken, his sometimes not-so-light jabs at Kyla, or so he had perceived them to be, did not go overlooked and his voice had risen from a near inaudible hum to a very inhuman growl as he bared his teeth glared, held back only in that he knew nothing he said could actually be heard.

Both of the phantoms perked up at Bobbi's comment however, and waited to hear more.

[ Elsa : Disney : Library ]

Elsa nodded, her expression somewhat somber as he mentioned the growing war, but she also gave a small, reassuring smile. "I wouldn't worry about accommodations. Ever since the Princesses of Heart were brought here, the Cornerstone's protective aura has expanded greatly."

"You travelers from Earth had a similar effect, I hear," she mentioned, turning back toward the first row of books and lazily gazing through them. Most of these weren't part of her studies in the least, but it was still interesting to see the variety of subjects the library had. "Around lunch, during your meeting in the hall, there was another large expansion. Last I heard, it's even grown large enough to cover the city of Agrabah in the east--that covers a fairly large desert, and that's only one direction. The town walls might not be able to accommodate every refugee, but the light's protection makes the entire region a safe zone."

[ Kyle ; Yen Sid ; Merlin : Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone ]

Kyle watched as everyone reacted, though he watched Kyla perhaps a bit more closely. Her reactions in the hangar had made it pretty clear where she stood--and how uncomfortable she was standing there. He couldn't help but sympathize... but he knew the hard truths she'd have to face eventually, too. The hard truths Joe was all-too-easy to make clear, not that Kyle could blame him.

"Yep. But let's see if maaaaybe we can make things a little easier. And also more awkward. I hope you're ready for an introduction."

Bobbi spoke up, and brought up exactly what he'd planned to do in a moment anyway--after all, the shards of Louis were originally connections. Kyle's had been nuked, then purged by the Cornerstone; Kyla's had been all but utterly ripped out--she'd probably need to be checked, too.

Bobbi, though... had had no such purification that he was aware of.

"Worry not, my girl, I've just the thing," Merlin said from the back, giving another reassuring smile as he stood beside the stoic Yen Sid. "I can make you feel as if you've had a full night's rest. But it will only last a few hours, after which the exhaustion will hit you much harder. When you return from this, I imagine many of you will be sleeping until well into the late morning."

"Right, then it's settled. We're all going," he said, nodding. "But that brings me to something else, that Bobbi's helped to bring up."

"These shards of Louis... the way you two have described them, and with some discussion with Yen Sid earlier this afternoon, it's pretty clear that they are literally shards of his heart, as you've said," he began to explain. "And that he's not entirely evil. Kyla, you've said he seems kind. Bobbi, the first time you talked to me about him, you expressed something similar. That he wanted to help."

"With some information, both old and... new, I've composed a theory. That when Louis sent out those specters to infuse us with his dark energy, he didn't intend to also give us shards of his heart," he began. "Louis, from the beginning, was having issues with himself. It became clear while we were on the Dutchman, and later on the Pearl."

He looked to Joe. "Remember, before and after the Dutchman, he seemed normal? You might not have gotten along, but he wasn't crazy. And yet, while we were in the Negator's range and in the Dutchman, he snapped and started beating the hell out of Jacob," he recalled. "Well, after we escaped back to the Pearl and left the Negator's range, I found him below deck... practically unconscious. With darkness just sort of... leaking out of him. I purged his body, and he woke up, but he... he didn't remember a thing since the Negator came into play."

"That only leaves two options, right? That something was affecting his memory, be it external or internal. But then we found out he was the Avatar of Mateus," he said, snapping his fingers. "Without a dress sphere to keep Mateus obedient, he could have done anything he wanted in Louis' heart... to his heart. And now that I have Ajora's memories, I know exactly what he was doing--Mateus was chipping away at all remotely positive pieces of Louis and locking them away."

"I think that, by sending out these dark specters to infiltrate our hearts, Louis did what he could to make them a strong connection... and inadvertently used those broken-off pieces of his heart," he concluded. "Joe, Noelle, and Ultima nuked mine. I think that dark monster possessing Ajora ripped out most of the darkness in yours, and the Cornerstone has probably burned the rest away. But for you--"

He turned now to look at Bobbi. "Nothing has attempted to split the two of you. So all of the darkness that made up the specter is still attached to that shard. You've been safe here, since the Cornerstone would have cut the connection," he explained--he thought back to Noelle and Nicholas, but didn't say anything. It wasn't his place--yet. "But the moment we leave it's protection, that connection will open back up again. And we'll be going to face him, no less. He will use that shard... and your heart. Just like he did against that monster in Atlantis."

He seemed to bite his lip--and part of him felt Yen Sid's eyes on his back.

"So yes, we'll need to purge the darkness... but not get rid of the shard entirely. Because I think..." he looked at Joe, feeling a bit sheepish--but it had to be said. "I genuinely think they might be the key to restoring Louis and undoing all that Mateus has done. I know, this might seem like a one-eighty for me, but..."

He sighed--but it was more of a grunt than anything else. Then he ran a hand through his hair, obviously struggling with how to go about it, much to Joe's inevitable annoyance.

"Screw it, I've rambled and evaded long enough. The Cornerstone didn't just purge foreign darkness from me, but it also helped put me back together--as well as something else. Kyla, Joe, you remember the shard in that vision at the end?"

"You're up."

He motioned off to his side--and then, as if in an odd flicker, his shard of Louis would have appeared exactly where he stood. He was visible and audible now.

"Say hello to my shard of Louis," he announced. "I'm using the charms to project him to you. He's amnesiac, but I've explained the situation to him. Louis--what's your opinion on the dark son of a b***h giving you a bad rep?"

[[ Louis? : Disney : Inside Kyle - Hall of the Cornerstone ]]

The shard, as he put it, appeared next to Kyle, dressed in, semi normal clothing, but over his head, a halo of broken crystal and a pair of black wings lined with flecks of silver running through each feather. He crossed his arms, his look serious and determined, "It's pretty much just as you said. The guy shares my face, but I'm not him. What he did, what he's doing, none of it is something I can accept."

The boy stomped the heel of his boot, impatient with his own thoughts and the time it took to get them out, "If I get my hands on him, you won't need to worry about killing him, I'll kick his a** myself if I have to."

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Hall of the Cornerstone}

As usual when someone went into a lengthy description, Bobbi frowned in concentration and nodded as she filed the information away. Though when Kyle mentioned how her Louis shard was the only one still tied to the darkness that had put him there in the first place, she bit her lip.

"That explains a lot," she muttered. She would have most likely continued, except that Kyle was still talking. And, more importantly, his Louis shard was suddenly… there. Also, talking.

"Whoa, hey, keep in mind that somewhere in that mass of insanity is a good kid," the archer said hastily, a little taken aback by the vehemence in Kyle's Louis. "I mean Kyle just said that Mateus was chipping away at Louis' heart. The real opponent here isn't Louis, it's Mateus. Yeah we'll off Louis if we have to, but that should only be if he's so far gone that we can't save him. But if we can save him, we'll have another valuable ally to fight against the über darkness and hopefully restore the worlds to their natural order."

She blinked, only then realizing she had gone on a mini-rant, and rubbed the back of her neck again. She felt her face growing hot, which probably meant she was blushing, but dammit, she'd rather save Louis, despite all the bullshit he'd been pulling in her own heart.

"Uh, sorry, I'm a little, um, passionate. I mean I made that promise to save Louis if I could, and I'm pretty hung up on keeping my promises."

[[ Joe : Disney : Fairgrounds : Back Ally ]]

'So, how exactly does this work again?'

Parties had never really been Joe's thing, even when he was in a good mood. All the noise and inability to talk with anyone over anything of substance just bored him to tears after a while, especially if their was something more interesting available for him to do.

In this case, that involved him being off by himself in front of a barrel in a back ally a bit away from the big party tent trying to figure out how his new powers actually worked. Which, unfortunately involved consulting with his brand-new roommate.

'It is simplicity in itself.' The creature in his head began 'Others may control the puny elements of the material world, but we excel as manipulators of a concept. The concept: Space.'

'I got that. We are as gods manipulating reality itself' Joe thought dismissively. 'Now how do I actually use it?'

'You have not even remotely grasped the concept. You control one of the very forces that bind this universe together. Gravity is yours to do with as you please, so long as your feeble body has the capacity for it.'

'Alright then, so going by this logic, this barrel is surrounded by all sides by gravity and I can affect the barrel by thinking of the gravity around it.'

'You over complicate things with your desire to sound more intelligent to others. Gravity is weight, it is momentum, it is matter. Simply exert your will upon the space around the object as though your are adding weight to a scale.'

'OK, first of all, pot meet kettle.'
Joe thought as he raised his hand to concentrate. 'Secondly, got it.'

Joe concentrated on the barrel, imagining the space around it getting more and more dense, forcing it into the ground. And as he imagined this, a small sphere of dense energy formed around the barrel, pulsing for a few seconds before collapsing flat, slamming the barrel into the ground and shattering it to pieces.

"Oh hell."Joe said in shock. "That packs a punch."

'And that is only the beginning of what you can do, your lack of finesse aside. Now, we move on...'

[Joe: Disney Castle: Hall of the Cornerstone]

Joe's face kept it's tired look when Bobbi and Kyla both said they'd be going. Bobbi appeared to be on a similar page as him, at least in the sense of if things go south, they needed to fight. Kyla made him worry a bit, though. She seemed a little too invested in...'being good'. At least in his own mind, she seemed too focused on 'doing the right thing' versus her own well-being, judging from what she was saying about needing a power booster.

He didn't say anything to that.

Kyle spoke up, explaining more about Louis, and he even nodded at parts he could confirm. Of course, then Kyle seemed to struggle saying something, which made Joe brace for impact. Which was good, cause then he could see Louis...well, a version of him. That spoke. Which probably meant that Louis was likely talking to Kyla and Bobbi with this kind of imagery as well.

His eye twitched, but he didn't say anything to that.

'Louis' spoke next, and was weirdly on the same page as Joe. Joe was kind of confused, but it meant a plus to the monk...of course then Bobbi seemed to panic(was it panic? Joe couldn't tell but she seemed to rush her defense). Which made Joe look even more tired.

He rubbed the bridge of his nose, but he didn't say anything. Oh, he wanted to, but for once he actually knew that if he said anything flying around his head he'd just get into trouble with someone.

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Hall of the Cornerstone]

This was all happening so fast. First Bobbi and Joe obviously were more on board and ok with the worst case scenario then Kyla felt comfortable with, but Kyle seemed to have hopes for a better outcome- and perhaps in a sense so did Bobbi. When the Archer rushed to Louis’s own defense she smiled a little bit inwardly for real. Bobbi was a sweet girl, she really was, and much stronger then Kyla felt she ever could be.

Seeing the fragment that Kyle possessed was, enlightening. That appearance- she thought of how Louis for her seemed to embody elements of her summon,. And now Kyle confirmed a thought she’d been pondering. It also seemed like in contrast to hers, Kyle’s Louis possessed a slightly altered persona.
Which would make sense. If they only had a piece of the whole, then which piece did they both have?

How many were left? How many would they need?

“When…Louis and I talked, or rather... when I found the fragment that was left behind-“

Kyla flipped back in her sketchbook, loking at the images she made of Ava Mat, verses the Louis she had now-

“ I saw many things. His memories. How he ended up the way he did. He suffered so much, and I think Mateus took advantage of his despair… he ended up being molded into what we’re facing. I don’t think that excuses the ‘choice’ he made, but I do understand the level of regret he feels. It’s as if what remains of Louis scattered to the winds, fought for any way out, he did anything he could to find us in some way, in any shape or form so he could, so that he make up for what happened. “

That type of helplessness, that regret. Bound to a wrong, and action a choice you made that you feel could never be forgiven for.

Kyla understood that despair.

She lived it.
And yet.

“-but... I want to believe we can do the impossible. I don’t want to give into despair. I’m going to help save Louis. Together we can do it, I’m sure of it. I want to believe we can do this. I can’t be too late.”
She looked up from her book and back to where her fragment was standing where no one could see it.

“You said you projected him using the charms- right? Can I try?”

[ Kyle ; Yen Sid ; Merlin : Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone ]

"Um, don't see what's stopping you?" Kyle asked, raising a brow as Kyla asked to try. "Just keep it to the four of us, I guess."

Still, their reactions hadn't been quite what he'd hoped. What he expected, yes. Hoped, no. He scratched his head, twisting his lips in thought.

"Guys, can we, like, take a second before jumping to extremes? It'd be grand," he said, sighing. He glanced over to his Louis, shrugging as he conveyed a thought--

"Their good hearts, but said hearts tend to overpower things. 'Course, they're not quite as bad as Dawn..."

He mentally snickered, so only his Louis heard.

"Look, everything's going to go as we talked about in the hangar. No one has said anything about killing him before giving him his chance, I don't know why everyone jumps to that conclusion just because others say they're willing if necessary," he said, with a tone perhaps a bit too consoling, as if a parent trying to open a child's eyes. He sighed, looking back to his Louis. "He's just protective, guys. Like the rest of you would be of any of us. He and I share the same sentiment--give him a chance, but save Narnia regardless."

"The goal is obviously to try and talk him down first and foremost. Maybe pull a Sora-Tifa thing and share our lights, or even his own by-then-purified shards, I don't know, more Deus-Ex-Machina s**t," he said, shrugging. "But we have to face facts. Sometimes--heck, so far, every single canonical time that someone has gone into the darkness, talking doesn't work. Beast, when provoked to letting his dark anger go wild in the second game, did not listen to reason--you had to kick his a** first. When Riku gave into Darkness, and before he was taken over by Xehanort's Heartless, he did not listen to reason. And while yes, there was a brief moment post-possession when he was able to resist and let Kairi run, it was a single moment. Those final battles still happened. Talking to Anima? Didn't work," he said, having been informed by the wizards by this point of that particular issue. "Heck, Bobbi, you said it yourself, you tried to talk to your shard and now you need reinforcements, while in the strongest known light-infused area the world's ever seen."

"We want the heart to be strong. We want our bonds to be powerful enough to overcome all obstacles. But guys, let's not delude ourselves: the history is not in our favor when it comes to this kind of scenario," he said, spreading his arms and shrugging again. "Am I saying 'give up and just fight'? Of course not. We'll do our damnedest to redeem him. I will, and I'm the one his possessive esper tried specifically murdering."

"All I'm saying is... if we go, we should go in with realistic optimism. Not blind optimism. We go in hoping to save him... but we'll have our weapons drawn and spells ready," he explained. "No one wants blood. But if it's a question of ours, or his, then there's no question at all."

"Who knows, maybe a few holy blasts to the face will wake'im up," he said, running a hand through his hair. "It's how I helped him the first time on the Pearl--forced light energy into his body to purge out the overflowing darkness. I dunno. The key is that we all know we're on the same page--and we are. Joe even said--or implied, in his personal way, you have to understand him--that he's okay with us attempting to reason with him. No one wants otherwise--we just different attitudes about it."

"Now, let's meet yours," he said, nodding to Kyla--hoping and practically pleading with the powers that be that she understood his sentiment. He wanted to help. Hopefully, her shard understood.

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Hall of the Cornerstone]

“I have to agree with you Kyle,” the artist replied, meeting the dragoons pleading gaze-“ and in that regard I assumed ‘talking’ down actually included some form of physical confrontation...”
“-if he’s charged with dark energy, I suspect the only way to get through some of it is to tire him out. That’s usually how these things panned out in the past. I just ...”
She sighed, shoulder slumping, "I'm sorry, I don't mean to jump to conclusions Kyle, I really don't, I just know what's what some people are wondering about me ever we spoke in the Hangar."

“-if I’m looking at him KO’d on the ground, and he’s still not listening...I'd be lying if I promised right now, right now- that I’m emotionally ready to take his life. I wont know until I'm in that moment. I've never had to kill someone in this way before- so I can't promise you guys anything. Knowing me I'd try to seal him away, or something- I dunno. I want to cover every other possibility.”

'-people can say, our lives, our blood- or his.. there's no question, and I guess as a whole, us as a team for the big picture- sure, but- but in regards to myself- that's not how I feel Kyle. I can't choose myself over someone else, I'm someone who doens't have a right to make that decision. -' she thought towards Kyle.

Kyla sighed and ran a hand through her hair before adjusting her glasses- “ Let snot be deluded? Trust me I'm as ..pessistic as they come. I'm a realist actually. What you hear from me, all the time, is me trying to convince myself- for once- to not be so negitive. To not always accept and expect the worst outcome. Because, once you get used to expecting the worst- thats all that happens. You'd think, I'd be used to failure by now."

"-but- that’s exactly what you mean so. Fine. I don’t’ want to talk in circles.”
Now it was time for them to meet her own version of Louis.

Kyla turned towards him, “I’m going to show you to them now. They’ll be able ot see and hear you just like the other one. So… try to calm down. Please?”

Using the charms- she couldn’t believe she didn’t think of that- then again.. Louis was her ‘lil’ secret for a while-Kyla channeled what she could see through the charms between the four of them.

Like a veil being lifted, there by Kyla side was none other than another apparition of Louis- Kyla wished she could take his hand to comfort him but all she could do was smile reassuringly.

"Oh, well hell, if he's knocked out, then of course we won't kill him!" Kyle said very shortly after her response, and before she turned to her Louis to reveal him. He even shook his head, looking almost shocked that that's what had come across. "We'd lock him up or something, we're not gonna kill a downed man, just stop him."

"And yes, Kyla, you do have that right," he projected to her mind, again shortly before her turn to Louis. Of course, his Louis being connected to his heart, he heard both her message and his response. "First because you are part of this team of people trying to do the right thing. Second, because you are trying to save the world... he may very well not be. So you have to understand, if you die, it may not just be you... but every single soul you might have potentially saved. Every single one dies with you that day. Remember that if it absolutely comes down to you or someone else."

Of course, after her Louis was revealed, he tilted his head, poking his lower lip out as if to say 'not bad' as he analyzed the male.

... furry?

So it became pretty clear then that his hunch had been right--even if he'd initially brushed it off as nothing but conjecture. The shards seemed to be taking on traits of the summon, and judging by her Louis' initial vibe, probably even the human host as well. Interesting, but it made sense--they were incomplete pieces of a heart, linked to theirs, so the longer they latched on, the more they'd probably grow, influenced by them.

He waited for her Louis' introduction or reaction before mentioning anything.
