"For a new beginning
For a turnaround
Our heads are spinning
And we won't calm down
We're a wall in motion
Or a change is now walk in the park
What comes around
Goes around
You better watch out
We're the children of the dark

We're nothing like you, we're true and free
We're nothing like you but you can't see
We're nothing like you and all the rest
We're nothing like you

We're the children of the dark"

Erik Leroux

Erik had only woken up once or twice during the night, which was decidedly fewer times than normal but perhaps this was because he finally had a nice bed in which to sleep, and each time he had espied the cat mural out of the corner of his eye and nearly gone into cardiac arrest as he made to defend himself from the gigantic predator. Each time he felt dumb afterwards, but his avian leanings had schooled him well. He was used to waking up early between his current work schedule and having to leave whatever shelter he had found before it became inhabited (during his street days, of course), he normally would have gotten up around the same time Ay had. But this was a freaking comfortable bed, and he had his own room, and for once his stomach wasn't pleading for food from the moment he even thought about awaking. As lame as it sounded, this was a paradise for him. He couldn't exactly put his finger on it, but something about Ayluin made him feel...less paranoid perhaps? Of course he was still on his guard and very careful about what he said, but he didn't feel the same compulsion to know the location of all exits, and keep constant vigilance. Couple that with creature comforts, and he became a genuine force of lethargy. For half a second he had a slight pinch of motivation to get up, but he heard Ay in the shower, which meant he couldn't enter the room, which totally defeated the purpose of rising. Though unfortunately he was rather sensitive to noise, well, noise that suggested there was someone nearby, so it wasn't like he was about to fall asleep again. But that was fine, he could just sprawl out on the bed and allow it to swallow him whole. Yep, that was a nice way to spend a morning. Even after he heard Ay leave the bathroom and head downstairs, he just couldn't bring himself to ending the bed's embrace. Krotak just rolled his eyes and flew downstairs to see what the Glowworm was up to. Krotak watched for a moment, curious what sort of meal was being made and whether or not it was going to be for all of them. The stack seemed to suggest a group meal, though he'd be willing to bet that the half-idiot could down all of that on his own if he wanted. "Good morning, Glowworm. I see you are making pancakes for us, thanks. The half-idiot should be here soon, saying his laziness doesn't get the better of him." So much for asking.

Eventually the scent wafted upstairs and into the guest bedroom, finally rousing Erik out of his comfortable stupor. He got up and got ready, taking his second real shower in a row. Now that was class! He wasn't nearly so particular with his hair as Ay was, so he managed to get ready in only about ten minutes. Though his hair was still dripping wet and was soaking his shirt, it didn't seem to bother him. Hell, it would keep him cooler for longer, right? He beelined for the kitchen, knowing that is where the scent must have been coming from. Even better he managed to stumble upon Ay, Kro, and the source of the miraculous scent which had lured him down the stairs. "Thanks for letting me stay the night, it would have been a pain in the a** to head back last night. i'm starting to really enjoy sticking around here, might have to find more excuses to lose track of time when I come over." Yeah, it was meant as a joke, but it was damn true at the same time. This place really was paradise and he could get used to being around here more often. "Anything I can do to help?" he asked so it didn't seem like he was such a mooch.

"These vengeful thoughts trapped underneath
Rage, scorn, misery
Payback for what you took from me
Hope, love, sanity
I heard that you reap what you sow
So here's to believing in ghosts
Now when you see my face you’ll know
You can't save yourself
Or save your soul
When you meet the man whose life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow"

When he heard Mr. Krotak speak, Ayluin looked up from his work on the table and smiled when his eyes found the raven. "Goodmorning Mr. Krotak. I hope you had a good sleep." he greeted them and if they were nearby enough he would give them soft scritches under their beak before putting the last hand on the set up of the dining table. "I hope I made enough pancakes for us all. I'm glad to hear Erik feels alright taking his time. There is no need to rush after all, unless he has to work today." the elf said before he pondered that possibility. If so then perhaps he should have waken them earlier! Ayluin sure hoped that wasn't the case. "I hope he is free or at least awake on time. You can eat already if you want and if you want anything on it let me know." he offered to his avian guest and opened the oven to pick a pancake from the stack and placed it on the plate next to the lower glass for the raven. Ayluin didn't mind if they began already. He would wait for Erik himself.

Soon enough his sensitive hearing picked up the sound of the shower though and he smiled a bit. It would seem they were up too. Once he noticed the water was turned off, indicating they might be ready the young man walked to the oven, turned off the warm function and took the stack of pancakes out of the oven closing it with one hand while holding the plate in the other and walked back to the table placing them in the middle of the seats he had prepared. It didn't take long after before Erik joined them as well. "You are welcome Erik. I'm glad I was able to offer. And you really don't need an excuse. If you want to stay over just let me know." he replied to the latter with a light chuckle. If they wanted to stay over again it was no issue to the elf. They were welcome to and there was plenty of space. Still he was done for now so he needed no help at this point. "I just finished actually." he said and smiled. Of course if they wanted to help they could.

"Of course if you want to help later we can always clean up together." he offered. There was really no need but if Erik wanted to help out then Ayluin would definitely not deny them that chance. After all he did keep in mind they might want to do something in return, he had seen it before at home too. The worst one could do then was to deny the offer as you actually risked insulting people if they didn't get a chance to do something in return. As inexperienced as he was in the worldly things, he was well versed on keeping social relations a good one. "For now though, I'd say let's dig in." he said and smiled. "I have placed the usual on the table for pancakes but if there is anything else you want, we can sure add it to the table." he said. As he was about to sit down he remembered he forgot the tea and he picked it up and placed the tray with tea with some cups next to the pancakes. "I can also make you some coffee if you prefer. Or if you wish to do it yourself you are welcome too. My home is yours while you're here." he offered his kitchen and house open to his guests.

HIS ABILITIES

⬤ One of his abilities is that he can grow plants from seeds. Nothing major but he can grow small fruits (berries, strawberries etc.) and herbs.

He can conjure a powerful shield of energy which blocks attacks and repels the attacker. But the more often he has to use it or the longer he has to sustain it, the more energy this drains. The same goes for how many he is protecting. If it is just himself it takes less energy than when protecting two or more. If he is to tired he can't call upon the shield at all.

He gladly accepted the scratches, it was amazing how itchy a raven's chin could get. "I did, though that cat mural was certainly in poor taste. I had to keep an eye on it lest it pounce on my half-idiot, and even he was nearly frightened out of the bed by it a few times. When he was half-asleep half-awake, of course, no ward of mine would be afraid of a picture." Soon the Glowworm was grabbing something out of the hotbox...pancakes? yes, he had heard of them before. They were a circular flat sweet bread as he recalled. The idiots would put all sorts of toppings on them, and they could be eaten either for breakfast or dessert. "Yes pancakes sound wonderful. He does not have work today, otherwise I would have awoken him earlier. As for quantity of pancakes," he peeked into the hotbox and noticed a fairly sizable stack. "Hard to say. My research suggests that teenage idiots, and half-idiots apparently, are renowned for their appetites, often referred to as 'bottomless pits'. That said, he is no fool and will be grateful for whatever you offer." He didn't feel the need to answer whether or not he would begin without Erik as actions spoke louder than words, and the moment the pancake was set at his place, he began tearing little pieces off and swallowing them down in a supposed formal and dainty manner.

It was still so weird to hear someone so overwhelmingly inviting, Erik thought. Just call up whenever and he could stay over? Who the hell lived like that? He was like a giant pale Smurf or something, some magical creature from La La Land where everything was candy and rainbows. It sort of sounded creepy, being that sweet, but he definitely could have stood a few days over there every now and then, just so he didn't have to be wary all of the time. Not even he was entirely sure what toll it was taking on him, always being on alert, never trusting people, it was absolutely exhausting and unnerving. You could really say he was 24/7 paranoid, but at least it wasn't as if he was paranoid about unlikely events like alien abduction, no, he was paranoid about a repetition of things that had already happened to him: betrayal, stupid fights, death threats, that sort of thing. "Oh, ok yeah, later works too. Looks like I'm unintentionally dodging work." s**t this was one sneaky elf. Sort of reminded him of a Brownie, appearing when no one was around and taking care of all sorts of household tasks, only this one didn't ask for anything in return. It was almost disconcerting. "No need to tell me twice to dig in," he replied with a slight smile. Krotak might have been onto something with that whole bottomless pit thing. "What you've got is good. I'm not one to look a gift meal in the mouth, so to speak." Once Ay was settled in as well he went ahead and grabbed up some pancakes for himself, pouring a little maple syrup on them, and...powdered sugar? damn, that was decadent. Oh well, he never knew when he would get an opportunity like this again, so he went ahead and tried it, even if it was probably going to give him one hell of a sugar rush.

The elf was slightly surprised when Krotak commented about the mural on the wall. It was just a sticker after all and Ayluin had understood cats were in good favor with people. "How odd, I thought people liked cats. I might need to adjust that in case you two stay over again sometime. I'm sorry to hear it made you two uneasy." the elf spoke sincerely regretful. "Teenager?" he asked curiously. Erik didn't strike him as a teenager, of course granted eighteen and nineteen both counted as such still. While the raven replied about the pancakes he was working on giving Krotak one and once the avian was eating the young man filled their glass with water. Despite his worry about them being scared at night at times though, he couldn't help but chuckle softly when they were eating right away. He had just finished with the water when Erik joined them.

"I just heard about your night. I apologize that the mural was such a problem. I had no idea it would be an issue." he apologized before he had picked up the tea and placed it with them on the table. He smiled gently when he heard Erik's remark. "Don't worry about it. You're my guest after all. You're supposed to be able to kick back." he said to them. Of course it might be different had they been living here together, but now they just stayed over, besides Ayluin didn't mind these chores at all. He was even happy to do them. It was another thing he never got to do back at the castle but could do freely here to his heart's content. The young man was glad to see that they could just enjoy the food. "You'd almost think you two never get to eat much. But I am glad to see you can enjoy them so." he commented as he watched them with calm gaze. The day before they had been eager as well. It only felt all the better for the elf to see someone getting enjoyment from his food.

He grabbed a pancake for himself as well and put some honey on them with the maple syrup. It was something he had come to enjoy a lot. Of course at home he had known honey as well as the mead. But with pancakes it was even better in his opinion. Of course the mead hadn't been a thought to him now as they were just eating breakfast. The moonelf didn't eat much, like usual he was quite a light eater, and after about a pancake or three he was done, gladly leaving the rest for the other two. If the tea was empty and Erik wanted more he would give them more. Even Krotak could get tea if he wanted. The young man would wait until everyone was done and satisfied before he would start to clean up the table so he could start on the dishes.

Krotak did not deign to explain himself. If Erik wanted to clear up the whole cat thing, it was up to him to do so. He had to admit, he was a trifle surprised that the Glowworm had such a hard time believing that the half-idiot was a teenager. He wasn't a good judge of age per se, but he didn't think Erik looked that old, and he was definitely fool enough to be one. The only break Krotak took from his work on the pancake was to get a drink of water every now and then. Seriously, this was more class and splendor than he had experienced in his entire life.

"Oh, Kro told you about that? It's stupid I know, but seeing as cats and birds are predator and prey, and I've been hanging out with birds since I was real little, I guess I sort of learned to view cats as they do. Not like I'm afraid of them or anything, most cats are way too small to be a threat, but seeing one bigger than me," he gave a slight shrug, "bird instincts I guess." Hanging out with was one heck of an understatement: he was practically raised by corvids, and they had definitely been some of his truest friends. Given the great role they played in his life, it wasn't at all surprising he sometimes thought like them. At least they didn't stay on that topic long, it was sort of hard for him to put into words exactly how stuff like that worked with him without saying he was basically some sort of corvid/human hybrid...somehow. Ah, there the elf went about the whole host/guest relationship. Yeah, sure, that was kind of what was going on here, but if Ay played host this time, it would mean Erik had to play host, and there was nothing for him to host. Hey, you can hang out in the bookstore past closing, I'll try to move the stock from storage to shelves so that you have room to sleep (if you're a contortionist, that is.) Yeah no, that was not going to work at all. Best situation he could get himself into was helping out with so much stuff that he could label his debt paid in full. But how could he fit that much work in?

His brain snapped into focus the moment Ay off-handedly commented that it seemed Erik and Kro never got to eat much. Had Ay figured it all out already? What would he do with the information? There were too many variables to formulate a solid plan just yet. "I work long hours at the bookstore, which makes home cooked dinners kind of a hassle. And you've been fixing homemade most of the time we've been here. Kind of spoiling us I guess." It wasn't technically a lie, though it was definitely an omission of the truth, but he wasn't about to say that yeah he was trying to save money so they could get a legit place to stay, so for now they were living off of rationed crappy meals. He didn't even pay much attention to how many pancakes each of them took, all he had bothered to keep up with was that he was never low on tea and by the time all the pancakes disappeared, he was most definitely satiated. That was a new feeling to be sure. He waited until it seemed that Ay was getting up before he arose as well and began clearing the table as well. "Thanks for everything, I really appreciate all the hospitality and the good care you've taken of us." This felt like such a vacation, even if he was still on alert for suspicious activity or betrayal.

To someone like Ayluin, whose people were pretty much ageless, the whole concept of looking young and actually be young of age being connected was kind of strange. Not that he minded it. He befriended Erik and Mr. Krotak because he liked them the way they were and they got along well in his eyes. Still he had not expected that Erik was an actual teenager. That meant that the moonelf was older by at least a few hundred years. Ayluin shook his head and smiled a bit. It was kind of funny to think about it like that. After Erik had joined them and asked if Krotak told him Ayluin nodded. "When I asked if you both slept well. Don't worry if you plan to stay over again someday I will find a solution for it." he promised. Hearing the story Erik told him it did make some sense. Now though, it was time to eat and the elf hoped they would like the pancakes. Thankfully it would seem that was not a problem at all. The stack actually managed to be cleaned by the time Ayluin got up to clean up.

When he mentioned about the meal though Erik had a very logic explanation. Not that Ayluin had any reason to doubt them. In fact he believed the young man wholeheartedly about being to busy to really cook. The moonelf did have some of those days when he had particularly large gardens to tend to for his little gardening business. "Hmm, I have some days like that. When I have a client for those bigger gardens. Sometimes time just won't allow for it." he admitted and smiled. It would seem Erik was taking up the offer that they could help if they wanted to and Ayluin smiled a bit. It wasn't necessary but it would mean that the whole process would go a lot faster. "It's my pleasure to have you both over and liking the meals. I'm glad you enjoy them." he said truthfully when the other thanked him. And it was a lot better than cooking for yourself when others obviously had a good time as well.

The young man brought the stuff he picked up to the kitchen and placed the dishes in the sink. He had already cleaned most of the preparation dishes so it didn't become a large amount. First he decided to put away the toppings like the syrup, honey and powdered sugar and he then started to fill the sink with hot water to prepare for the hand wash of the plates and utensils before he glanced outside and decided it was time to switch. The moonelf walked to the door and closed it before he walked back to the kitchen counter, pressing the button for the AC in passing. For him this heat was no fun yet either, but he was determined to get used to it at some point. "You're free to stay around if you want, if you don't have any plans. You were pretty overheated yesterday." Ayluin offered. He had to admit he had felt pretty worried about the two looking so troubled by the heat. It would seem they shared that condition right now. They could just do as they pleased really. Play some piano, watch some TV. Ayluin wouldn't chase them out and he did enjoy their company as well.

Excellent, the cat was going to be taken care of. He was sure that his explanation had been kind of weird, but he was practically raised by crows and ravens: they would bring him big shinies and play with him even when he was an infant. They taught him to fly, befriended him when it seemed like no one in the world cared for him, they came rushing to help when he was in trouble...basically they were his family and some of the few he could really rely upon. So of course some of their teachings and habits had been ingrained into him as well. The most annoying of all was the love of shiny objects. He wasn't as bad as his corvid brethren, but very shiny objects could definitely steal his attention away and make him distracted. So freaking embarrassing. Well even if Ay thought it was a dumb reason, he still was willing to do something about it, which he supposed was a good sign. Even better, it seemed he had accepted the excuse of no time to cook as the reason why he seemed so damn eager. That...was a teensy part of the truth, he would make the time if he had the ingredients and tools, but alas he did not, so he lived off of cheap crap that probably wasn't doing him a bit of good. Man, he could get right cozy if he had a life like this, even if he had to work two full time jobs to support it. It would be so worth it.

Erik brought some of the dishes in and placed them where Ay had placed his. For a sec he wasn't exactly sure where to jump in, but when Ay walked off to take care of the AC and the sink was left ready to use, he started in washing the dishes. A dishwasher would have been nice, but he supposed as long as you didn't make anything too crazy and didn't have too many people around, it was still efficient enough. He would leave the drying and putting away to Ay, the latter cause it wasn't like Erik knew where the different dishes were supposed to be stored. "Thanks. Yesterday was brutal, and I hear it's supposed to be a little hotter today. I'll try to slip out once it gets dark and has cooled off a bit. Back where I grew up, we might have had a snow by now. Not much, but at least a dusting." Not that he wanted snow, given there were days he had to spend out, freezing didn't sound nice either, but at least he could tolerate cold a bit better than heat. Maybe after he had had a place of his own for a few years, maybe then he would appreciate cold and snow once more, but for now memories of nearly freezing to death stuck out much more in his memory. "I'm up for anything, really. You can set me to work around the place, I don't mind, just so long as none of it takes place outside. I don't need my skin acquiring a color akin to my hair..." Well, not orange per se, but he figured that "akin to orange" would include red, right? Besides, the longer he stuck around, the more he would be able to case the place. Already he knew that Ay kept the windows open during the night, so Erik could make an entrance/exit pretty easily should he decide to return some night...It seemed almost wrong thinking about robbing the elf, but Ay clearly didn't need all of the money he had, whereas Erik could use it. Plus...Ay would probably just ditch or sell him out the moment he found a way to turn a profit from it, might as well milk the acquaintance for what it was worth until that day.

"These vengeful thoughts trapped underneath
Rage, scorn, misery
Payback for what you took from me
Hope, love, sanity
I heard that you reap what you sow
So here's to believing in ghosts
Now when you see my face you’ll know
You can't save yourself
Or save your soul
When you meet the man whose life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow"

When he walked back the counter and saw Erik already on the dishes he smiled gently and grabbed a dishcloth instead. Ayluin didn't mind with what he was left to do, he would just as easily have done the whole chore. The young man had gotten used to doing it this way since he was by himself in the house most of the time. While he dried the dishes that were done by Erik, he listened to what they said and looked at them with some surprise. "I have never even gotten close to snow. Our winters do get a bit colder but I come from a large forest. There was a dessert quite nearby too, beyond the mountain range which did keep the heat away but not all. Snow only ever reached the mountain tops." Ayluin carefully shared about his homeland. He smiled a bit to Erik. "You could say I am used to moderate temperatures. Not too hot and not too cold." he admitted. Snow he had only ever seen from the forest, but he has never gone near.

Of course even if it would get really cold he would not have felt it in the castle under his blanket. But they just didn't know the cold there. "I do miss the swimming in the lakes in the forest." Ayluin said and chuckled a bit. He missed his forest and the drow he used to spend time with at some nights at the same lakes but that was about it. The young man was getting quite settled in his new life in Soleil. Making new friends like Driz, Erik and Krotak, still meeting old friends like Yoshi whom he traveled with for quite a while before he got to Soleil. The elf listened to Erik as they spoke again and shook his head a bit with a light chuckle. "You really don't have to. I keep the house well so there is never much to do except mild cleaning And I really wouldn't ask you to work outside either considering how you came in yesterday. You're free to play the piano, read, or watch television until you feel ready to leave." he replied. Of course they were free to do what they pleased but Ayluin didn't have consoles or anything.

Perhaps Ayluin would have entertained the idea to go to the beach, were it not that it really was way to hot even away from it. The forest could be nice but it would include having to track all the way to the ferry in the heat first. Neither really appealed to the moonelf right now. And though he was alright by himself too, he would certainly enjoy the time with Krotak and Erik too. "So, anything I can get you? Or you Mr. Krotak? Or something you'd like to know about?" he asked after drying and putting away the last of the dishes. He might as well ask before closing the cabinet and drinking was important with this heat, Ayluin knew that much. And it was possible that his television, if they picked that, was different from what they were used to, so he was ready for questions too. Not to mention it was still behind the sliding wall for now. All the extras the house came with, it had been surprising to the elf who came from a society where machinery didn't work due to the excess of magic disturbance in the air.

"For a new beginning
For a turnaround
Our heads are spinning
And we won't calm down
We're a wall in motion
Or a change is now walk in the park
What comes around
Goes around
You better watch out
We're the children of the dark

We're nothing like you, we're true and free
We're nothing like you but you can't see
We're nothing like you and all the rest
We're nothing like you

We're the children of the dark"

Erik Leroux

No snow? That seemed completely alien to him, coming from a place where you could have snow seven months out of the year, but it made perfect sense that he might come from just such a place. ”That seems ok, I guess. At least you don’t have to worry about heating and air conditioning.” Well, given his recent housing situation, a temperate climate would have been nice, but if he had a real place to stay, then the snow would have been lovely. ”You should check it out sometime, snow can be really nice so long as you have a warm place to go afterwards.” That didn’t give too much away, did it? He supposed one could look at it as sort of saying the snow was nice for awhile, but you needed a break from it now and again; or it could be perceived as him basically saying that he had been stuck in the snow when there wasn’t a warm place to go. Both were true, but he would rather Ayluin assume the former. He and his siblings would build a great big igloo in their tiny backyard, or rather, he would do most of the building but the others would help. He’d make hot tea (or if they were lucky) hot chocolate for them and they would all hang out in their not-so-spacious igloo. ”Great, now I’m getting nostalgic for snow.” Those winters had been fine, but the ones while he was wandering? those were nightmarish. Never feeling warm until spring, never knowing if you’re going to find something to eat, it was all too much stress, but you were doomed if you let the weariness take you over. Kro could confirm that Erik nearly slipped under a time or two, but fortunately his loyal avian friend was nearby to snap him out of it.

”I grew up near the water, but it wasn’t something we would swim in: too damn cold. Besides, even if it was a bay, it was still connected to a savage lake. It eats ships all of the time, no need in finding out what it could do to a person.” The Great Lakes were not ones to be taken lightly: sure they epically manipulated the weather, but they also were the graveyard of a great many ships. Well, there was another lake nearby that wasn’t part of the Great Lakes. Oshkosh was situated on a lake, but that was more of a drive than ever seemed reasonable for his family. ”But I can imagine yours was a lot nicer.” Probably had sprites and everything.

Ay’s hospitality was still such a strange concept, it was like letting a bunch of kids run wild through a store and not giving a damn if they ruined things. At least he didn’t feel as beholden to reciprocate as he normally would have, he only needed to do enough to pay for not inviting Ay over, it wasn’t like he was trying to come up with rent money or anything. He hadn’t seen a tv around, but it was listed as an option, so perhaps there was one hidden away? ”I am fine, thank you. I think I will find a high perch so that I might keep an eye on you two while I preen my feathers.” Heck yeah Krotak could multitask! ”I could use some water, thanks. And man, you left yourself wide open on the question thing. I could ask you about anything, but, that would make me a shitty guest. So…do you play piano? I’d be down to listen, if you can that is. We could even do two person pieces?” He was definitely not going to pass up time he could spend on a piano. It just reminded him of his visits to the Gjoni household when Grandpa Gjoni would visit and teach Erik how to play better and better. He doubted it would happen, but if he ever ran into him…Pëllumb was the man’s name, Erik wanted to make sure he could say that he had practiced and that he was better than he used to be.

Ayluin nodded when the large raven spoke of how they would carry Erik so they could get him to a safe place to recover. The young man was careful but quick to help out to get them on the wagon. With the raven lifting the larger part, they could safely get him on the wagon and the elf got on once Erik was laying comfortably as possible. "Alright, thank you." Ayluin replied and held on to the wagon while keeping an eye on his friend just in case. The moonelf watched as the raven took off for a moment but his attention was soon back on Erik. It didn't escape him that Krotak seemed restless too, not that he was surprised. If Krotak would let him, the elf would pet him a little though he made sure to speak to them either way. "Don't worry Mr. Krotak, we will help him get better." he said, though he was concerned and worried too. Still he was not about to let it get in the way of what he could do for the other. The ride was remarkably smooth, even while busy with Erik's condition, the moonelf noticed that. His focus was now shifting to his house though as they were already there. It was incredible how the horse even managed to park the wagon in a way where they could easier carry Erik in.

"I'm ready." he said, soon after the raven told him to let him know when. It didn't take long for the horse to take off once they were off the wagon but Ayluin called a few words of thanks to the horse as they walked in, following Krotak's instructions to the guestroom. It was a good thing Ayluin had already taken care of the cat mural. He had removed it and instead hung up a painting of a murder of ravens. They were painted like flying in the sky as well as on the ground. After what he had heard that day after the first night he just felt like it would be nice to place something related to his friends instead. Considering they used the bedroom the most. Right now though it seemed already turned into a small medical room. Ayluin was surprised to see there was already warm water and bandages and the like when they arrived, but it didn't stop him from getting to work the moment Erik was placed on the bed, he thanked the raven and they left. Perhaps one day he could talk to them more but right now Erik needed him. The first thing Ayluin did was clean around the actual wounds. Once he done that it showed that the bleeding had indeed stopped and that was a relief to the moonelf.

It was a good thing the raven had taken care of stitches already though, as Ayluin would have no idea how to do those, though it was a mystery to him how they managed to do that, but that was a question for another time. The young man made sure to clean the other's entire torso to be able to make sure no leftover dirt could contaminate the wounds. Perhaps it might have been slightly awkward were it not that Ayluin was much to occupied with making sure Erik would be fine. Once cleaned enough, he wrapped the bandages around his friend and cleaned some blood from their face before pulling only the thin covers over them as it was still pretty warm. He himself sat down in the chair near the bed and leaned back as he watched the other in case they would wake up and need something to drink or perhaps even eat if they felt ready to. The only time he had left the room for a moment was to pick up the book in his own room right next to the guestroom and some water for Krotak if he wanted it before he was back keeping watch over Erik while reading a bit. He had given his word to take care of him and that was important to the elf. His intentions were to keep watch over them all night but with the sudden wake up and it being really late he fell asleep in the chair after some hours. It was a light sleep however as the worry about Erik was still there. With all that had happened, Ayluin had left Mr. Krotak alone so they could stay with Erik if they wanted to. Not that he would sent them away if they would have joined him on the chair.
