Perhaps we could support all of them. I mentioned divisions in the rule post, correct? We could have a mideival divison, a modern division, and a futuristic division, with realistic and unrealistic divisions in each. eek So many divisions...

ALright looks good so far. I made just two very minor changes in the rule section....I added one * next to OOC and two *'s next to IC, then at the very botton I put in * and ** and told what OOC and IC meant...becuase first off...even I wasnt sure what you meant by IC, heh. A bar would be sweet...I like that idea very much....

I have only one concern about all this.....Two people fighting to the death right?....What if neither will let themselves die...I mean its very hard not to NPC the other....for example

Arcavior - *Arcavior, with amazing speed, sneaks up up behind Leonard and slashes for his head.*

How could one possibly defend against that? But...Leonard...clearly wanting to win...would type something like

Leonard - *Arcaviors blade hits leonard in the neck, stopping amazingly, as Leonard turns to Arcavior and says "I wouldnt have done that if I were you"

Or something like that you know? Lol...basically my concern is this....how do we depict who wins?
I was thinking that perhaps we could impliment some sort of judging system, where one of the crew would read the entirety of the duel, and then decide who wins, and thus, who dies. Once the winner is decided, full puppetmastery goes to him, and he can finish off his opponent in whatever manner he desires. twisted What do you think?

I think if we do that, cut out the realistic and unrealistic. Otherwise it could get too cluttered and hectic.

And Diez... that is sick... and wrong... and I love it.

How about once the battle is over...we make a poll for the public to deside on...this is after all...the coliseum....then we take the results of the poll...and get together with one, or two more officers, and decide the victor...

Then they can destroy their opponent as they see fit...lol I love it

Heh, I thought you might.

A guy named Torment explained to me the concept of Tiers; different levels of power for RPing characters. Perhaps we could encorporate those into our strategies, and have only characters within the same Tier battle one another.

Examples...

Tier 4. Normal, everyday people like you and me.
Tier 3. Soldiers, warriors, and other suchlike above-average humans with traning.
Tier 2. Ninjas, Special-Ops members. Those just below superhuman.
Tier 1. Those with supernatural powers. Psychics, wizards, fantasy races belong here.
Tier 0. A.k.a 'Tier T' the Twink tier. Characters with absurdly strong powers. Bordering on Gods.

What do you think?

Oooh. That I like, as well. We could even announce it in the EVENTS thread (another thread I intend to make soon).

But sometimes, especially with me, I like to have my underpowered characters challenge someone that is higher power. Then when I destroy them using creativity instead of power, I get to laugh. That and I am kind of a jerk.

Plus warrior vs. mage is an age old battle.

Alright, then let's let them have free reign. We just make it clear that we are not to be held liable for anything that happens to their human warrior whilst facing down the Dragon King. >_> xp
PostPosted: Thu Sep 29, 2005 1:37 pm
Lol...well even the Human warrior can beat the dragon king, lol......it can happen damnit....

Muahaha!
Leonard makes a good point. ;3 Just to make it a bit more complicated.. I thought maybe this would help. >> Since even though there are fantasy races in the mix that give some of the characters a natural advantage against the opponent... and of course the 'age old battle of mage vs. warrior' that Leo spoke of... instead of having tiers that are divided by character race, ability, and powers, what about tiers divided by more specific rules... like...

Tier 4: Characters can only use:
Physical Attacks (without weaponry)
Ex. Punches, kicks...drunken martial arts...

Tier 3: Characters can only use:
Physical Attacks (With and Without Weaponry)

Subdivision A:
Low-Tech Weaponry
Ex. Punches, Kicks, swords, spears, kunai, shuriken

Subdivision B:
Low to Mid-Tech Weaponry
Ex. Punches, Swords, Kunai, Smoke Bombs, Bombs (No Nuclear Explosions people), Normal Guns ( colt 44, AK 47, Grenade Launcher...NOT FUTURISTIC)

Subdivison C:
Low to High Tech Weaponry
Ex. Space Ships, futuristic guns (laser beams...deadly tazers.. XD )

Tier 2: Characters can only use:
Physical Attacks, Mental Attacks, Magic

Subdivision A:
Physical Attacks, Mental Attacks
Ex. Punches, and Telekinetics, Pyrokinetics

Subdivision B:
Phyisical Attacks, Magic
Ex: Punches, Fireballs (or if you're into Final Fantasy, attacks like Fira)

Subdivision C:
Mental And Magic Attacks
Ex: Pyrokinetics, Summoning Spells

Subdivision D:
Mental, Physical and MAgical Attacks
Ex. FREE FOR ALL

Tier 1: Characters can only use:
Physical, Magical, Mental, and Abilities Native to Race
Ex. Supersonic speed, Sharingan Eye (from Naruto, as an example), Throwing lava (if you were a lava creature...eh... you'd throw lava.. >.> ) Large Lung Capacity (if you were a fish or water based race, to stay under water for a long time)

Subdivisions (getting tired of this so I'll just stop giving out subdivisons.. ><)

Tier 0: Characters can use:
Anything and Everything you can get your hands on, any spell, ability, trick, or Godlike capability

That way, if you have a character who was say, a Water Demon and you wanted to only fight in hand to hand combat, you could because there would be no specification to Race on what Tier you could be in. wink That way you're also not accused of being a racist little b*****d. Which you're not.

P.S. O_o Might I also suggest Making Different Tourny Types? Like.. Lethal and NON LETHAL? For those who luv their character too much to give it up. XD Or perhaps a tourny split right down the middle. Medics on the sidelines ready to revive an opponent after they lose if they died in combat. >>' Or perhaps some sort of barrier that would surround the body of the opponents but would only effect them on the second spiritual plane, meaning their soul couldn't leave their body, or whatnot... >.o and then medics to heal the body so you don't have some writhing should-be-dead person screaming out in agony and emotionally scarred for life.. XD Though that would be fun to watch.

^^'

Well, I was thinking that by denoting Deathmatches to be separate from normal battles, I was implying that characters would not be killed in normal battles. I suppose I should point that out in the rules. Character-killing is against the rules! mrgreen
PostPosted: Thu Sep 29, 2005 2:47 pm
I think for regular matches, people should be able to be their own judge, not need us except for certain situations. When it comes down to deathmatches, I say let their be judges, officers, and the polls. Because there aren't going to be alot of deathmatches.

I say Leonard is right. We only interfere with normal matches if there is a dispute between the two which they cannot resolve. It should greatly cut down on our workload. xp
