PAST: Pre-Arc

"Exactly! They made that choice! Their selflessness killed them!" Lucifer yelled back, his eyes blazing with fury. He looked Ryan up and down, his mouth twitching. Suddenly he grabbed Ryan's shoulders, dangerously close to his neck, and shook him hard. "You let the Council brainwash you!" He glanced to Jessica. "Both of you! The Council doesn't know what's best for the rest of us! It's time for them to be taken down, and you know as well as I that the Council has just as much blame in the death of your parents enforcing the punishment as your parents did in taking it."

Jessica strode forward at that time, forcefully yanking Lucifer off of Ryan. "Get out of my sight!" She yelled at him. "You traitor!"

"Have you gone mad?" Ryan demanded, brushing Jessica's hands off him. Then, he tackled Lucifer, gripping the front of Lucifer's shirt. "I don't give a damn about the Council; We lost our parents today because of what we did!"

Lucifer used Ryan's momentum to whirl them around, slamming Ryan into the ground. "We were doing the right thing! Your parents got themselves killed!" He gripped Ryan's collar, lifting his head off of the ground. His gaze shifted between Ryan's eyes, a snarl crossing his face. "You're weak," he spat. "You let yourself be so easily manipulated, even when you knew I was right!"

Ryan grunted in pain, as Lucifer had a larger and stronger build than him. He looked up, his eyes darkening with anger. "How can you say that! They saved your life!" he hissed, still gripping Lucifer tightly. At his last words, Ryan's hands shook as strength drained him. "You're wrong. We were wrong; We did the wrong thing, Lucifer." he said.

Lucifer, shocked, climbed off of Ryan. He stared at the shifter on the ground, his face a mix of betrayal and bewilderment. "How could you turn your back on me like that?" He asked, his voice low. Suddenly, his face was all anger. "Fine. Take the Council's side. Once you realized you're being oppressed, don't come crying to me." He stalked away, before turning around and glaring at the siblings. "This isn't over." With that, he left, never to be seen again. (Or so they thought, muahahahaha.)

Jessica stared in shock until Lucifer left. She then snapped out of it, running to Ryan and helping him up. "Are you okay?"

Ryan slowly stood up, shaking out the dirt in his hair. "I.. I don't know." he said honestly. And that answer scared him. He always knew things. He always found the answers to questions. Now, he he didn't really know.

Jessica frowned in concern. "You don't have to know everything," she told her brother, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I promise."

"But I always did." Ryan replied, gripping his hands tightly. "Not knowing what to do, that scares me."

Jessica hugged Ryan, rubbing his back with care. "It's okay, Ryan. Soon you'll be back to knowing everything. Just focus on our next plan. I say we get out of this town."

(Remember when it was the first first round, back with the evil vs good shifter houses and then the Hunters appeared? And Ryan and Jessie were all cold and stuff like that? I want them to get back to that eventually.)

( Ooh, the breakdown of emotion. Kind of excited. To be honest, I kind of like jerkface/mad scientist Ryan a lot more. )

Ryan nodded. "Right. I don't want to be stay around here, anyway." he replied.

(Same. Emotions are for the weak, muhahahaha)

Jessica snorted in agreement. "So let's get out of here," she said, taking Ryan back to their cabin. "I can see it now: a totally new life, with no shifting. Like the Hunters we've heard stories about."

Ryan nodded slowly, not as quick to follow suit in Jessica's words. "Yeah, a new life.."

(Isn't that a little quick to decide a new life, or is it just me?)

Jessica paused, before sighing. "That's a ridiculous idea," she said. "I don't know what I'm thinking."

"Does it matter?" Ryan replied, staring at the ground.

Jessie shrugged before putting a hand on Ryan's shoulder. "Come on," she said. "I think some time away from this town will do us some good."
