Nobutaka Deguichi" Sorry, that's my fault," apologized Cameron while rubbing the back of his head. " I heard a ruckus nearby and thought he was there." " That must've been his plan," Fredrich pondered. They looked at each other then at Micah. They'd have to get serious about this. ~~~It was eight-thirty, yet Cameron and Fredrich stayed standing in front of Micah's room, just as they had for the rest of the day. Nobody tried to get near the room, nobody acted strange or pulled out any weapons. But Fredrich was observant. He'd fought Nobutaka plenty of times and knew the guy had some brains hidden behind that jungle of hair. They both paused as they received a text message from Cecil, telling them to get to the front of the hospital quickly because they found Nobutaka. The two hesitated then hurried out. With them gone, Nobutaka reached the front door with ease again. He nodded his thanks to Kaito, who was holding Cecil's phone. He'd gotten it earlier by paying a kid to run up to Cecil on his bike and swipe the phone. Inside the room, Nobutaka moved towards the bed again, hands in his pocket. " I knew you'd be a snitch," he snickered, though the look in his eyes showed that he was annoyed.

Micah KaramatMicah crossed his arms, refusing to look at him. However, he couldn't help himself at the apology. It was weak and to anyone else, would've seemed insincere, but the fact he was apologizing at all was proof to Micah that it was genuine. With a sigh, the man touched Nobutaka's arm with his hand. " How do you think I feel? You f-ck around with other people and I can't do a single thing. If I do anything, however, I get punished. It isn't exactly fair." His hand fell to the bed, eyes staring at the distance between them. " Let's face it, Taka, our relationship hasn't been stable for a very long time. When we first got together, you never would've let me go to treatment alone. At the very least, you would've seen me off. But nowadays, you aren't even there to say goodbye. I found out the cancer was back all by myself." He paused, leaning back on the pillows and clasping his hands on his lap. " What are we supposed to do now?"

Nobutaka DeguichiNobutaka stared at Micah for a while. He hated the idea of letting him walk away, wanting to yell that he had no right, but deep down he knew it was the right thing to do. Even if it wasn't, he didn't have any time left to argue. Sighing, the mobster stood to his full massive height. " Alright," he said, putting a hand in his pocket and glancing at Micah. " But I still want those bodyguards of yours looking after you. They'll take care of the cash, so you can stay where you want and anything else. Just stop talking like your time's up. If you've got the energy to still snap at me then you've got enough energy to keep fighting." he smirked. He walked over and reached out to Micah, not striking him but instead holding his head enough for the thug to give him a kiss at the top of his head. " See ya, kiddo." he whispered before walking out. He stopped suddenly at the doorway and opened it up, muttering something to Kaito. After a second he turned back around, tossing something to Micah. What landed on the bed was a toy dog with bandages on it. " I thought of you when I saw it, so I got it. Anyway, see ya." He stepped out of the room, walking off with Kaito and leaving the patient to his thoughts.

Micah KaramatMicah didn't look up as the man left, although he did raise his head in time to catch the stuffed animal. Holding it, he let himself smile a little, fingers gently touching the little bandage on the head. It was moments like this he forgot who he was with. Was it worth these moments? Was all the pain, lying, and threats worth it? He didn't know. He wasn't sure he'd ever know. ~~~ Two weeks later, Micah was finally released from the hospital. While his white blood cell count wasn't getting any better, the medicine combated the cancer long enough for him to heal relatively quickly. He still had bruises on his delicate body, but he could walk and feed himself, a stark contrast to the broken man from before. Sawyer wasn't there, having been told his release date was different for a reason. " No, I'll be alright," said the beautiful man to the smitten doctor as he offered to bring him home. " I've already arranged for my lover to pick me up." Waving goodbye and holding the stuffed dog from two weeks before, Micah grabbed his little bag and walked through the front doors, looking around for his ride.

Leon CourtLeon didn't waste time as they appeared, rushing to a nurse who directed them to his grandfather's room. He ran without stopping, bursting inside to be met by a doctor and several nurses. They took him aside, explaining the situation. He'd had a stroke that morning, having surgery for two hours to try and save him. They revived him well enough, but he was in a lot of pain. Only half of his body could move; the other half was completely paralyzed. He couldn't speak coherently, although he was still very active. Once they stopped talking to him, Leon walked over to his grandfather, taking his hand. " Grandpa, I'm so sorry," he breathed, tears coming to his eyes. " What can I do to help you? Whatever you ask." Theodore's working eye drifted to the side, looking at an array of plugs. He then looked back to Leon, his intentions clear and his working eye pleading for Leon's mercy. Leon shook his head. " No. I can't do that!" Theodore's eye teared, silently begging. The man looked to his husband. He himself wouldn't kill him, but maybe... Maybe Sloth could grant him a painless death. " Nikolai... Can you do something for me?"

Nikolai put a comforting hand on Leon's shoulder. " Leave it to me," he said softly. By the time he entered the room the doctors and nurses left to allow him to give his final words. Alone with the dying man, Nikolai slowly made his way to his side, watching him sympathetically. " Poor dear, you're in so much pain, aren't you? Let me help." He waved a hand over Theodore's body, sparks of purple falling like glitter and a refreshing numbing feeling overtaking the pain. " Who would have thought I would have been here for this, hmm? I imagine Amelia would be quite jealous - not only because I'm here for you but because I wasn't there for her during that time. Ah yes, that's right. I haven't introduced myself to you yet, have I? Forgive me, darling, I assumed you would have remembered." He looked at Theodore's face, smiling gently. " I'm Nikolai Byko."
