Welcome to Kageford

After a long hard journey the settlers have found a new home. A small Island in the river kage has been selected as a temporary base of operation. The soil here is good, and there are a few good points at which the river may be forded. One day this could be a prosperous trading post, but for now it is a mere collection of Tents. A fornight to the west over rocky terrain lies the grand city of Cossington, And little is known about the surrounding landscape.

For whatever reason you have thrown in your lot with this rag tag group of settlers and thier young leader Lord Septimus no Ave. Septimus offers all who wish to join him a fresh start, asking no questions about a person's past, only that they work together for the good of the yet to be established community.

The first Drunham to be born with 'The Gift' in five generations, Halbar was given the attention of a young Mozart performing spells at as young as age 3. Brought up in a family of noble warriors the youth is naturally an artist when it comes to the battlefield, with his favored weapon of the Longspear, he has been described as beautifully deadly...

A Cast of Characters II: Non-player Characters.

1. Septimus no Ave

More adorable then impresive, the young nobleman stands about 5 feet and 9 inches tall with brown eyes and short blond hair. At his side he wears a b*****d sword, although by his apperance it looks largely for show.

2. Mitsurugi

Little is known of the red haired young man. With his small stature and lack of nulging muscles, it's no wonder he left an apprenticeship at the forge to join the small band.

3. Mokuren

The young woman is always ready with a smile, though a close look at her eyes will tell you that much has happened to her in the past. She always carries around a basket of flowers, selling them at reasonable prices.

Common Knowlegde/Background Information

The vast kingdom of Romanji is ruled by King Vorenus IV the latest in a long line of rulers from the Minamoto Clan.

Years are recorded by the year of a rulers rule. Most characters would have been born in between Vespasian II 37 and Vespasian II 41.

The 6th of Ox The Year of Our Lord, King Vorenus IV, 12

Cocks crow and the golden sun rises as a new day begains. Settles arise and light campfires, the smells of smoke and breakfest quickly filling the air. The young noble Septimus no Ave wanders the camp greeting each of the settlers as he passes. He smiles brightly at all those he sees, the optimism of youth seeping from his very pores.

As the morning progresses Septimus finds a chest to stand on at the middle of the island. Having gained most of the settlers attention he begains to speak.
" My friends we have journeyed far, and you must all be tired but now is not the time to rest. These tents are not adaquate shelter for long. And planiting must be done well before Homatsuri. Also we must explore our surounding who knows what wonders or sdangers may be found on the far side of the kage! So I need volunteers, who shall ford the river and survey what lies beyond?" The charmisatic young man pauses and awaits a response.

Erenas joins Septimus next to the chest and bows before him, then says "I shall go." he pauses for a second "When do I leave?"

Septimus nods slightly to Erenas and then redirects his attention to the assembled settlers, "Erenas shall go explore, and who shall go with him?"  

[Tokitoka]

Rubbing the small of his back and grumbling to himself as he exits his tent, he looks at the rest of the camp, and noting Septimus, he ambles over and gives a lazy half bow. As he raises back up, he cracks his neck a few times, and takes in a slow, calm breath."Is it wise to cross the river just yet?? are there no powerful enough diviners or sorcerers amongst us to scry the area across before we needlessly risk the lives of men??"  

[Chia Toma]

Denia looks up from her position near one of the tents and walks towards Septimus, "I Denia will too cross the stream, for what lies beyond is unknowable to those who cannot see. Life need not be wasted if caugtion and preparation is well made in advance" she spoke gently  

[Uninterested_Man]

Halbar standing already at the front speaks in a pronounced voice, ignoring Qew's bellyaching, "Septimus, they'll need someone with their wits about them.. I hope you'll trust me to keep them safe."

Addressing mister complainy "Qew was it right? Well as you can see this is a rather rag tag group of refuges slash settlers so it's doubtful that some of such talents is with us, otherwise they would probobly be stepping forward right about now..." Septimus pasues dramatcially, as if to allow for a powerful diviner to step forward. "Well then thats why I'm sending a scouting party, this way we will know before something dangerous from across the river won't takes us all by suprise in our sleep." Septimus turns to Halbar and addresses him, "Halbar my old friend, your family has long served my and it seems that even now in this new begining that tradition remains strong. I entrust the scouting party into your care." He then turns to Denia and Erenas, I pray for your succes and have faith in your abilities."
Septimus dismouts the chest and heads towards another settler.  

[Uninterested_Man]

"Ever am I your loyal companion Septimus," he says with a light bow, "I'll not dissapoint" he assures his friend

Septimus, approaches the figure of Mitsurugi and they begin conversing in low voices.

Denia picks up her kitten and places it in her rucksack so it will be safe, "Well I am all prepaired, shall we move?"  

[Uninterested_Man]

"Yes," the youth started, "anyone coming with us we're about to be on the move, bring what you need"
