Kyousouka American magazines need more goodies in general. Japanese ones occasionally come with calendars, big (B2-ish) posters, figurines (!), minibooks, t-shirts (!), DVDs with things other than shitty trailers on them, etc... And they usually don't cost any extra for those things (or if they do, only a tiny bit). Japan has the technology and readership to make that possible, I guess in the US, printing/distributing technology just isn't cheap enough to make that sort of thing affordable given the readership. Printing in general in this country has ridiculous costs compared to Japan. I agree. But even if it was just something simple as a bigger poster, I'd be happy. NewType USA used to keep me happy with their posters and free DVDs (that had actual full EPISODES of anime on them), buuut since that magazine got the axe, there really aren't that many cool magazines anymore. emo
But at least the American magazines have good quality paper. The paper, binding and ink quality is just barely decent in my Asuka magazines. The pages are already yellow in some of them and I even have pages falling out of one. America is just quality over quantity I guess. XD
