"Well,you see Aunt Deborah was really uncle Danny." Stacy said with a smile. She realized she didn't fit in as a boy or felt like a boy when she was fifteen and when she turned eighteen,she went through the procedures to become a girl." Stacy said with a smile as she remembered all the things Deborah had to go through.

Roy stared at his mom, but then laughed a bit. "Ah. But...I don't feel like I'm a girl."

Rick rolled his eyes with a sigh. "That's not what I meant. I'm saying...you're still growing. Some people figuring it out sooner, like Ryan did. Other's take a lifetime. And then there are the few, who just throw themselves into it and let life happen." His eyes then widened a bit. "But please warn me if you decide to do that last one. I don't think my heart could handle it otherwise."

After a bit more talking, Rick admitted that he was actually getting tired, hinting that he wanted to be alone with his thoughts for a time. He really wanted Roy to stay home, though, upon hearing that Tyler was waiting for his return, he reluctantly let him go. And like a worried father, he swallowed his pride and more or less asked Ryan to make sure the two of them didn't do anything...too stupid.

"I promise I won't." Ryan said and awkwardly stuck out his and for his dad to shake. "I'm glad to see the change in you. Perhaps next time I can take Damion over to meet you."

Rick stared at Ryan's hand before reluctantly shaking it. Though, he narrowed his eyes slightly at the following comment. "Don't push it Ryan. I still need time to process, well, all of this." He let go, turning to head into the kitchen. "...
perhaps during the Summer barbecue." He then picked up his newspaper and went back to reading through it.

Roy sighed, chuckling. "Let's go, Ryan."

Ryan chuckled and gave his mom a hug. "love you." He let go and walked out of the house,feeling more at peace than he did when he first arrived.

Back in Ryan's car and on their back to Damion and Tyler, Roy let out a breath he had no idea he was holding. "That...went a whole lot better than I ever could have expected." He leaned back into his seat. "I think things are going to be okay. At least, I hope so. Ugh, but what if this is just a 'good moment'? Something worse might happen at dad's job. Or worse, mom gets a job and it makes things go sideways!?" He groaned. "But first, I have to not make a fool of myself in front of Tyler..."

"Take a deep breath little brother. Everything will be ok." Ryan said and ruffled Roy's hair,before turning onto the highway.

Roy followed Ryan's advice to try and calm himself down. "I don't think I can do this. Tyler doesn't even like me, he likes the notes I write and... I can't do this, I need air. Let me out." He said this despite Ryan's car being a convertible and the hood was down.

Ryan rubbed Roy's back,concerned for his little brother. "Hey,it'll be alright. Tyler said he was gonna talk to you and had to talk to him,if you guys ever wanted to date. Remember?" Ryan said softly.

Roy leaned on the edge of the door, watching the scenery fly by. "I'm aware of that, but it doesn't change my lack of confidence." He sighed. "Tyler is way too nice. Not only is he good-looking, he's so much stronger than me. I'm just a weed compared to him. The world looks upon me such disdain, how dare I try to fit? Truly, this garden is only meant for the exquisite. Those who exude beauty like the sun its beaming rays..."

Ryan couldn't help but laugh as he heard his brother. "Are you turning into a goth?" Ryan asked as he took a turn,as he started to head back into his town.

Roy scoffed. "Like hell. I'd truly be in utter despair then." He huffed and faced forward. "I just...even when he was upset with me, he had the courage to step up and try to talk to me. I just keep trying to run... Ugh, what's wrong with me?" He slid down into his seat.

"Nothing is wrong." Ryan said as he stopped at a red light. "You're finding out who you are and when being who you are is different than everyone else,its hard and takes a lot of courage. Trust me." few minutes later,they arrived at the ouse. Ryan turned off the car and got out. "Are you ready?"

Roy glanced up at Ryan. He really admired the other. He'd gotten kicked out, stayed with his high school love, owned his own business...the man was an inspiration. If I was a bit more like him...but I can't because I'm me. With a sigh, he sat up. "Nope. But as with boxing, once the gloves are up, you can't put 'em down till it's over." He got out and headed towards the door.

Damion had been watching television when he heard the distinct sound of a certain car. "Hey, Tyler, they're back!"

"I hope everything went ok." Tyler said as he waited anxiously. "That's my little bro." Ryan said with a smile and went into the house and hugged Damion. "Everything went surprisingly well. Dad is starting to accept me and Roy being gay and when we have the summer barbeque,he said he'd meet you."
