Ebony grew up in a life of upper-class nobility until her parents were killed by the servants. Because of her kindness for them, she was spared, but she grew to hate the land she was from. She cut ties with her land and trained with the Mercenary Corps of Fashrade to master the skills needed to kill for money. She would work alongside the best of the best until she became one of them. She kills only her targets and spares anyone else, even if they come at her with the intention of death. She has no patience for evil intention and she will do whatever it takes to keep those who are innocent safe. When on a job, she never backs down and will always see it through, avoiding as much bloodshed as possible.

Background:
Ebony does not speak of her past, not that she doesn't remember it, but because it is painful to her. She lost her family to murder and in turn became a mercenary. She hunted down the servants responsible for her family's death, not to seek revenge, but because they went on a killing spree and Bounty Hunters were unable to bring them down. She is a patient, mysterious person who speaks very little, but speaks in a beautiful and deep Russian-like accent, different to the Asian-dialect that Demons have. She has a deep hatred for demons as they were responsible for the death of her family and did not come to her aid when she needed them before becoming a mercenary. She travels on her own across the roads, riding a black Clydesdale named Dusk.

Holy Magic drains a lot from a witch when used constantly, as it is their life-force they are using. They require a lot of time resting to regain their powers. Some witches are known to go over their limits and die as a result.

Special Abilities:
Holy Magic the kind that clerics and white witches can use do have a toll that it takes on the user. They have to sacrifice something in order to heal and use magic that alters dark magic. With each spell that they use, they use their own life-force and risk their own life to save another. Smaller spells do not take a huge toll, but multiple spells back to back or powerful spells can leave them at the risk of death. They can give themselves more life-force by living on a diet rich in nutrients and lacking “heavy foods” like meat and carbohydrates (a vegan diet, in a way). The downside of this is that they lack physical strength and energy as a result of the diet that gives them more life.
Confession this ability is similar to mind control and lie detection, but it forces someone to speak only the truth. This ability is rarely used, as the consequence of this on a person for a prolonged period of time is stripping the person of their free will and binding them to be a servant to the witch who confessed them. Only someone who is completely devoid of emotion (usually from a curse) can remain unaffected by the loss of free will. Only through killing the witch would someone regain their free will.

Background:
Asteria grew up in a family that always has three children nine years apart, two children of one gender and one of the other. She is the eldest, her younger brother 19 and her youngest sister 9. Her family is steeped in traditions, her father a Senior Mage at the Academy of Magic and her mother a Cleric for the Fashrade Army. Her brother will follow in his father's footsteps and her younger sister is destined to become a Cleric, using her Holy Magic like her mother. Asteria is the odd one out, as she possesses the rare ability of confession. She used this ability in the prison system, preventing prisoners from telling lies. It is also where she came to the realisation of the side-effects of using it, many prisoners devoting themselves to her before their deaths. She would be a key part of the Maeven Council that looked over all convictions, keeping the truth heard no matter what. She eventually changed her role in Maeven to work as an apprentice for the Temples, her goal to become a Priestess. She has completed everything they have asked of her so far, her final test only a short time away. She heard a calling to stop Kamawanaiyo's return and is torn between what her heart wants and the fate of the world.
