The captain's house

The house of Captain Roseless Thorn was actually smaller than that of most, the man didn't need much space beyond a large single room for recieving his squad members and fellow captains and a bedroom only large enough for a bed and wardrobe.
The 'anteroom' held a large writting desk of polished dark wood carved in running wolves, behind that sat a high backed arm chair the nearly looked like a throne with dragons and thorned vines carved in the dark wood. The rest was native american and irish style furnishings with three-legged stools for anyone besides the captain to sit on and a rug woven in patterns of reds and black and tan tones and a circle of cushions for when he felt the impulse to lounge with company instead of sit at the desk. It was more a second office than a dwelling, but in a corner behind the desk stood an artist's easle (SP?) and a more comfortable chair with it's seat filled with sketch books and novels. With the redwood hot tub out back perhaps it was more than a second office, but since guests only came on some sort of business none but him really knew that possibility.

Thorn groaned, lolling his head back as he soaked in the wooden hot tub behind his quarters, for some reason he held a bar stool in his hand hanging off the edge.

Thorn growled, "Got a name Soul Reaper, apply in the positions thread to make it official if you're really interested."

Thorn's shunpo flickered chaotically, seemed that way, as he appeared in the anter-room of his quarters and carefully stripped off his ruined white robe of rank and the black underneath it and left them on the floor as he stumbled to his bedroom, using his long zanpakto as a walking stick. Once there he just threw himself face-down on the large bed and mumbled frustration into his pillow. His robes were ruined by the long slash that ran up the full length of his back and another in his arm, but his frustration wasn't the wounds. "Haha, she's not here to send for the medics... Just a short nap first..." His words fell off as his eyes closed slowly before he willed them too...

Kyoko slowly crept into the front room. She didn't see him in the room, so she looked harder. There was a door behind his desk. She smiled. How tricky! she thought. No one would ever find it in the dark. She looked back at the front door. The sun was disappearing behind the sekki-sekki wall of the Seireitei. She shunpoed through the door so she would not wake him up. She stared at him, zonked out on the bed. She shunpoed back out the door and left.

She crept into the room again. Night had completely set by the time she returned. She held a blanket and a key in her hands. Kyoko unfolded the blanket and gently laid it over Thorn. She laid the key on the bed next to his hand. She stepped back and leaned down to pick up the robes on the floor. She laid them across the side of the hottub.


(( Thorn: I was watching Bleach the other night and i found out something. The black robe is called a SHIHAKSHO.))

Thorn groaned in his sleep both times Kyoko snuck in to check on him, each time the slash on his back was slightly further along in it's recovery. When he finally woke it was actually so far along squad 4 healing wasn't needed. He'll always carry the scars she gave him, badges of honor and ways to remember his lieutenant. He groaned as he pushed himself up from the bed and looked at the blanket draped over him and the fresh uniform and robes, those brought a smile. "Thanks Kyoko." Somehow he knew she did it, but no idea how if she was supposed to be in the world of the living.... Could he have slept long enough she should be back already?

Kyoko turned to look at him. She rushed over to his bed and grabbed his hands. "Are you alright?" she asked softly. "You've been sleeping since noon." She leaned over and hugged him tightly.

He blinked in surprise, he hadn't realized she was in the room just speaking out load to fill the silence. Smiling he hugged her back, "I'm alright.... since noon?" That answered that, she hadn't left yet.

Kyoko smiled. "Yeah. Your wounds must have been pretty bad. I don't have to leave until I'm ready." She put a hand on his back to see if the scar was still there. "Thorn... I should be punished for this." She pulled away and her determined gaze burned into his.

Thorn didn’t even flinch as she touched the new mark decorating his back, it wasn’t tender enough for that not with the news she could stay just a bit longer…. He blinked when he heard her words, looking up at her a smile spread across his face, “You’re really cute when you look like that..”

Kyoko stared at him and slapped him on the cheek. "Now isn't the time! You need to hurry up and get back to sleep so I can leave." her eyes flashed with amusement.

Thorn's cheek felt hot and his eyes buldged from the force of the slap, or rather to exagerate the force of it, blinking as if to clear his vision. "Sleep? I think I have a concussion, you can't go with your captain in this condition." Jutting out his bottom lip and looking up with his eyes like saucers as he actually managed a slight trembling.
