Diana's feet touched the carpet of leaves, just a few rustled as her wings settled. Earth had become interesting again, that light show from the night before had been interesting, and Diana had been drawn to the mystery, and this forest in particular.

Shade landed on a branch to Diana's left and gave a few questioning caws, as if inquiring about the events of that night. Turing to face the raven Diana shrugged, the gossamer sash around her shoulders catching rays of light as she did so.

"Your guess is as good as mine," She responded. "I'm sure the humans have some up with some boring and complete wrong explanation. Bet we'll find something cool though, and a lot more interesting the the normal mess they got going around here."

She sniffed a bit, testing the air as her ears twitched, trying to pick up any sound that was difrant from the normal forest buzz.

Castiel groaned as he trudged through sparse woods that didn't seems to have an end.

What have i done?

The cold night air chilled him to the bone and he felt it. Goosebumps speckled his pale skin as he trembled.

Father, what have I done?!

His muscles burned, his head ached, his vision blurred...

His legs gave out and he fell against a nearby tree, gasping at the pain that surged through him upon contact. He spent a few moments watching his ragged breaths that were like ghosts being expelled from within him.

If only.

A violent shudder racked his body and instinctively Cas wrapped his arms around himself. That's when it clicked and with trembling hands he hastily buttoned up his trench coat then curled up, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

He was at a loss. As an angel, when he suffered an injury or many injuries all the pain, all of the impediments, were one. One source. As a human, or close enough, there were so many pains, so many sources, and you could differentiate between them each and everyone of them...

It was suffocating.

But he couldn't succumb. Not yet, anyway.

Dean...

Castiel closed his eyes and dug down deep for his dwindling grace. It took a few minutes but he found it and latched onto it. He used it to warm himself, to sooth his chapped skin and any other minor cuts and bruises he had.

Tired... Sleep. I need to sleep.

Once he had restored himself, using as little of his grace as he could, he arranged for his grace to maintain a minimal level of warmth in him throughout the night. Once he finished his preparations, he curled up against the cold, stiff tree bark and closed his eyes.

After a half hour of stillness, he whimpered.

"Why isn't this working..."

Her right ear twitched, there was a sound of breathing, pained and labored. Then a smell, human but not quite. Something was close, maybe even a something that could tell her just what happened. Checking to make sure that her great sword was securely strapped to her back Diana followed the scent and sound. Whistling two herself as she did so as Shade glided ahead, alert eyes seeking out what his companion had scented.

It was a short time later that she came across what seemed to be a human sleeping against a tree, shivering against the cold. Diana did what any rational Kitsune would do in such a situation, she sought out a long stick and used it to poke the male on his nose.

"Hey tan guy, you do know its kinda silly to be sleeping against a tree, did you get lost?" She poked him again for good measure as Shade landed on the brown haired man's head and tugged a few rands of hair up.

The second he felt the pressure of the scratchy pointed end of a stick prodding his nose his muscle memory kicked in. His eyes snapped open and with supernatural speed he had the intruder pinned against the tree he was just resting against and his angel blade against the offender's throat. His hand was trembling with fatigue but otherwise he was standing strong with the power of adrenaline.

"Who are you?" he rasped, his voice deeper and more gravelly with exhaustion.

Diana gave a yelp of protest as she was slammed against the tree, her ears went back and her grey eyes narrowed with annoyance. She shifted a bit, though she was careful to to excite the man to much, after all she could feel that sharp blade drawing a bit of blood.

"No need to be rude, can you let me go, my sash might get wrinkled."

Three of her tails twitched, as Shade gave an irritated caw at being shaken form his perch and plucked a few strands of Castiel's hair.

"Let me go, we can try talking..or do I have to see if that coat of yours looks better in charcoal?"

Castiel paused as realization dawned on him of what had pinned to a tree.

Six... Seven... Eight... Nine.

"You're a kitsune..."

He pulled back cautiously, weapon still tight in his grasp and at the ready but the angel was no longer on the offensive.

"Forgive me but circumstances don't allow me to be trusting."

He had so many enemies. So many.

And they were all justified...

"I noticed," Diana responded with irritation as she rubbed at her neck, just a small cut, nothing worth the energy to heal. She looked over the human, he didn't look like much, messed up dark hair, battered rain coat and a tie that was on backwards. "Get lost on your way to the office? If so you're quite a bit away from any human habitation."

Shade flew to land on her shoulder, some of Castiel's hair clutched in his beak.

Castiel was completely taken aback by her words but quickly recovered. His head tilted to the side in confusion and said softly, "You don't know-" he decided on a different question mid sentence and asked the revised one more firmly. "How long since you've been on Earth?"

"About a day," Diana shrugged offhandedly, "It'ts not to much fun here, everything is to loud and fast and it's just not that interesting, well until that light show, that was kinda cool. I figured I'd stick around see what its all about." Diana looked the not quite human over. "So you going to tell me how you moved that fast? Humans here can't normally do stuff like that." And then almost as an after thought.

"I'm Diana by the way, the whole getting shoved against a tree doesn't make for a good introduction."

"You only arrived yesterday? How long were you gone?"

Castiel needed to know how much she knew. Not that he could take the stranger at her word but he really didn't have a choice. He wasn't sure if she knew of the existence of angels or if she did know but was unaware they walked the Earth once more... Permanently as of late.

"A few years, its hard to keep track you know. Some much exploring of other places." Diana blinked at him. "So do you know whats going on, or are you asking random questions? Cause if so I might just go off, see if I can find out on my own, not much fun just standing around talking about nothing. That and it is kinda poilite to give your name, after all I told you mine. Or am I just going to have to call you mister Grumpy Butt?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 15, 2013 10:34 pm
"You really don't know..." Castiel's grip on his sword relaxed. "To be honest, I don't know where to begin..."

As he went to sheath his blade, he stopped when thought occurred to him. He held it up, not in a threatening way but in a demonstrative way.

"Do you recognize this? Do you know what it is?"

"I would hope that I know what a sword looks like," Diana smirked, then indicated her own great sword, still strapped to her back. "Though it is a bit small, I'm sure it has it's uses I just like my weapons a bit larger." Diana didn't move to close, in case Mister Grumpy Butt decided to try for more tree slamming. "So you going to tell me what this is all about Grumpy Butt?"

Dropping his armed hand to his side, Castiel sighed. "I apologize for being rude and rough but I can't trust anyone at the moment."

Except Dean.

"Though you seem trustworthy, many seemingly trustworthy people before you have proven themselves to be otherwise. On top of that... With everything that's happened, with all of my failures, I can't even trust my own judgement anymore." Castiel's grip on his blade suddenly tightened in frustration. "I can't be sure if you have truly been absent from Earth long enough to not know what's happening, to not have chosen sides. I can't know for certain that you are not an assassin or a victim seeking vengeance. I'm afraid I cannot give you my name. Not yet. For now call me..."

The angel went silent for a moment.

"Call me Winchester."

Diana's ear twitched just slightly, not a real name, then again she didn't give her full name either so she let that slide, still it was open for a bit of teasing.

"So like the rifles, or that house? You know then one with all the twisty turny rooms and a few ghosts wondering around here and there."

She was starting to get a little bored, after all if Winchester did know something more he wasn't sharing and Diana was wondering if there was even a point to sticking around, after all she could be off exploring in stead of wasting time talking with the grumpy man.
