Cops and Robbers Health: 39/40
Voscil lead the quartet through the undergrowth at a breakneck pace. She almost seemed spooked. By what though, he could not guess. It was hard enough to keep track of her without looking for trouble as well. Besides, he was already falling behind.
Suddenly his feet became entangled in a cluster of brambles and Ephias pitched forward, landing hard on his chin. Stars burst in his eyes. When the lights, receded he sat up. Bringing his hand to his jaw, he grimaced when he saw the blood on his fingers. Great. “V-Voscil, wait!” he called but the yellowblood and the others had already disappeared into the thicket. He glanced behind him and his brow furrowed. He had thought that Voscil's lusus was bringing up the rear but she was no where to be found. Perhaps she had slipped ahead with the others.
Getting to his feet, Ephias sprinted in the direction he had last seen his team-mates. Figuring out which way they went was not too difficult. All he had to do was look for the snapped branches and torn bits of clothing. The thorns only seemed to get worse the deeper they went in. Fortunately they they made it easier for him to spot traces of the others. Unfortunately they were a pain to travel through. Literally. Faint scratch marks scored his arms and legs. Various foliage had embedded itself in his hair. His cargos were fine* but the sleeves and hood of his jacket had been frayed. Aside from the occasional sting of a patch of nettles though, Ephias hardly noticed. His only thoughts were of catching up with his group and finding Wolly.
As he brushed some leaves aside, Ephias stumbled into a large grotto. He came to a halt, startled at the sight. The walls and floor were covered in a rainbow of flora, and in the centre a beam of sunlight shone down on a pillar of vines. A writhing pillar of vines. In any other circumstance Ephias might have gone to investigate, but there were other matters that required his attention. The cavern was full of trolls. Most were children like himself, but several teenagers stood out. He did a double take when he saw a cluster of sea dwellers, and then a triple take when he realised that one of them was the Empress herself. He felt his stomach clench. Her presence here meant something, though what exactly that something was he wasn't sure. Still, even she was not the main object of his attention.
That would be the troll with the pale, glowing skin and flowers for eyes.
Suddenly, Ephias was back at the library in the Chitten Edification Outlet. He was sitting on the floor, poring over books on various shadow-droppers while Wolly huffed and grumbled nearby. He had flipped past articles on zombies, wendigores, and pancrabs to pause briefly on an image of a white-skinned troll laced with blood. He had heard of such creatures before, but had never paid them any mind. After all they were fictional. Everyone knew that. Rainbow drinkers did not exist outside the realm of fantasy...
Clearly that was bullshit, because the troll that stood in front of him bore an uncanny resemblance to the painting in the book, sans the flora. There had been at least a small grain of truth in the legends. Ephias was stunned. Not so stunned that he missed the jadeblood's acrid speech however.
Slaves. The corners of Ephias' mouth twitched. The jadeblood's words echoed so many of his own thoughts. Yet their direction did not. Revenge. Ephias' jaw tightened. For a brief moment after he had lost Wolly, spurred by his rage he knew he would kill whoever had set the trap. But then, his anger had diminished and with it, all thoughts of violence. True, he did not know if Wolly was alive or dead. But even if the latter... he would rather be a failure in the eyes of society than sacrifice what his instincts were telling him.
He could not condone revenge. Especially against those who had done nothing to deserve it.
As flames burst around the cavern, Ephias felt his pumpbiscuit warm with anger. He hated that he did not understand the background for the current circumstances. He hated that he had been left in the dark, fumbling for answers. And most of all, he hated how things had escalated the way that they had. Yet it was clear that the jadeblood was beyond reasoning; he intended to slaughter present. It was either fight or die, and Ephias had no intention of dying. He had to find Wolly and make sure that his team-mates made it out of this alive.
When the horde of lusii were unleashed, Ephias let out a cry. “W-Wolly! Wolly are you in there?!” His eyes scanned over the throng. It was impossible to find the sheep in the mass of flashing claws, sweeping tails, thrashing vines, wings, pinsirs, and petals. But then, faintly, he thought he heard a bleat. He dove into the mob. “Wolly! Wolly!” He called again. He ducked under a scorpion's stinger. A massive hoof nearly crushed him. A talon raked at his hair and slashed open his cheek. Then Ephias saw him: a few tufts of wool poking out from a tangle of thorns. He surged forward and began to rip away the vines.
“Wolly, I'm here now. It's all right. H-hold still! I've almost got... th-there!” The last of the brambles came away and Wolly was free. Ephias' hands stung where the nettles had cut into his skin but he didn't care. He threw himself at Wolly, closing his arms around him. As he buried his face in the sheep's thick ruff, he spoke gently and in the din of battle the words were lost to all but their intended.
*This excludes of course the lichen stains from his power slide down the tunnel earlier.

Saved Keeper (RP Post)
This place was just one horrible experience after another, wasn't it? Etsali just couldn't wrap her head around it. Losing Keeper, getting her hands dirty, watching the others' lusii be taken, stumbling through those vines into this. If there was a point where terror just turned you numb, she was pretty sure she'd reached it, because all she could do was stand there beside her teammates, eyes wide as she stared at Aendal and the drones being pulled along like- like zombies. She probably would have kept standing there too, through whatever happened, if the lusii hadn't come into the picture.
The sounds they made had her cringing, but it was only seconds before she'd found her in the tangle. Keeper was here! Keeper was hurting and all tangled up but she was here! Without a second's hesitation she was running, eyes on the only thing that mattered. Not the fire, not the zombies, not the monster controlling them, Keeper. She dodged through the other lusii on the way to her guardian's side, narrowly avoiding the swipe of one's claws, and then tore into the vines restraining Keeper with reckless determination.
Keeper gnashed and snarled, lashing out at vines and other lusii and anything nearby. Etsali, gritting her teeth, pressed closer to her lusus' side to avoid those teeth and kept working. "It's just me, I've got you! I'm gonna get you free, and we're gonna leave this stupid cave, and we'll find all the treasure in the world together, you'll see! Just a little more- If I just had a knife-" With a frustrated grunt, she dug her feet into the ground and put all her strength into another pull.
The vine snapped, sending her sprawling to the ground, and with the loosening, Keeper was able to move on her own well enough to shake off the rest of the loops. The raccoon dragon stood a moment as if catching her breath, then turned, lowering her head to bump affectionately against her charge's. Fur smeared with orange and clearly favoring one leg, she was nowhere near her best, but...With a great chattering cry, Keeper prepared herself to join the fray. She had a troll to protect.

LUSUS SAVED
Zindel had hightailed the hell out of there, only stopping when he heard Voscil's voice call out for her lusus. It was... a bit of a shock-- all of them had lost their lusi, and it was actually a little scary to be all alone for this... Trying not to pay too much attention to that, Zindel gave Voscil an uncomfortable pat on the shoulder and followed after her, reaching the cavern... and seeing Wrenmom, trapped in the vines, passed out from hurt. Being extremely aware of the creepy jadeblood in the middle and trying to avoid them, Zindel managed to get to Wrenmom and started pulling at the vines, hard.
He soon saw her open her eyes and stare up at him in recognition, then begin fluttering her wings for some way to get out of the vines. Zindel growled and shook his head-- "Wrenmom, stooop, you're just gonna make it worrse! Shh, I need to get you out while... it's not looking...!!" The redblood barely heard the jadebloods words, instead, tugging at them harder, hands growing bruised and tired. At last, he managed to open it just a little more, annnndd... Out she flew, landing on the ground immediately after, Zindel rushing to catch her. Damnit, she injured a wing... "Wrenmom, you idiot, don't do that ever again!" He said angrily, tucking her in his sash carefully, jogging back to his group and looking at the crazy jadeblood in slight fear. He hadn't noticed the other seadwellers-- he was too focused on the zombie-like menace in the middle of the room, and no way to escape, either... s**t...!

Odette dealt one damage. Odette attacked Aendal with a vial.
Hearing the cries of children and lusii, Odette rushed onto the scene, terrified that she was too late. Faced with a wall of fire, then a stampede of lusii, Odette was unsure of how to protect herself, let alone the other trolls around her.
The lusii surrounded her, shoving her in every direction. If she didn't act fast, the vial in her hand would be a puddle on the ground, and all would be lost. She took the chance, tossing her vial at Aendal, aiming for his face.
Just in that moment, she was tackled by a raging hornbeast. Picking herself back up, she hoped she at least landed the hit.

Vremea dealt 0 damage.
In the dark cave, Vremea had talked more with Vrykol, getting to know the jadeblood better and actually feeling a lot more refreshed... Until they finally reached the end of their little adventure. She had grit her teeth and walked after the others, following after Odette whom had rushed to the scene.
It was even worse than she had imagined, and now... Holy crap. Aendal... He was, in quite literal terms, a monster, covered in vines and... Were those flowers his eyes? She was frozen in shock for a second before seeing Odette fling her vial at him, watching it hit him directly and mentally pumping her fist. One down.
In her rush she went to help Odette, but was trampled by the lusi as well, unable to even hit anything. Great, some help she was gonna be.
