CHARACTER CLASSES
Trying to decide what class to make your badass dude? Can't seem to remember the wacky name on that rather simple spell? Well look no further, folks! Assembled here for your viewing pleasure is the greatest database the world has ever known!
I would like to think so, anyway.....
- Crow
Adept Rogue- Unlike other classes, its users do not specialize in a single weapon, or form of combat. Instead of practicing in the use of a particular type of weapon, an Adept Rogue acquires several forms through Job Extend, each of which allows him or her to use a different weapon type.
Blade Brandier- A well-balanced fighter. Utilizing acceptable speed and strength, it uses medium swords and katanas in battle. A light armor class.
Macabre Dancer- Balanced casters who can learn both offensive and healing magics. Their true strength lies in buffs and status effects though. Fights using sharp fans. A robe-wearing class (weakest armor.)
Edge Punisher- A high-strength attacker that uses tremendous swords. It is quite slow, however, and its range is limited to close fighters. A heavy armor class.
Flick Reaper- A medium-range class with an odd specialty. Due to the elongated and curved nature of their weapons (scythes), they can attack in an arc to repel close ranged attackers. Weak against ranged attackers. A heavy armor class.
Harvest Cleric- The defensive side of the caster classes. Their favored weapons are staves, which give bonuses to their magic and elemental stats, and can be used in melee combat, being considerably physicially stronger by level than grimoires but weaker than any other type of weapon. In exchange, Harvest Cleric staves give a much lower magic bonus than Shadow Warlock grimoires, though the elemental bonuses are around the same. Like bayonets, neither staves nor grimoires have special types (i.e. "Hold and Release", "Rapid Attacks") for melee combat. Like Macabre Dancers and Shadow Warlocks, Harvest Clerics learn spells incredibly fast, at a rate of almost 1 per job level, but learn no arts.
Lord Partizan- Their defense and physical attack stats are very high, with magical attack being their only real weakness. They're also more monster-oriented, with a lot of good armor-piercing and anti-air weapons and skills. Their skill progression for low levels is also among the lowest. Overall, this class can cause the most immediate damage.
Shadow Warlock- The offensive side of the caster classes. Their favored weapons are Grimoires, which give bonuses to their magic and elemental stats, and can be used in melee combat, although with very little effect. Shadow Warlock tomes give a much higher magic bonus and have a much lower physical attack than Harvest Cleric staves, though the elemental bonuses are around the same. Like bayonets, neither staves nor grimoires have special types (i.e. "Rapid Attacks", "Hold and Release") for melee combat. Like Macabre Dancers and Harvest Clerics, Shadow Warlocks gain spells very quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts.
Steam Gunner- Steam Gunners are the physical equivalent of Shadow Warlocks. Their shots are skills that operate the exact same way spells do, but deal physical damage instead. Steam Gunners' shots have greater range than any other physical hit, and their physical attack stat has the fastest progression of any class. In exchange, their melee hits take the same penalty as those of the other "caster" classes in R:2 in that they lack any of the special types (i.e. "rapid attacks", "hold and release") that most classes have access to.
Tribal Grappler- This class has the advantage of a very high attack speed, allowing it to achieve normal Rengeki extremely fast, in addition to very high HP. Their defense, however, is very low. They also have a very limited repertoire of arts.
Twin Blade- Twin Blades are the most balanced class in The World. They are noted for their superior traveling speed and hit rate. Twin Blades are the proverbial "jack of all trades, master of none" due to the fact that while they have decent attack stat growths and have decent magical stats, they are unable to equip the strongest armors, have lower attack growths than the other classes, and do not have access to stronger magic skills. Their greatest strength lies with their multi-hit skills. Each skill has several elemental versions, and as a result are capable of dealing massive damage to enemies weak against those elements.

GUILDS
Player-made organizations, usually with a certain goal or focus in mind. Some specialize in player support or aiding new players, some become networks for trading items, and some are focuses for players who frequent the arena. The nature, size and dedication of any one guild varies with each establishment.
Guildmaster: The leader of the guild. The quest to become a guildmaster begins with the creation of an @Home and a Grunty. The prospective guildmaster then must undertake the Guild Master Certification Event. Such events usually comprise of completing the tasks of the Grunty, effectively making the prospective leader the b***h of a small pig-like animal.
@Home: An @Home is a location in The World R:2 that functions as a base or hall for Guilds within the game. The size of an @Home depends on the guild's rank. Small, weak guilds such as Canard usually only have a building with a few rooms, while the @Homes of large guilds like TaN can rival a Root Town in size.
Grunty: Grunties are kept as pets, and act as guild mascots and "greeters" to people visiting foreign guilds. Grunties retain the same basic appearance as in the previous rendition of The World, but they are shorter, thinner, and stand on two legs. They manage guild @Homess and take on the appearance and personality of the guildmaster.
Guild Key: Members of a guild can give non-members a Guild Key, which acts as a sort of guess pass and grants them entrance to the otherwise inaccessible @Home of said guild. Members of an affiliate guild are usually given these.
Notable Guilds
Moon Tree
A guild of pacifists, promoting harmony and peace in The World R:2. It is composed of around 1,000 members who are devoted to restoring The World R:2 from its corrupt, PK-ridden state to the prominent The World of the past. Moon Tree is the greatest opposing force to Kestrel. Members are generally forbidden to PK or PKK unless they themselves are attacked, or if they are fighting in the Arena. The guild is split into seven divisions, each with its own function.
Kestrel
The largest of the guilds in The World R:2. The guild has over 5,000 members and contains many PKs because the guildmaster, Gabi, believes "that's just another part of 'The World'". As a result, Kestrel has possibly the worst reputation among non-members. The @Home itself spans an entire field, with Gabi able to create monsters within it and turn it into a massive training ground.
Icolo
A guild made up of the three Arena Emperors. It was originally founded by Antares as a place reserved for the most powerful Arena fighters. However Antares grew disillusioned when he discovered that the other Emperors valued their titles and the status it gave them more then their comrades or improving their skills. He left the guild as a result.
Medic Union
A special support guild in The World R:2. Styling themselves as a sentai force, each member picks a color upon joining as a new name. Most of the members have identical character models, favoring a Tu Tribe Harvest Cleric, though there are exceptions. All members are required to end their sentences with "~nyan!" in the Japanese version, and "meow" in the American version. The guild's mission is to roam the fields and dungeons of The World, giving support to all who need it. Aside from the one member running their Guild Shop, members of this guild can usually only be encountered in areas ("in action"). The Medic Union doesn't believe in the need for a guildmaster, several members hold leadership titles. The technical guildmaster behind the guild within The World's system is unknown.
Canard
A newbie-friendly group, dedicated to aiding newcomers to The World R:2. The guild was founded by Kuhn when he left his position of Vice-Guildmaster of Kestrel. The fact that it is a newbie-related group makes it the target of Kestrel's PKers. Leadership passed to Silabus when Kuhn left. Unlike other support guilds, Canard is rather small and lacks any real manpower.
Project G.U.
Piros the 3rd's graphic design guild. The only condition for joining, is that all guild members must be able to draw. The title stands for Graphics Umai, or "Good at Graphics" in Japanese.
Crusade
A special Arena-based guild. Its requirement for membership is being in the Arena's top 16 ranking. Their goal is to surpass Icolo and become the strongest Arena guild.
Empireo
An information guild, prominent on the Community BBS. It's members are prominent on the Rumors section of the Community BBS. They specialize in researching the reasoning and cause of the various oddities and urban legends that appear in The World R:2.
Cherubim Union A guild for players interested in mythology. Those interested in the Epitaph of the Twilight are welcomed to join.
NOA
The guild belonging to Gabriel of the Black Moon. Originally formed as a means to harass those ever-popular Crimson Knights, they now exist as a sort of mercenary group. Due to their level of expertise, their services are generally reserved for MODS and anyone with mounds of cash just laying around.
Orion Committee
Despite its rather businesslike title, this guild is simply a fan club dedicated to Saiph. Though Saiph has a Guild Key, he has politely declined offers for membership on numerous occasions. The guild is small, being composed of barely over ten players.

ARENA
The Arena is an area for PvP combat located on the Omega Server. Unlike the PKing that occurs in other parts of The World R:2, all combat in the Arena is consensual. Some guilds exist solely for Arena competition. As items cannot be used in the Arena, Harvest Clerics and other casters are considered invaluable.
There are three Arena circuits by level, called Palaces. In the Japanese version, the name of each Palace was preceded by the worlds Crimson, Cobalt, and Dragon respectively, seemingly referring to the Epitaph of the Twilight.
In the Arena, teams of up to three players fight against each other in organized matches. Successful wins earn each team points, which increase their rank in their arena Palace. After a certain period of time, the top 16 teams in a Palace will face each other in a tournament. The winner of this tournament then holds an exhibition match against the current Emperor. Whoever wins becomes the current Emperor of that palace, and will keep that title as long as they continue defeating challengers. A player can only be an Emperor of one palace at a time.
