Well, the rules are set in a way that it's a possibility that judging won't be needed to decide a match; in short, one fighter can give up in various ways, only one actually being a verbal submission, the others including knockout, ringout, etc. 'Tis boring to have every match end the same way, though that'll probably happen anayway... =P ::shrug::
Basically, all a judge needs to do is read through the entire battle and evaluate who he/she feels is the more skilled, based on every aspect of their posting, such as spelling, grammar punctuation, along with the RPing style, as far as how well they played their character. Four others will do the same; Deity collects the decisions, using them to decide the winner.
....as far as time availablity, it'd be nice if you could get it done as soon as possible (after having the battle link sent to you), but the chances that you yourself will have to judge every single match are unlikely.
