Etsali freed a lusus and dealt 2 damage!
Etsali startled, jumping as there came a sudden screaming from right beside her. She'd already whirled, backing up a step to prepare to flee, before she realized it was only Reemus angry at their enemy as his lusus held him back. She edged back closer to the group, listening, then nodded suddenly. "Me too!" She announced decidedly. "If we get in close enough, let's all bite him, see how he likes it!" Sure, it wasn't really her usual style (she preferred keeping a distance from clearly dangerous things), but really if there'd ever been anyone deserving of it, it'd be this jadeblood. Until she'd found some good knives, and she really intended to after this was all over, her teeth would do.
She grinned at them, spirits lifted somewhat at the idea of the thing, and then threw herself into trying to free a lusus while it was close enough. These vines obviously weren't to be trusted, so she had to be careful about it, but...Yes! The little lusus sprung free, leaping off into battle. Etsali cheered it on before turning to see where else she could help, and then laughed triumphantly as she watched another go free with Reemus's help. It was a nice distraction from how worried she was, making this kind of progress.

Reemus was a little startled to hear Etsali's voice again. He still wasn't as used to her company as he was Voscil's and Zindel's. His tired face broke out in a grin at her words, though. "See? I thought it's a good bloody idea, n' the bloke sure has it coming." Then he remembered Aendal's greenery all over his body. "Wouldn't taste good, though." Reemus added, sticking his tongue out in disgust. "With plants in 'im n' everythin'. N' he SMELLS wrong. Like he's..." Dead. That was the smell when Aendal came around. The smell of blood and the off-putting smell of something not truly alive anymore. Poorly preserved meat, basically. "Well, I'd want to wash my mouth out after, is all I'm gonna say."
The chit-chat distracted him enough from getting a good grip on another passing lusus. Oh well. There were still plenty more. Anyway, Etsali got a good tug in on one of her own. "Good show, mate!" Everyone was doing a good job and he was quite proud of the little pack.

Failed to free a lusus
"Ugh, you're right." Etsali didn't tend to think too much about smells. After sweeps of digging through garbage, she'd mostly kind of given up on that sense, though she knew Keeper always put it to good use. "I bet he'd taste terrible. All covered in plants and blood and muck." She suddenly felt terribly sorry for their lusii, attacking with their teeth all this time, against Aendal and the dead drones and other lusii. Yuck.
While she made faces, the lusus she'd been trying to free slipped away, but Zindel apparently had had much better luck. "Hey, that was a big one, nice!" She flashed the redblood a smile. He hadn't joined in on the biting talk, but she guessed it didn't seem like his style either, did it? "Let's find another one just as big!"

After hitting Aendal one more time, Vremea felt a hard weight fall on her shoulder. With wide eyes, she turned toward... the...
The queen. Oh s**t. What was she even doing here?! Shouldn't she be in her palace, away from this mess?! Her words were muddled in her ears, but Vremea understood what she'd said-- "I-I, yes, it-- alright." With almost trembling hands, she grabbed her broach and pressed it upon the skin of the purpleblood, healing her for half her health. Damnit, now she couldn't heal Odette again, crap...

Any other time, Keionx would have been pleased at the appelation. In fact, she rather liked the title: Umber Knight. Umber was a nice color. Well. She couldn't exactly help her color, but she did like it.
Right now, however, she wasn't feeling particularly knightly. Nothing she did seemed to be doing anything, and in the end, it was Odette who was paying for her efforts. She managed to deflect another vine attack coming at the small cluster of trolls with her sword, and the force of it jarred her arm and made tired, aching, bruised, and burnt muscles cry out in protest.
”I hath fared... better.” she managed, making sure there was room between her and the purpleblood for them to swing that club and not hit her or her protector. ”And thou? How fareth thou?” she asked, cautiously. Odette had said she was dangerous, but everything was and the question was this... who was this troll. Surely it wouldn't hurt to introduce herself. Somewhat. Names were nice.
”Keionx Rutace.” she said, a somewhat... cut... introduction, ”Knight in training.” She hoped the other troll would forgive her for her breach of propriety – well instilled in her by beastdad, but she also didn't have beastdad with her, and it was difficult to make a proper introduction when yelping, ducking vines, and trying not to worry about swimming, not to mention while feeling like a parasite and trying to free the miserable captives.
Heros, Keionx was learning, had to be very busy people...
