 It was getting closer to this Christmas, but though he was eager to try this feast out, after Mary’s message about Erik he hadn’t done anything about it. The houses around them were adorned with lights and all sorts of decorations, but the elf had kept his own home and garden the way it was because he didn’t want his friend to feel bad. Right now he had just gotten up and taken a shower. Ayluin had put on jeans and a white shirt and was just putting on his hoodie as he walked down the stairs when the door opened and Erik walked in with two boxes in his arms. The young man was surprised but since he was still out of sight and wasn’t in the habit of calling through the house he continued walking down the stairs and joined his friend in the kitchen soon after. When he entered the kitchen he glanced at all the bottles, though he didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t like he knew much alcohol beyond mead. "Goodmorning Erik, Mr. Kro. I didn’t expect to see you this early." he said with a gentle smile to them both. Ayluin was acting like he usually would, he thought that was probably for the best. And of course he hadn’t missed the music and all either, so it wasn’t like he was completely missing out on the holiday. He wanted to ask how he was but somehow that just felt like a dumb thing to ask, even to him. Instead the moonelf went to the fridge and poured himself a juice, went to the table and sat down so Erik could finish his breakfast first before Ayluin would start on his own. There was no rush after all. "Do you have any plans for today?" the young man asked before he took a sip from his juice. It always tasted great to him at the start of the day. Just the right level of sweet and sour. For now he was glad to just enjoy the warmth of the house, perhaps he would light the fireplace later too and just make it a nice day in. Unless Erik suddenly got the urge to go somewhere together. As he waited for a reply he glanced out of the window at the snow that was falling. It wasn’t exactly something Ayluin liked much he realized. He didn’t pay a bit of attention to Ay until the elf actually spoke to him. ”Neighbor’s decorations kept me up last night. Didn’t really get much sleep so I had no real problem waking up early.” Maybe he should have asked the elf why he was up, but then again Ay always woke up fairly early. ”Want me to fix you something too? I don’t know what I’m cooking yet, so whatever you want works for me.” At the question of plans he poured himself another shot and swallowed it down. ”I plan to get drunk and stay drunk for the entire holiday season. Just cause I have to live through it doesn’t mean I have to be cognizant of it.” However, he had not known Mary texted Ay, so he figured he ought to follow up with some sort of explanation. ”I’ve hated Christmas for a long time now, never was a good holiday for me. I don’t know if you’ve been keeping the place Christmas free because of me or you just don’t know much about the holiday. Either way, I appreciate it. My siblings always liked it, so I played along for them, but I’m looking forward to ignoring the whole dystopian charade this year. If you want to celebrate though, I won’t stop you or anything, just know I won’t join in.” That was enough of an explanation for now. Maybe if the impossible happened and the two of them got very close he might explain more, but that was all he could tell without dipping into his past.

Thanks to Mary’s timely warning, the moonelf wasn’t completely caught off guard by Erik’s response about Christmas lights. It still surprised him a little bit though. "I see, we really need to get you some curtains. That way you can block the light out. It used to be just a guest room after all, let me know about any changes you’d like." Ayluin offered to Erik after that response and walked towards one of the chairs where he placed his arms, lightly folded, on the backrest. He smiled a bit when the other offered to make breakfast and nodded. Why not? They were already going to make some. "What would you think about something simple like bread with fried egg or something? It fills well and there are plenty of eggs in the fridge. I was going to try and bake a cake but I can get new ones before I do." he offered. While Erik answered him and then explained his reaction, the moonelf raised one arm and rested his chin on his hand, his focus completely on his house mate, listening carefully as was his won’t. It was only for a moment though, once they finished Ayluin smiled a bit and shook his head. "Both. I don’t know much about the holiday, but I also got a warning beforehand that you might not be happy because of Christmas though no explanation why as much, so I decided to not join in. I never experienced it before, so it’s not like I really know what I miss out on anyway." he replied honestly as he moved and sat down on the same chair he had been leaning on, his focus still on Erik. If they wanted to talk, the elf would listen. If not, perhaps they could converse about other stuff, though it was concerning that Erik meant to drown himself in bottles. That was no way for anyone to live, but Ayluin knew it was not up to him to stop them. "It sounds like I picked the right path to go. I would never want you to feel bad about anything. And if Christmas makes you feel this bothered, then it will not come into the house on my account." he answered his friend. Ayluin had been curious about this Christmas ever since Mary texted him, but he still didn’t want Erik to feel bad, so he would forgo the holiday this time if it made them feel better. "Maybe we can find something else to do as a distraction for you. Let me know." the moonelf offered before he changed the subject. Dawn’s rosy fingers crept in through the window and gouged at his eye. There was something between his face and the light, he could vaguely feel it, and no matter what it was it was a damn good shield for his eye, once he turned his head a bit and buried his face within it. Feeling hair against his face was no real shocker either; he had long hair and though he tried to keep it out of the way while he slept, it wasn’t that uncommon for it to tangle up around him. What was distinctly odd was feeling a warm pressure against him and noticing his arm was wrapped around something. It took a moment for these sensations to register in his hung over yet still slightly drunk brain, but once they landed he bolted upright, confused as hell as to what was going on. His brain howled in pain at the sudden movement and the sunbeam once more stabbing his eye. After a moment to recollect himself, he surveyed the damage. "Ok, warm thing is Ay. He's asleep near me. Awkward but not so-
-why are my clothes on the floor? So are his, I think. What the ******** did we do?" And then it hit him. "Did I seriously screw him last night? Damn this is not good. How could I have screwed up such an easy score? He's not even my type." Though his body was telling him to lie down, his brain was racing at light speed to a find a way out of this damn mess.
