Recently returned from a trip to the mountains Lucian was exhausted. He had spent the last month working in the Nes'serak range with a week on top to travel home he had been gone long enough to forget how much it rained here.
He had been back a matter of hours but had not had the time to change or settle yet. He had to catalogue everything he found and make sure it made its way to the archivist's for addition to their ever growing catacombs of knowledge. He remembered being an archivist he had enjoyed it for the most part but his hunger for travel and revelation had always driven him out of the halls, now he was still an archivist by title but he was one of only handful of archeologists, those that actively sought the knowledge the Golden Tree wanted.
Entering the halls his eyes adjusted easily to the low light, his El'Ven heritage making his life easier in the long run, elegant, graceful even lucky all things he had been called before but personally he preferred the little things such as his eyes being able to adjust to light in split seconds and his speed and strength, made climbing on digs and going into tombs and burial chambers far easier. Walking through the halls he passed pillar after pillar till he found the work station of the man he wanted a small collection of candles marking him out form the others that used lanterns he smiled as he approached.
"I found something you might like Julius" he announced in a hushed voice, his naturally silken voice lowered for sake of respect for the quiet halls.
"Burial rites from the second age. . .I can make out some of the El'Ven but some of the pages are quite badly damaged" he explained tugging the book out from under his arm and folding back the soft cotton cloth he had wrapped it in, keeping his hand covered with the cloth however he held it out towards Julius his smile still firmly on his face only a touch softer than it had been. He liked bringing things back for the archivist's. He preferred bringing things back fro Julius however as he seemed to appreciate, even understand to a degree what he had to go through to find some of the things he brought back.
