Halflings

[The McWrapped D]

"Depending on if you value your life and that hybrid mutt. Technically he falls halfway under my jurisdiction... I am after all going to be queen soon." She kept her face blank.  

[Xandclehr]

"Ah so that's who you are. I thought you're face looked familiar. And as for the mutt, I just saw you bullying some nice people in my forest. I figured I'd kick you out, seeing as how you're business here is naught but to do harm to those who have done nothing to you. You have intruded here, not they."

"Ahhh but do you know why we intrude??"  

[Xandclehr]

"I'm venturing a guess that it has something to do with the two Halflings. Oh yes I know. You should try to watch how loud you keep your battles. There are those that can hear all over this forest. There are those that believe what you do is wrong and many will stand against you. Yet there are those that believe what you do is right and will stand with you. Though now you must realize that what you do here is pointless at this moment. For even you can hear the houses beginning to stir at the ruckuss you've caused."

Marina laughed. "Yes it's about the halflings. You must understand that if they lose control like the girl over there is about to then it could mean the end of the world." She did a round house kick to Aithne's chest and knocked her back.

Arania woke up groggily. Her head and back hurt where she had been flung into the tree. Christian was in front of her in a protective stance with his sword out and Aliera was still in a weird daze. "Ugh what happened?"

The druid/elf hybrid was in a one on one battle with Marina. "Oh your sister knocked you out," muttered Christian.  

[Xandclehr]

Aithne recovered and struck out with her sword a few times, landing at least one hit. "And you must understand that as long as they're both together it's less likely that one will lose control. With time they would be able to keep that control themselves." She retorted as she landed a solid side kick to Marina's stomach.

She laughed. "You do know that that chance cannot be taken and we were hired. Of course we shall not leave without completing our mission." She healed herself and bit Aithne's arm. She laughed as she sliced her across her stomach. "You know nothing of the politcs of this country. Also if people don't want to deal with the consequences of breaking the rules then don't break them. That's what their mother should have done in the first place," Marina replied coldly as she grabbed Aithne's arm and twisted it causing it to snap in half and pop out of its socket. She then grabbed her and threw her into the river which had a strong current. She shook her head. "You are foolish."

"God, Marina, just finish the chick off!" muttered Cosette. She hated how weak she was right now. "$#@! half-breed...."

Gwenlyn covered her ears, trying to block out the noise of the battle. "Why the hell can't we help them?" she asked Hector. "Isn't Roy your friend?"

Marina rushed over to Cossette and slit her wrist. She held it to her mouth. "That should hold you for now..." She sighed. "It's much more fun to play around."  

[Xandclehr]

Aithne gasped as she finally broke the surface of the water. She reached out and grabbed a low hanging branch just above the water with her good arm. With a huge effort she pulled herself out of the water and onto the bank. She took in huge gulps of air, trying to calm herself before she looked down at the wound in her stomach. The gash was very long and very deep.

Aithne lay on the ground for some time gathering energy to heal herself. It took quite a while to repair the broken arm and she knew she'd have to go back to her house and pop it back into place. Once she was healed she carefully got to her feet and, testing her balance, took off toward Nettle's house. It didn't take long for Aithne to get there, but by the time she did she was in agony.

Marina grinned as she saw the werewold protecting one of the halflings. "Interesting... I see the little puppy has found himself a master." A smile played on her lips and the werewolf snarled.

Arania grabbed Christian's arm. "Don't. She's baiting you," she whispered.

Nettle heard a knock at her door. She opened it and found a beat-up Aithne clutching what looked like a dislocated arm. "Omigod!" she gasped. "What happened?"

Hector stared out the window... "I don't know. He must not want us there. He will call if he needs us."

Roy ran to Christan's aid and growled as he tackled Marina to the ground.

He stuck his claws into the vampire's legs and ripped them off. He then bit into her neck and started sucking her blood.
Before she even had a chance to respond he jumped off her. He grabbed one leg with his teeth and gave it to Christian.

Christian took off with it. She won't be able to reattach it if it's not here he thought.

He nodded to Arania and howled nice and loud. A few moments later Hector and the girl arrived. Arania stood behind Hector.

Roy turned his attention back to Cosette.

Hector shot multiple arrows pinning down the vampire without any legs. Two in each hand.
He turned to Gwenlyn. "I need you to protect Arania with me. I'm not that good with a sword if things get close range."

"Right," said Gwenlyn as she stood in front of the girl. She drew her bow, and prepared to shoot anyone that came near. If the battle became close-range, her arrow would double as a knife.

Cosette felt Marina's blood working its way through her system. She finally regained the energy to stand. "Fools!" she shouted as she picked up her sword. "Do you have any idea what you're protecting?! Those girls are halflings! We're doing the world a favor."

The elf-girl pointed her bow at Cosette. "Not in our forest," she shouted. "Take your allies and leave. We'll deal with the halflings ourselves."

"Ha! Like I'd believe the likes of you!" Cosette rushed at the elves.
