The Bridesmaid(Kyo x Rynn)

The limo had parked in the lot before a strip mall. Everyone inside could see the hobby shop, the second to last facility in the long building. "Gizmo's: Hobbies & More" read the sign. Just as Stacy said, the sign outside the small place resembled a jigsaw puzzle. "I come to this place from time to time, not too often, but enough to know what they usually have."

The four of them stepped out of the limo. "Rodger, you may stay here and watch the vehicle.", said Steph. Although she didn't intend it, she had ended up sitting by Stacy the entire trip, as Samantha stuck to Maddy. Stacy wasn't too thrilled about it either. She was staring away from Steph, and focusing on Samantha, certain that Steph was doing the same.

All of that put aside, Samantha was the first one to enter the establishment. As she opened the door, a bell rung above it to announce their presence. Maddy came in after that, followed by Stacy, then Steph. The hobby shop had many wooden shelves filled with a variety of knickknacks. There were some puzzles, some board games, some build-it-yourself model planes, even a good selection of magazines and comic books.

"Look around.", said Stacy, "They've got plenty over here."

Samantha was happy to walk around the store and browse through their merchandise. She didn't know how to knit or croquet, but she did love to put together some puzzles. She grabbed Stacy's had and pulled her along to the puzzles, "These look so amazing! Help me pick some out. Paul loves to do them too! We are working on one together, actually. Its 1000 pieces. We are almost done with it and I'm looking to get a new one for us." she looked very happy. She picked up one that had a basket full of kittens and puppies. Another one had about a hundred butterflies.

Maddy wasn't that into art. She could draw but she didn't think she was very good at it. The last time she did someone's portrait, Stephanie, she got really made and the drawing was thrown back at her.

"Wow.", said Stacy as she watched Samantha take some of the puzzle boxes, "1,000 pieces. Could you actually manage something like that? Last time I tried to do a puzzle that big, I couldn't find any two that went together. They all look the same when they're that small."

Steph idly stood from the distance. She was fascinated by what she overheard. "She's into puzzles, I see.", Steph slyly muttered, "That gives me an idea."

Samantha nodded, "Some of them look alike, especially if its a background color. But they are really fun." she picked up a box that had a family of wolves on it. Another one had a cityscape, "I like animals and landscapes the most." she was having a hard time deciding. She took out her phone and called Paul. Hopefully he was taking a break.
A few rings in and he answered the phone, "Hey, I'm glad you picked up. Listen, the girls and I are at this cool hobby store. They have a whole bunch of puzzles. I'm trying to decide which one is going to be out next project." she told him a few of the options. She was quiet for a bit, "Yeah that one works, I'll get it. Yes. I love you too. I will. I miss you too. Okay, yeah. Yeah. OK. I love you. Bye." she hung up the phone and picked up a mountain landscape one. It had a lake on it too. She went to the checkout

Stacy stood behind her friend at the checkout. She hadn't found anything that interested her today, but she was at least glad to help Samantha find something nice. "Say, once you pay for those, would you like to continue looking around with me? I was gonna check out their literature section, see if they've got any good things to read."

Samantha nodded, "Sure. I might find something else I like." she went up and placed the puzzle on the counter. Five minutes later, she grabbed the bag and waiting for her precious friend, "I think I'll learn how to knit. Can you imagine all the cute mittens and hats I could make for this little one?"

"Gee, I never thought about that...", Stacy said with a cheeky half-smile. A small child would be the perfect one to knit for. All the cute little beanie hats and sweaters you could imagine. It made her giggle a little just thinking about it. What would Samantha's creations look like on a little boy, or was it a girl?

Suddenly, an interesting question came to mind. "Hey, Sammy?", she asked, "Do you know what gender your baby is yet?" She fidgeted her fingers on a novel about wizards as she awaited a response.

Sammy chuckled, "Its way too soon for that. Wait a few more months. Like, month 5." she touched her shoulder, "But you know what? I really want a boy. I know its fun to dress up girls, but a boy would be best." she looked at what Stacy was fingering, "Still like fantasy novels huh?"

Perhaps it was simply Stacy's lesbianism kicking in, but she felt somewhat unnerved when her friend hoped her child would be a boy. To her, why would anybody want that? Though of course, Samantha was not her. She had he own hopes and preferences. After all, she's currently getting married to Paul. Stacy simply found it funny how in sync they could be at one moment, yet different at the next. Was that what kept their friendship interesting?

"Yeah, they're great.", she replied, answering Samantha's question about fantasy novels. "Just finished that Dragon Sword book series a month ago. Who would've thought it would take me years to get through it all? I was thinking of getting this book called Merlon's Revenge. It's by the same author."

Samantha smiled wide, "You should get it then! Do a pre read before you buy it, and make sure you like it. I do that a lot. Especially with romance novels. If I don't get hooked within the first chapter, I don't buy it. If it was recommended by a friend, then the first two chapters." she had a sudden look of shock on her face, "Oh, I just heard about this series, Its called Land of the Fairies. Its supposed to be good." she looked all around the shelves, "Aha!!" she pulled it out and made sure it was the first book. She gave it to Samantha, "I'm not into fantasy. So maybe you'll like it. I'll even buy it for you if you like it."

"You'd seriously do that, for me?", Stacy smiled. "Here I thought I'd have to save up after spending so much money on sandwiches." She accepted the book from Samantha, and flipped through the pages of the first chapter to see how long it was. "Oh my, this first chapter might take a while. Do you have time?"

Unknowing to the both of them, Steph was watching from behind like a hawk. She held a book in her hand, pretending to read it.

"Take all the time you need. We are in no rush at all." Sammy said as she went to go browse the romance books, Which weren't many. This was a hobby store after all, not a book store.

It didn't take too long before Stacy was hooked on the story. Pacing in circles as she read, she had only read for a brief moment, yet she knew this one was a keeper. "Yeah, I think I like this!", she said, lifting her face to see Samantha, "You think we could go to the checkout now?"

They had returned to the check out of the store, with a couple of new items in their possession. Stacy had the book (though paid for by Sammy) and Samantha purchased some items that looked fascinating to herself.

Having spent a while there, Stacy curiously chuckled. "Say, we should probably leave now before we make a third trip to the checkout." The two of them laughed together at the realization. This store just had its powerful way of selling that took advantage of whatever impulses they had.

"Wanna go round up Maddy and ... your sister-in-law?" Stacy said the last part in pure disdain. The mere image of Steph was enough to give her a headache at the moment. She had to speak to herself in her own head, saying to forget about her, so she didn't have to suffer so much.

Samantha had to laugh, "Yes, before I buy more things I really shouldn't. I want to come back here with Paul." she linked arms with Stacy and went to go find her new added family

Maddy was being distracted by all of the stuffed animals they had for sale, "Look Steph! This one looks like you!" she held up a camel, and laughed, ready to be hit or get something thrown at her

To Maddy's surprise, Steph was no longer there. She was there just a second ago. Where could she have gone.

Samantha and Stacy came in shortly afterwards. "Nice to see you didn't get lost running around here!", Stacy joked. "Well either way, I think it's time we went now. Can't be here forever." She paused before reluctantly saying, "Besides, we've got to see that maternity shop sooner or later, right?"

Steph walked from behind the two friends, lighting a cigarette. There was no rule against smoking at this store. "Why, yes. We must be going. The limo is waiting for us out in the parking lot, darlings."
