I've caught Suicune with a Great Ball in Colosseum *didn't think it would work, but I was out of Ultra Balls* and I caught Dialgia in Diamond with a Night? Ball *can't remember what it's called* on the SECOND try. *as in, second PokeBall I used, not as in I had to turn the game off and try again*. ninja

So yeah...I still gotz a Master Ball in Diamond. biggrin ninja

Oh yeah!! I also caught a Regirock with a Net Ball on my friend's Ruby Version. He was too lazy and made me translate the brael*sp?* for him. When I did that *I ran out of all his other PokeBalls* he was freaking amazed by it!! My counter was that I should get to actually keep it since I had managed that, but he refused to hand it over even if I traded him my Regirock.

this isnt really an amazing catch, but i had a lvl 10 tentacool against kyogre in emerald and on my last timer i caught kyogre, also ive caught a shiny zubat in shoal cave in emerald.

Hehe, not bad. Actually, I don't think that makes you a n00b at all. It takes guts to attempt Mewtwo with anything other than a Master Ball, so using the Master Ball on something else is a sign of bravery. domokun

Like the OP, I once caught Moltres in a Great Ball in Leaf Green, and I too reset the game. My proudest capture, however, was when I caught Articuno in a regular Pokeball in Red. Too bad I don't know where my Red cartridge is now, or I would totally play it again. gonk

well here is a trick i learned. I would keep throwing ultra balls to catch ledgendaries but if u used a different ball at a random time it worked.

so my amazing catches:

darkrai - pokeball
mewtwo- greatball
celebi- pokeball

Oh, one time I was near Pacifilog [sp?] town, and I was surfing around, being retarded, and Latios suddenly appears. xD I was like, "Hah, let's see if I catch it." I wasn't really being serious, so I threw one dive ball and I caught it! XD It was funny.

One try, and I caught it. :3 Tee hee.

Oh, and on Red version, I killed all three Legendary birds, thinking they'd come back! crying It was a sad day for a small child when I was playing.

I was looking for a skarmory in Ruby, and I ran into abunch of spindas. and I was like "WTF WIFF ALL DEZ DAMN SPINDA!" then I ran into a shiny spinda, and i was like "WTF, DIS BE AWESOME AND CRAP AT THE SAME TIME"

The moral of the story, even a shiny spinda doesn't make it a cool pokemon.

my friend was just starting the battle with Palkia when i said watch this, grabbed his ds out of his hands and threw a pokeball at it. through sheer luck i caught it. it had full hp and everything. same thing happened with giratina in my platinum, except it was in the red hp zone.

This one totally just happened. Caught the Dialga in my diamond with a single ultra ball when it was still in yellow health.

Once when i was walking around a cave i found my first shiny. A ZUBAT! and of course i caught it x]

The most amazing catch I ever did was Mewtwo with a pokeball. It was my first run through on the games, I never gained the masterball because I wasn't big on talking with people if I didn't have to.

The battle was long and arduous one, no less. I burned every ball I had trying to catch him. I started with my ultraballs, then down to my greatballs, and I was in the midst of burning through my pokeballs when he decided to stay.

Eventually I found the masterball after being advised by a friend. I used that for Zapdos in the end. Because that stubborn SOB wouldn't stay in anything I threw at it no matter how low its hp, defense, attack, or how paralyzed, sleepy, or frozen I could make him. The other two birds were easier.

But I have to say that of all the original pokemon that I had to catch in those early years was Snorlax...I never did catch either those braggarts back in the days of Red/Blue...And eventually I just ignored them or defeated them instead of bothering to try and catch them.

On the other hand, in my current FireRed game I caught one with a pokeball. That's the way the cookie crumbles it seems.

my greatest capture/s was during a party. since most of my family are pokemon fans, they all have at least one game. turns out they were all about to attempt to capture a legendary at the same time. they were mostly different. before they attempted to throw a ball at it, since the legendaries were all at yellow or red health, my mom called us cause it was dinner time. (you know asians, they all eat at the same time) when they all left i came out of the bathroom and saw their ds/gba/gbc/and sps. i though why not try to throw a pokeball at them and see whatl happen. so with careful timing i threw pokeballs at each of the legendaries and i went to eat dinner. after dinner my cousins, ten of them to be exact, looks at their game console and simotaniously "what happened? why is it caught?" turns out i caught ten legendaries at the same time with various pokeballs.
