He'd meant the comment as a joke, but seeing her face pale made him narrow his eyes at her. Either she's sick, or my statement wasn't too far from the truth....and seeing the way her face paled just now, I'd bet my second thought is more on target. Guess another part of my being around now, is to make sure she doesn't starve herself. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable by saying anything about it right now, so he made a sort of snorting noise to her denying the 'poking fun' at his ears comment. "Sure~ I believe you..." Smirking, he followed her when she moved to get the food.

Amelia just rolled her eyes with a slight smile on her face as she set her drink on the tray with the food and pick it up.Wait,why did he narrow his eyes at me? Did he read my mind about me not eating like I should? Or did my face give it away by going pale for a moment there? Anyways, for now I rather not talk about it. Amelia thought as she would have to talk to him later about that and glad that he didn't bring it up.

"Lets see, where to sit..."She started as she looked for a table for them to sit down at. As it was during the busy lunch hour, there wasn't many tables free. The she spotted a small one next to a window that was a booth. She walked over to it and sat down.She was starting to feel tired but it was her fault by staying up late last night, working on her lastest artwork piece. Amelia didn't even make it to her cot that that she had down there to sleep on in case she didn't make it upstairs so she slept on the floor last night.I got to take better care of myself before I put myself in an early grave.Amelia thought before eating some fries.

His tail swished back and forth lazily, while they were searching for a place to sit. When they got to the booth, he watched for a moment when she started eating her fries. At least she's eating now. Wonder what else I'll have to watch out for, besides her not eating? Pushing these thoughts to the back of his mind for now, he drank some of his soda. Taking his burger now, Niko got a good mouthful and started chewing. His ears twitched happily as he ate. "Mmm, I think my stomach has found Heaven. Yum~"

Amelia watched him eat his burger and noticed his twitching ears. That's cute how his ears were twitching like that, he must be in a good mood then.She thought after he made his comment about his stomach has found Heaven. Then she started to eat her own burger as well. It was better than the last time that she got it as they didn't go heavy on the steak sauce like last time."Mmm, the burger is better that the last time I got it here. Last time, they put too much steak sauce on the burger."Amelia said after eating a few bites.

"Well, that's good they didn't do that today," he stated after she said the thing about there being too much sauce last time. He'd noticed her looking at his ears just before that. Laughing in his mind, he thought how if he were standing, his tail would probably do like his ears. If he was happy, like when he started eating just now, or angry, or some other emotion, those canine parts of his body were direct indicators, easily showing how he was feeling. Some of the time, he'd curse this fact, especially if someone tried to pet him. It's not like that wasn't something good, but then he felt it would just give more incentive for someone to treat him like a pet. After a few big bites, he finished his burger and took a drink of his soda. He started eating some of the onion rings, enjoying those as well. "If you want to touch em, go ahead," he said, refering to his ears, tilting his head forward.

Amelia was only half way done with her burger when Niko finished his. She thought about wanting to pet Niko's ears before he said something but figured that he rather people didn't. But since he was offering... Amelia sat her burger down and wiped her hands with a napkin so she wouldn't get anything on his ears.Then she reaches out with her right hand and rubbed both his ears with a gentle touch before bring her hand back."Do you like people touching your ears much Niko?"Amelia asked him before taking a sip from her icee and then working on her sandwich again.

His ears twitched slightly at her touch, if he were a cat, he might've started purring, but he was a wolf, so that wouldn't happen. He almost laughed at the thought, before he looked back at her after she moved her hand away from his ears. "Well, I don't mind it much, it's actually a nice feeling." He lowered his gaze to the table, a bit embarrased about admiting that. "But, I don't like having my ears pulled, or someone thinking they can treat me like a house pet. So really, it depends on the person. I never liked having any of my old masters touch my ears, because they'd do one of the things I mentioned before, or something worse." Drinking more of his soda as he looked back up at her, "But, you're different....gentle. So, I don't think I mind too much with you." Pausing for a moment before smirking, "but don't think that means you can go touching them whenever you want now."

Amelia starts to work on her burger again as he talked about his ears and how people have treated them in the past."Of, course, I wouldn't dream of touching your ears with out your permission."Amelia said saracastically with a grin on her face and rubbed his ears again, a little bit harder this time but still gentle. Then she pulled her hand away before Niko could grab it and drank more of her icee.

Niko snickered after what she said and her rubbing his ears again. He waited as she took a bite of her burger and then leaned forward, moving his hands to either side of her face and pinching her cheeks. But not too hard. "Oh so you're trying to be cute now huh." He laughed at how funny her face looked with him pinching her cheeks. Niko let go and leaned back, finishing the last of his drink. A smirk had stayed plastered on his face as he was trying not to laugh at the back and forth they were having.

Amelia was expecting him to do something back but wasn't expecting him pinching her cheeks while she had mouth full with food. One hand went to her mouth to make sure that none of food fell out. She didn't begin chewing her food again until he had let go of her cheeks. Then she laught after swallowing the food. She was enjoying spending time with Niko a lot more than she thought she would."So, we need some new clothes for you while we're out. Anything else you want to get or might need to get before going back to my place?"Amelia asked him with a smile on her face before finishing her burger and fries.

Niko was silent, as he thought of what else he might need. He didn't need any weapons or anything for the purpose of being a bodyguard. Niko could do enough damage with just his claws and fangs. But, there was one thing..."Actually, there is one other thing." Fishing into his pocket, he pulled out a cross pendant (the one hanging from his neck in the pic). "I need a new chain for this, so it doesn't get lost." It was a gift from years ago, that he always wore.

"Actually, I have some chains in my gallery that might work. We can check there first and if you don't find one that fits your fancy, we're go look for one while getting you some clothes."Amelia said as she looked at his cross pendant from afar. She thought about asking when and where it came from thought better of it as she would let him tell her about it instead.I do wonder if there was someone special that he left behind when he was put into this damn slave system that they have.It separates families and loved ones apart from one another and its really shameful. I'm glad that I could get one out of that hell hole. I wonder if I should try to find anyone in his family to let them know that's he's still alive at least. She thought as she then spotted someone she rather not talk to."Let's get out of here before I have to speak nicely to someone I really do not want to speak to."She said as she put all their trash on the tray, grabbed her purse and got up to throw it away. Then she came back to the table for her drink and the headed for the closest exit, hoping that Ryu Yukio Toshi wouldn't come speak to her.

"Alright then." When Amelia looked over at the pendant, he could see in her eyes that she wanted to ask him about it. Picking the pendant up, he put it safely into his pocket, before turning his head and looking where Amelia was looking. Studying the guy's face when he looked at him, Niko made sure he'd remember this person if he'd ever need to. Getting up, he followed her to the exit, wondering what went on between Amelia and this guy, that made her practically bolt from the place. He'd have to remember to ask her about, or let her bring it up herself.

Once they were outside and walking again, he had his hand in the pocket where the pendant was. Even though she hadn't asked it, he could tell she wanted to, "It was from my sister by the way. You looked like you were wondering about it, so figured I'd tell you. She gave it to me as a gift, years ago, before I was taken to be a slave."

"Actually, I was but was going to let you tell me and which you did.Amelia said as she reached the side door to her place again and unlocked it."I hope you can find one here that you can use to your liking Niko. This way then to the gallery." She said after coming in and putting in the right codes for the security system. She leads him through a swinging door that lead into the gallery and walks over to the jewelry counter. "Here you go, let me know if you find one to your liking or want to take a closer look at." Amelia said before before going up the stairs in the gallery that came to a louge/mini bar area for entertaining without having to go into her actual apartment area. She went over to the mini fridge and pulled out a bottle of water and laying down on one of the sofas up there.

When she showed him the jewelry counter, he looked in at the stuff there, hoping to find a chain to use. Watching her walk off, he had a few thoughts in his mind. He'd still been wondering about earlier when she paled at his not eating comment. Also, there was the guy that she didn't want to speak to, which they practically flew from the place to get away from him. He knew she probably was wondering a few things as well, and if she asked, he'd probably answer her. Turning his attention back to the counter, his eyes scanning over the chains there. There was one that got his attention after looking for a few minutes. It wasn't exactly a metal type of chain, but it wasn't something stringy either. It looked almost leathery, and looked long enough. Walking up the stairs, he found Amelia laying down on one of the sofas, a water bottle in hand. "I think I found a good one." Going back down to where he was looking, he showed her the chain when she got there.
