At the sound of the familiar voice he detested, Ivan tensed up and looked around frantically. Finally, his eyes rested on a violet dot from a distance. Leon Court. Clenching his jaw, the blond male spirited away to an isolated aisle and watched the man. He watched Leon talk giddily on the phone while standing in front of the flowers, his hand hovering around some agapanthuses. He nearly scoffed; figures that lovestruck fool wouldn't know anything about Nikolai's favorite flo - He froze when he heard the purple-haired man mention his boyfriend. Nikolai? His boyfriend? Ivan felt a tight feeling in his chest and soon realized that he hadn't taken a breath in a while. He gasped in air and quickly crouched to avoid being caught. His chest still hurt. His heart, it was hurting, but nothing was stronger than the growing fury he held for Leon.

Leon shook his head as he gently fingered a bouquet of Ericas. "No, it's more, I know it. He wouldn't have asked me to become his bodyguard if he wasn't worried about my immortality fading. Kerry, I'm fine, I just...I don't know if he loves me or if he loves who I remind him of."

Love? Him? Ivan nearly laughed. The thought of his precious Nikolai caring for someone other than him was just absurd! He grit his teeth and was just about to storm out of the aisle to confront Leon when he heard him talk about Nikolai loving someone he was reminded of. Reminded of.... It had to be him, of course! Ivan allowed himself a proud smile. He knew all along Nikolai loved him. Using the confidence-booster, he strode out of the aisle and stood beside Leon at the flower section, quickly picking out a bouquet of Forget-me-nots and yellow tulips, waiting to see if the other man would acknowledge him.

"I told you, I refuse to divulge named, but all I can say is that Nikolai knew him a long time ago and his name starts with a G," said the man, too focused on the Erica's to notice anyone else. "But anyway, I'm not upset. The man is long dead, and while Nikolai clearly still loves him, he's obviously finding room to fit me. I don't care if I only get his love every now and then, so long as he never forgets how it feels to wake up in the arms of a man who genuinely cares about his well-being." Straightening, Leon adjusted the basket and grabbed the Ericas, smelling the flowers. "Oh hush, Ker, I won't get hurt. You know me, heart and abs of steel! But really, though...I know what I'm getting myself into."

Ivan was too busy with his thoughts to listen to him mention anything about what the name started with or the man being dead. He was too absorbed in his happy thoughts of Nikolai loving him. But... that stupid teacher didn't seem to notice him. Most likely nervous about the competition being right next to him. Ivan glanced at the flowers Leon sniffed and decided to speak first from the two. "He won't like those." he said in a condescending tone.

"The Ericas aren't for him, Ivan," he sighed with great patience, hanging up the phone and slipping it into his pocket. "They are for someone else. The agapanthuses are the ones for him, and I think he'll love them." Leon turned to Ivan and raised an eyebrow. "It's been about twenty years since you last spoke intimately to Nikolai. How can you presume to know him?"

Ivan tried to be just as calm but only succeeded in giving him a sharp glare. "Because I know for a fact nothing about him has changed. That, and I remembered everything about him." he said with a small hint of pride. "I know his favorite kind of coffee, his favorite color, and that he's just using you."

He rolled his eyes. "Oh? And what's his favorite kind of cookie? And what instrument makes him smile with pure happiness? And what's his favorite thing about being a Sin?" Leon didn't wait for answers, turning to the cashier and setting his things on the counter. "He's not using me, Ivan. If anything, he's growing with me."

"Growing." Ivan scoffed and followed him to the counter, deciding that he was done shopping as well. Although, as much as he hated to admit it, Leon had some knowledge over Nikolai that he didn't know. Back in college Nikolai would always dodge the auditorium and always claimed that he was watching his figure, hence not getting any junk food. But his favorite thing obviously had to be the ability to sleep all the time! The Sin always slept, he had to have loved it! "Nikolai wouldn't grow with anyone as cheap as you." he said, his jealousy doing most of the talking. The cashier, listening though trying hard to act as if he was minding his own business, handed Leon his things and was instantly tossed the items Ivan had.

Leon took the things and sighed. "You just don't get it, do you? Ivan, Nikolai is with me. We're a couple. There's nothing you can do about that. It would be better for you to just buck up and move on." With that, he turned and left, eager to return to his lover.

Even after Leon had left Ivan stayed glaring at the counter. The audacity for that... that punk to tell him such things! Nikolai was his, his! He would never belong to some freak like that! Murder clouded Ivan's thoughts, deepened his growl, fogged his eyes.
"T-Twenty f-fifty."
Ivan glared upwards at the cringing cashier.
"T-Twenty fifty, s-sir!" he practically gasped.
The assistant teacher slowly stopped growling, though the hatred and scorn in his eyes stayed in place. He remained quiet or a second then found himself slowly turning around to look at the aisles. He wasn't entirely sure what it was he was looking for until his eyes rested upon an aisle of tools and mechanics for breakdowns nearby. His eyes lingered around a section of oil tanks.
"....Let me get one more thing...."

"What all junk food should we get?" Helen asked her twin as she entered the store, immediately darting to the bags of chips. The store clerk was slumped against his counter with his chin propped up on his hand. He gave the two a brief look and looked back at the small TV he had hidden, not surprised to see them again.

"Anything that would instantly go to my hips if I were a middle-aged woman," he said, grabbing a small basket and filling it with candy and chips. "Hey, get energy drinks. No sleeping in our dorm now that you're back. That's right... it's time for another Uno tournament!"

"Don't you ever get tired of losing?" Helen snickered to her brother while tossing in the chips and dips to match. She went to the next aisle to look at their options for energy drinks. Five Hour, Monster, Red Bull... "Huh. Dunno which to get." she mumbled to herself then looked over the other aisle to locate her brother. "Hey, which should we get?" she called out to him.

"Hey, it ain't over until the fat lady sings!" he yelled, tossing in a bunch o bags of gummy worms. Peeking over the aisle down at her, he blinked. "Two of each. It can be our science experiment." With a cheeky grin, he waltzed over to the small counter of medicines, pushing in a package of condoms before returning to his sister's side. "So hey, that dorm besides ours is supposed to be taken later today by some new girl. I think her name's Leslie or something. Maybe we should invite her over, as a way to say hi. What do you think?"
