It's always been a source of great conversation when you put Togashi's two famous series's, Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter next to each other, and look at the similarities and differences between the two. Moni and I have talked about this over and over since she got me into the series, and I've been dying to hear someone else's opinion on the matter.
So, which series is better?
What do you think about the obvious character archetype recycling?
Gon vs Yusuke; why are they so similar, but so strikingly different?
Repeating plot devices; aka, Oh My God, Not Another ******** Tournament.
These questions and many more make up one of the most interesting conversations i've ever had about an anime series. But what do you think? HxH is supposedly Togashi's literary "baby," and when you keep that information in mind while holding it up next to his past works, well, it creates some serious food for thought.
In my personal opinion, HxH is what Togashi wanted YYH to be from the start, but he didn't have the control that he wanted. But what do you guys think?
