The maid nodded. "Of course, follow me."

Elliot allowed himself to be led by the maid, noticing the worry in the Prime Minister and gently patting the man's arm, giving a small smile of confidence before feeling a squeeze on his other hand. "Leo?" he whispered, rubbing the back of his hand with his thumb. "You are safe. Trust me."

"Mmmn." he tried to answer, the nuzzling distracting him, ears lowering as his body tried to arch away or move closer. Even it wasn't sure on what its host wanted. "I-I wasn't aware you had more clothes." he murmured. "I'll take...take those then, Tsume."

"Oh no need to bow, we are friends now. Come, by order of the king, at least have some breakfast tea." and allowed the man to sit down at the breakfast table, King filling his plate just as Nix walked in. "Yes, however no children are allowed in this room, young one. I suggest you go back to your room." he could not have Nix in here despite her knowing. Sometimes adults needed to be adults and children needed to be children. She meant well he knew, but there was little she could do.

"Right in here." The maid said, motioning towards the already open door.

"Father, you called?" He nearly stopped mid-sentence, recognizing the Retian clothing and quickly gripped Leo's hand, turning to whisper. Even Retians knew men did not get pregnant and Leo could pass as a woman. But now it was the Prime Minister he was worried about.

"We have an invitation," the king said with a serious edge to his tone, meaning there was to be no fooling around, also as a warning to Lewis to act his role even if his clothing didn't match it at the moment. "From the king of Reta himself. For a party."

"How thoughtful." Elliot said stiffly, taking his place at the table.

Nix frowned, but she nodded. she already knew anyways and would just get in the way. she was gone before the others arrived.

Leo and Lewis both froze in the doorway, Leo instantly dropping his eyes and reverting to the role of a bentien and Lewis nearly turning tail and fleeing. Lewis felt Al's gaze and knew he couldn't run. he had to play his part. he straightened his back and walked in past Leo and Elliot, taking his spot at the king's side. "An invitation you say?"

Leo was shaking, his hand clenched tightly around Elliot's, trying to hold it back. gods, what was he going to do? he hadn't dressed in a way that would hide his pregnancy and here was a man who reported directly to the king, to his uncle. he was going to be sick, he knew it. "E-Elliot," he whispered, but the man's eyes turned to him and his stomach clenched into a knot. even the babies, who had been active before, were holding perfectly still. he followed the prince into the room the proper three steps behind and only sat when directed to by Elliot. he kept his eyes down and his hands in his lap, too afraid to look up from the table.

the messenger's eyes missed nothing. it was another reason he'd been picked, to act as an observer of the condition of this kingdom's leaders and he found it lacking. the bentien, however, left him a bit shocked. his master would definitely want to hear about this! he stood and bowed, "it is my duty to read the invitation aloud before all guests. is this everyone, your majesty?"

Tsume smiled, though it was a bit strained right then, and let Kashi go, pulling out another outfit, this one a dark blue. "we need to hurry, Leo's panicing. there is something not right." he dressed as well and held the door for Kashi before running for the dining room, letting the worry show on his face for the first time since he felt Leo's panic peek.

"Don't worry." Elliot murmured softly in Leo's ear, holding his hand underneath the table, using ice to slowly move the Falian's chair closer to his own. Carefully he flipped the other's hand over so Elliot's fingers were on Leo's palm, index finger writing letter by letter a short message. "I love you." and gave the hand a small squeeze. Leo was safe. There was nothing they could do without breaking the alliance, and there was no mark to prove they owned Leo anymore. He was safe.

"I don't understand how your bag is so large." The hare murmured, quickly changing. Kashi was only moving so quickly because he didn't want to be alone in Tsume's room. "You can hurry, I'm right behind you. I'm a hare, we're born and bred to be fast." and smiled a bit, following after the wolf.

"O-Oh! Ipo!" The bear ear maid called, making Kashi stop.

"I'm Kashi."

"Even better! The king asked for your presence in the breakfast hall. He said it was urgent.

"Thank you." and jogged to catch up with Tsume before entering the breakfast room. There was Alvaro, a stiff Lewis, a cautious if not slightly threatening Elliot and a very submissive Leo. "M-My King." Kashi greeted, giving a bow and standing again. "My company was asked for?" And saw Elliot smile a bit. What? Why was he smiling? Kashi suddenly grew self-conscious when remembering he was in Falian wear, and that was a Retian man standing at the table.

Alvaro nodded. "An invitation for a party. Everyone here is invited but I shall be bringing two more." and then the meek hare and the assertive wolf were at the door, Tsume watching Leo cautiously, which was to be expected. No doubt he would grow rage filled at the Retian messenger. "I would love the both of you to take a seat. Kashi beside the Prime Minister," seperating him from the Retian, "And Tsume, beside our dear Miss Lily." and smiled at the messenger. "Now almost everyone is here but these are the ones the King will be seeing the most. You may nowread your invitation out loud."

Kashi stared before moving and waiting for the Retian to move over a chair before sitting. He had to turn his head to see Lewis, but he did seem somewhat pale, and pantless. And there were more people attending? No, not attending since the king wouldn't see them, but coming along? Wait, that meant Kashi would be attending! He had no formal wear! He was a servant!

Tsume stood to his full height and looked down at the Retain, daring him to put a single finger out of line. he did as instructed, but refused to sit, standing beside Leo and a little back, in the position of a guard.

The messenger lifted an eyebrow at the hare's odd clothing, but it was the silver haired man that caught his attention and held it. so they hired a guard for the bentien? did they really think they could protect it like that? regardless he stood and held out the invitation, reading it out loud for all to hear. when he finished he bowed low, "with my duty here finished i should be on my way. my master waits my return with your favorable answer."

Leo was going to pass out. he could hear the blood rushing in his ears, his vision was narrowing into a tunnel. the gods hated him, the fates laughed at him. why? they had been so happy! why did this have to happen now. his hand grew limp in Elliot's as he concentrated on keep his face empty of emotions and breathing. he could pass out when the man was gone, but not now. he needed to remain completely in control while he was being observed.

Tsume placed a hand on Leo's shoulder and tried to support his friend the best he could, but he doubted Leo even felt it.

Lewis was clutching the arms of his chair with white knuckled grips. He's sworn he would never return to that place. he couldn't go back! but-how could he refuse without giving the Retan king reason for war? what did he do? one hand freed itself and unconsciously ran through his hair. his short hair. he was going to be punished, he'd been so bad. he was being punished again, "i'm sorry-" he barely whispered, his shaking hand clutching the arm of his chair once more.

"How picky of him." Elliot murmured softly. "I suppose the secretary will have to take your stead, Father, while you and us attend the party."

"Yes I was just thinking that." Alvaro agreed, "But he has made it so this is an offer we can't refuse. Myself, you, Lewis"

Kashi stood. "L-let me walk you to the door, sir." and led him out of the room.

Elliot now physically bristled in anger. "A bentien!" he snapped angrily. "How dare-! The nerve-!" fangs were bared before looking at Leo, forcing himself to calm down. "And you are pale. Leo, Leo you are safe now, he's gone." and held the Falian. "Let us take you back to bed, all right?

"I understand how you feel, Elliot, but there is little we can do about it without causing war." he moved carefully to Lewis. "Lewis, Lewis focus on me." and gently grabbed his face, forcing the man to look at him. "Focus on me, remember where you are. You're safe. You're very safe with me. We're bringing Henry and Megan with us, okay? They'll protect you, remember?" and stroked his face gently.

Kashi opened the front door, bowing. "Thank you for traveling so far to deliver your invitation. We are very thankful for our alliance with the country of Reta."

"I'm from Kasp, slut." Ipo said, walking in with a few boxes. "First the ki--" he paused, looking at the messenger. "Oh, you were talking to him." and did his best to bow. "Thank you very much for delivering your invitation. If you'll excuse me." and left, but not without whispering 'slut' towards his brother one more time.

He was gone. Leo's mind registered the man leaving before it shut down completely. his body went completely limp, falling to the side, unable to remain upright as he lost consciousness.

Tsume snarled as the man left, but his attention went instantly to Leo, catching his friend since he fell the opposite direction of Elliot. "he's shutting down. his mind is closing in on itself, we need to get him somewhere quiet. i can bring him back, but it's going to take a bit." he looked at Elliot and then to the king, "this is too much. with everything going on, he can't take this too. it will be the end of him."

Lewis looked at the king, his eyes wide. tears slowly began to form and he reached up to take the man's hands, "i'm sorry. please, please, i'm sorry. don't send me back. i'll be good, i promise. please, don't send me back!"

the messenger shook his head a little, so they were from Kasp. he didn't know the people here had Kaspians working for them. this was an interesting visit after all. "you are too kind," he bowed to the two of them before turning and leaving the same way he'd come, through a portal made by his master's mages. he had much to report his his master.

Elliot looked at Tsume and nodded. "The library isn't to far from here. It's just a hall down. I'll show you." and glanced at his father before quickly rushing out, showing Tsume the way and opening the door for him. "There should be a couch off to the side." and closed the door. "This was too much stress, this is awful. That Retian king surprising this onto us. Leo has already been through so much. I'm sorry Tsume, for not taking good care of him."

"No, no." he said softly, gently holding the hands. "We're not sending you back, no. No, remember we're going in to see who else we can save." and kissed the man's fingers. "We're going to the party to see who else we can save. Megan is coming with us, and Henry. You know them, they're our friends, remember Lewis? They're coming with us while Reinette keeps an eye over the kingdom. and we're going to have some other people travel with us as well."

Tsume shook his head, "this is nothing you could have prevented. you had no idea that man would pull this. you know what he's doing, right? he probably knew how you would react to Leo and to what he did to him. he waited until Leo felt himself safe and then threw this in his face to remind him there is no such thing as being safe. not with that monster still alive." he law Leo down and sat next to him. "i need to focus, so talk but i'm not going to respond." he took Leo's hand, linking himself physically before closing his eyes and slipping into his master's mind through their link.

Lewis closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "we're saving the others?" he asked softly, his shivering easing. "it's ok-it's ok, we're going to save them. we're going to help them." he was convincing himself, trying to calm himself down. "I don't know if i can do this, Al."

Elliot's brow creased in worry and anger. "This is awful and cruel. Leo is safe here! He is safe in Falia due to his link to that wretched shadow demon!" fists clenched as did his jaw, teeth grinding. "This was not how today was supposed to turn out!" and suddenly he deflated. "A day of peace, is that too much to ask for? A simple day of peace? I was going to propose to Leo, Nix helped me think of an idea for a ring. I was going to take him into town and make it public to the world." Silver eyes looked up Leo. "Though I doubt even that would lighten the atmosphere now." and sighed. "From my confession to my proposal, nothing is going according to any plan or outline I imagined. I thought the war and drama ended with my father's reign."

Alvaro nodded. "That's right. We're going to save and help them, we need to go to look for the first day or two, and then we're going to save them." and still holding the other's hands, Alvaro stroked Lewis's face with his knuckles. "You can do this, Lewis. You're a strong man, you can fight. Trust me, you can do this. I trust you and you trust me, right?"

Tsume sat for several minutes before opening his eyes, "he's back-" he sat u and looked down at Leo as the blue eyes slowly opened. "he'd locked himself in pretty deep...he's going to take a little bit to come to himself."

Leo's eyes slowly opened. he looked around and saw Elliot there and Tsume too. he smiled and sat up, "why the long faces?" there was something wrong, he just couldn't remember what. "weren't we going to town? did something happen?' he felt light headed, dizzy, had he fainted?

Lewis nodded, "ok, i can do this. i just-don't leave me. please? don't leave me, they'll take me back. i can't, i'm too old. they'll dispose of me. please-don't make me go back."

Elliot moved to Leo as Tsume said he was up. "That's all right if it does." he murmured, face turning into a relieved smile. "Yes, Leo. We're going to town." and kissed his head. "Let's go get you properly dressed for the winter air before we go." and looked at the wolf. "Come on, let me help you to our room." He looked up at Tsume. "Thank you so much, Tsume. Could you make sure Kashi doesn't try to avoid coming? He doesn't do well with large social things. I've heard you're his friend." Elliot gave a small smile, bowing to the wolf. "I'm thankful." and slowly helped Leo up onto his feet before walking out.

"Lewis we're only going back to look around and save some people, that's it." he explained softly . "I won't leave you, I'll never let you out of my sight I promise. They won't be able to lay a finger on you. You're safe with me all right?"

Tsume nodded, standing up, "I'll keep in touch in case you need me." he looked over Leo before heading for where he could smell Kashi. "seems like we need to pack. want to use my bag and save space?"

About half way back to their room, the memories of before he'd lost consciousness came back and Leo froze. "we're going back, aren't we?" he asked softly, clutching to Elliot's arm. "we have to, if we don't he'll start a war. Elliot-" he moaned, his legs giving out as he fell against the man, "what are we going to do? he'll take me back!"

Lewis shivered, but nodded, "r-right. i'm safe. i can't fight now-" his eyes widened and he stood so quickly his chair fell back. "leo! the babies, Al, they won't be safe! we can't let them go, we can't risk the babies!"

Kashi jumped, being found as he was ready to hide himself inside an empty crate. "I-I can't go!" he said quickly. "I don't have any clothes! I don't have anything that can make me seem like I blend in to that atmosphere!" and shook his head, sitting down, holding the lid over his head. "Tsume I am but a servant, we don't attend parties so extravagant! I refuse to go!" and slammed the lid down, curling up at the bottom.

"Whoa there," Elliot caught the falling body, nodding. "We're going back, Leo. I'm sorry." and slowly moved onto the floor so the other could sit. Elliot didn't want to go back just as much as Leo, but this time he would be wiser about who was and was not a bentien. "Don't worry, Leo. They won't take you back. We're going to do something in the town, in public. Once that is known if the king takes you away he will cause war. Trust me, I will give you as much protection as possible."

"The babies are fine! They're safe!" Alvaro said quickly. "Don't worry, we've got men already along the border and around the main towns. We'll send more to the smaller ones." and grabbed the man's shoulders gently. "They're safe, don't worry."

Tsume grinned, "so you want to go in a crate then, huh? suit yourself." it was easy to pick up the crate with Kashi inside, "want to be on the top of the back of the carriage? might have to nail down to top to keep you from falling out, is that ok?" he carried Kashi into his bedroom and got a shoe, hitting the top as if he were nailing it shut."hey, maybe i should get in with you. think there's room for both of us in there? we might have to snuggle."

Leo swallowed hard, refusing to let go of Elliot's arm. what could he say? what could he do to convince Elliot to not take him back there? nothing, there was nothing he could do to stop this. the cold realization cause his shivering to stop and his grip to loosen, "ok. i'm ok. we can go, i'm sorry. i'll try to not embarrass you, mast-Elliot!" he had nearly slipped there, nearly fallen back to calling Elliot master and he knew that was the last thing Elliot wanted.

Lewis fell against Al's chest, holding the man close. "you're so much bigger than you used to be. you're taller than me even-i actually believe you when you say you'll protect me-protect us." he sighed and let himself go limp, "no choice. have to go, have to save them. i can do this, i can be strong..." he nodded, trying to convince himself, "we should pack. we need to go soon."

"What?" but then the hare found himself lifted while still in the crate. No, Tsume was lying, he wouldn't do it. Kashi would call his bluff so he stayed silent, hearing a door open and the box placed down. "You're lying." he said simply, until the banging started. It had to be fake, it had to be, but looking around the small confines of the box he panicked, sitting up and pushing the lid off. "I'm sorry I'll go I don't want to go in a crate!" and gave the wolf a teary-eyed look. "But I don't have anything to wear!"

The white ears lowered at hearing Leo almost revert. "Come on, let's get you dressed for the town." and helped the teen up, taking him to the room and making sure he dressed properly, fur boots and everything. He also mde sure Leo looked absolutely stunning and did his best to hide the more or less obvious pregnancy. "You look stunning." he murmured.

Alvaro smiled. "I hope you believe me because I mean it this time." and let the man rest there, rubbing his back. "You're right. Let's go pack quickly." and walked with Lewis. "And you're going to wear pants this time, it's a necessity."
