The waters rising startled the musterblood roarbeast. She couldn't see anything. and lashed out blindly unable to discern what was going on. While she sensed his presence, she turned to slow and took the brunt of one of his slashes.

Voscil could barely see, and water was soaking her sneakers! She made a face, whining in protest as she shook her foot in a vain attempt to deal with the water level situation.

Blood pooled from MamaJu wounds, and her body shook some as she felt light headed. The creature had to stop and sit down beside Voscil for a few moments to collect herself. Even her attack had done nothing, not even the faintest welt from the looks of it. While she hadn't dealt any damage to speak of, she had it in her to shake herself off and nudge at Voscil to move to a better spot not liking where they where in the slightest.

It was depressing. Ephias had not been able to find his friends anywhere. What if something had happened? Even worse was how pointless this post was. Green was an idiot and made a new post instead of editing an old one. Ephias could just lay down and die with how miserable he was.

Except not really. He pointedly reminded Green that he needed to keep his feelings to himself and not force them onto his characters, thank you very much.

Cerise takes advantage of the sudden sauna-like conditions to run through the mist and find some more lusii to free while her own lusus (who is very much at home with this environment) takes care of the flower monster!

Reemus's feet were suddenly soaked up to the ankles; that was the biggest clue that everything was about to go south again. He thought he was ready for anything at this point, but once he couldn't see, Reemus nearly panicked. The first thing that came to mind was losing his lusus again. That alone was enough to sink him into a fit of terror. "Mum!"

He felt around in the humid fog, trying to find the howlbeast.

A loud, pained yelp was the most bittersweet thing he could hear. "Mum! I'm coming!" He stumbled about until he could feel her fur, now freshly wet from being sliced with a machete. There, was, however, blood in her mouth, but not her own.

"Stay away from me Woofmum ya bloody b*****d!" Reemus barked in rage as his lusus pushed him away more and more in an attempt to get away from the blade's radius. Ohhh, if that bloke came back, Reemus would definitely show him a thing or two.

Grinning and smug, Regina hadn't expected Aendal to actually take her challange and jump into the fight himself. He seemed so 'evil lord', so unwilling to dirty his own hands. She parried a few of his blows and took a hit, stumbling back. Gritting her teeth, she attacked back with equal ferocity, heavy blade humming through the air.

Zindel failed in freeing a lusus.

Zindel mostly listened to them talk, not feeling particularly interested in the conversation before hearing Vos's question and kinda inching backward. Looking up at her, Zindel kinda tilted his head a little, brushing his curly hair a little back. Blinking twice, he knew if he didn't spill, she'd keep annoying him."I originally came from Old Hemi-- I mean, Civisect city. After... the incident, I had to move to NHC. I share a hive with a few other trolls now. It's not much, but we do what we can." He murmured, and listened to what she said afterward. He raised an eyebrow. It was obvious she was lying. No one was to be trusted, especially those who weren't in his blood caste. They had no idea of his struggle, of his sacrifice. They were ignorant.

Suddenly, the water level rose again and the entire area went white. Zindel was shocked still, unsure what to do. He could barely see...!! With a yelp, Zindel felt a ton of scratches on his face from birds!! Damnit, was Wrenmom apart of them!?!

Vremea heals Odette for half her HP with her powers!

Suddenly, Vremea was struck with a pang of fright. She had just left her friends alone with a kid. After seeing the corpses crumble to dust, Vremea quickly searched for her friends-- Oh, there was... was that-- Odette! Quickly, the yellowblood rushed over to her, seeing her very tired and low on health. She had been defending her... Touched, Vremea gave her friend a smile, touching her wounds and concentrating. A warm glow emitted from her hands, healing the worst of the wounds and giving her friend the strength to continue on. She continued healing her more, but immediately felt herself feel faint, and stopped-- hopefully she was healed enough, now.

Soon, Vremea was hit, not hard but enough to push her away from her friends. With a yelp, Vremea lost herself in the fog, looking for a way out. "Odette?! Keionx!?" She yelled, feeling wary-- oh, was this... Hey, these seemed like steps! The lolita carefully walked on them, doing her best not to fall, only to be unable to see her way to another area. With a sigh, the yellowblood decided to wait it out, leaning back on a vine and tapping her foot.

Between avoiding the flames, the attacks from the drones, and the rampaging lusii, Ephias had made little progress in finding his companions. He was beginning to fear the worst had happened. The whispers from Gl'bgolyb's did not help his mood. Even though it had been a while since he had felt the pressure from her voice, a dull pain continued to throb across his thinkpan. He often stopped to clutch at his forehead, teeth grit and eyes squeezed shut.

It was during one of these pauses that Wolly was attacked by a shapeless form in the mist. He was bowled over suddenly, crashing into the floor. Whoever had launched the assault though had not cared to finish the job. Wolly got to his feet, attempting to shake the water out of his wool. Unfortunately it was too heavy for that. Otherwise he appeared to be fine.

Keionx couldn't see what was happening through the fog, and soon Vremea was lost to it again and Keionx had no oppurtunity to figure it out. She cut at the vines, backing up to try and stick with her protector, searching for an opening of some kind to free another Lusus amid the choking fog...

Alifax followed the machete to its probable origin and swung, but it looked like the jadeblood had moved too quickly. Pity, he thought, and then scoffed. He didn't need to feel pity for this guy. He'd made his own choices, and they'd been the wrong ones.

And so Dictys submerged emself and began to work at eir own task. Underwater it was much easier to see than above, and ey had the added advantage of better dexterity there. Ey found a struggling lusus and reached out to begin freeing it from its wet prison.

Free! - Unsucessful

The whispers of the queens beast Gl'bgolyb made it impossible for a couple moments to really focus on doing anything. Rubbing at her temples in mildly frustration, but otherwise no worse for the wear despite the mental slithering feeling, she looked to Zindel for a long curious moment. "Ahhh! How cool! I live in NHC as well in a communal place as well! I bet we're almost neighbors~" She looked pleased despite her being fussy about the water situation. Even if she was only visiting Chittentown, knowing some one was from New Hemisect was pretty sweet. Tromping over to her Lusus she kept close to MamaJu while she chatted.

Wait! Another troll she knew was from NHC as well? her attention turned to Estali as she looked pleased to hear t h is news. "Oh really? Hell yeah that's totally rad!" she added suddenly, thrilled to add another to the list of potential people she could bother that didnt involve tons of travel (even if that wouldn't stop her). Voscil scooted close enough to offer out a high five to the other before she moved to do anything else. That easily was double the reason to all put literally wiggle with delight in place.

Looking to Reemus, hoping his own mom was okay she waited expectantly. The girl would just as easily re-ask the same question and begin to annoy him until he answered. Even with danger Aendal posed, she would not relent. "Same question~" Voscil replied to him, after she was sure everything was okay. All this stupid fire and darkness, no wonder they were having a bit of trouble. She reached over and very gently tugged at the yellowbloods sleeve...realizing the material wasn't the best to yank on she didn't keep at it. Giving her hands a brief rest, she dipped her palms in the waters. She'd go back to trying to wrestle with vines afterwards.

At any other time, it would be super interesting to learn that Voscil, Etsali, and Zindel were all city slickers. If his lusus hadn't just been stabbed, he would've had a plethora of questions for the other kids. But right now, in his seething anger, Reemus just took it as another way he was inferior. They could brave mingling with higherbloods out in the big city, yet he hid out here in the desert with others of similar low status. These kids here were strong, both nerves and body, and Voscil even had POWERS, and all he had was? Was...?

Reemus remembered all his efforts to lead, and how his recklessness hurt his lusus, and how Sinter yelled at him. Gillian's blood was still sticky on his hands. No matter what he did, he screwed up SOMEHOW or came up short, and...and...

Just then, a four-legged shadow ran through the fog. Reemus reached out, felt some vines slip into his fingers, and he held on tight. Then, gritting his teeth, he pulled hard. All of his strength went into this, and he could feel the aching strain as he pulled the tight coils from the lusus's body.

And then, something snapped, and Reemus fell back a few paces, vine still in his hands. But detached. He....did it? All he could do was blink as the shadow changed course and skittered off. Then he felt a hand on his 'shirt'. Reemus looked over to see what looked like Voscil. He ducked his head with an embarrassed smile about his ridiculous display...then realized...maybe she saw him? Do the thing? His attitude changed drastically at that. Instead of being bashful about losing his cool, he held up the limp vine with a huge smile. "Look, mate, I finally got in a corker of a blow on these bloody vines!"
