Another hit! Vremea managed to shove the drones further backwards, keeping them away from her and continuing her little ragefest. This was a lot more liberating than reading, that was for sure!!

Zindel failed in freeing a lusus.

Tug tug tug. Zindel kept on working on the vines, trying to pull them off, but failing. Of course, his hands hurt like crazy, he was barely trying as hard as much as he usually did.

Her arm.... it kept throbbing. Milieu clutched at her upper arm and clenched her teeth. It was starting to take over. Soon the battle would be lost and who knew? Would the tentacle turn on her friends. Odette. Athene. Keinox...

We're they alive still. Milieu lay on the col ground and despite the heat, she shuddered from the cold.

Vremea. She'd eventually turn on....

No. Gritting her teeth, the teal troll pushed herself up. No way in hell was she going to let the happen!

Looking around, she spotted it. Grinning cruelly sjuggled forward and found the discarded steel dagger. Holding it over the flame of a small fire, she wsuted. Soon the blade grew bright white. Yes.. this was it.

Before she lost her nerve, she plunged the dagger into her wound and against the parasitic fungus. She screamed silently and threw the dagger (it magically hit the jadeblood).

She must have cracked out. When her eyes peeled open, she felt so much better and ready to fight.

"Odette?!" Keionx was briefly distracted by the sound that came from her protectors mouth, and she turned to face the new threat, only to be completely gobstoppered. That blood color... The queen?!

No.

Not important. Whatever was happening was not important. What was important was that the lusii were still trapped and that things were bad and, for now, Odette was not in immediate danger.

No more so than anybody. No more so than Keionx...

She took a deep breath and hacked at the vines again, crying out as they caught fire. It hurt her eyes, but it hurt the lusii too. Those lusii were someone's parent, their guardian, their friend. What if it had been Beastdad in there? Though he was safe and sound with Zariah, Keionx knew that this - this here - was what he would have wanted her to do. This was what she had been trained to do.

She had to make her papa proud.

Although apparently he hadn't trained her in dodging flaming plant projectiles.

Nobody was burning to a crisp, though Reemus was worried for a moment there. Aendal's attacks were getting worse all the time...and much more dangerous. There was a lot more burning than flora anymore, which was weird to think about considering the lush environments he and his other team had gone through to get here. It was like this jadeblood was willing to destroy everything he made just to take the intruders down. It made Reemus sad, in a way.

Well, he was mostly pissed at the guy and would've had no qualms having a shot to tear Aendal's throat out himself, but the level of desperation and hate was disheartening. But at least the trolls led by the queen herself would bring order back to the situation! It was the system doing its job, as far as he was concerned.

And Reemus's own priorities lie with his lusus and his ragtag pack for the moment. And, of course, helping the cause any way he could. Higher castes were supposed to protect and maintain order, but that didn't mean they had to do it on their own! Hence why lowerbloods were attacking the rainbow drinker, too, Reemus figured. Everyone was working together for a common goal, a good cause, for the sake of everyone!

So with his hands feeling a bit better, Reemus pulled on some more vines. He even tried yanking with his teeth, as well as chewing a little.

But his renewed vigor just wasn't enough to save the lusus he was trying to work with at the moment.

The queen's face was lit up with external and inner fire. Flames were beautiful, burning was beautiful. It was one of her largest regrets that living underwater made installing a fireplace in her hive both impractical and ludicrous.

As much as teamwork made everything easier, she'd still found it nearly impossible to grasp and pull at the particular bunch of vines. Distracted by her group mates and talking with the fellow yellowblood she'd been trying to show off as was in her nature. Looking sheepish when her efforts feel sort of actually providing results she rubbed at the back of her neck chuckling off her blunder. No matter how dire the situation, she still found it her to have a good time. Not that suffering lusii, or rainbowdrinkers who commanded drones, or dead anything with plants was a good thing.

Voscil watched Reemus chew at the vines and even gave it a try. She quickly regretted it and making a face of utter disgust. Yuck. They didn't even taste edible, all it did was make her stomach groan in protest wanting actual food.

On the other hand if she looked at it from a positive standpoint the water was a plus. As it stood the situation was defiantly not the easist of one to over come. "woopse..! Meant to do that." She just hadn't held on tight enough, nor long enough to make a difference just then. However, Voscil took her time to survey the situation beyond her group. They had to be making progress...she felt a measure of pride knowing how hard everyone was working. Together. That to her was amazing, what with so many bloodcasts present and accounted for. It was like a wiggler's fairy tale of some kind.

Alifax had become distracted, somehow - weaving in and out of the drones and the stupid pillar of plants the way he'd been. But now the pillar was had dwindled, and the plants were beginning to catch on fire, too. Perhaps the jadeblood thought he was doing himself a favor with this flame, but really it looked like he was just running out of ammunition. Grinning, Alifax seized his meteors and went on the offensive again, hacking his way through the nearest drones on his way closer to the jadeblood.

As he should've suspected the redblood from earlier wasn't doing anything for him. But that was okay - he only needed her if it was beginning to look dangerous, and it wasn't. This guy's luck was definitely running out.

Tamiya didn't even notice the drone creeping up behind her. When it latched onto her torso and neck, she screamed. The burning oils seared through her thick clothes and tore through her like electric rivulets. Horror.

She was back in her hive, her masks melting all around her and creating this horrific drone's visages. Her ears started ringing. Tamiya blacked out.

When she came to, the drones were dead -- crushed like rotten fruits. She collapsed to the ground, unable to move for a moment as she came to her senses. Everything hurt.

Tamiya did 6 damage.

Dictys curled eir lip as Mommydaddy began to flee toward em. Finally, ey thought: they were seeing sense! They needed to get a better idea of what the jadeblood was planning, or how to destroy those plants in an efficient manner. What did chlorokinesis mean anyway? Did the guy's power extend to dead plants? Clearly, since some of them weren't rooted - but there had to be a point where his powers stopped.

Oh no - ey'd lost track of Mo - oh, there they were. It looked like they'd only retreated to regroup, and were falling forward into the fray again.
