A young genome sat beneath a tall apple tree. He wasn't the tallest thing in the world, being around five feet, six inches tall, but he was strong and lean. Like most genomes, he had shoulder-length hair and a long monkey-like tail. His hair and tail fur were black. His eyes were yellow. He wore a black, sleeve-less tunic that showed off his chest, a pair of black boots, some blue pants, and a black beret with a white feather sticking out of it. The hat was worn at an angle, giving him a roguish look. He wore blue gloves that looked sort of like mitts except that the index fingers were seperate from the other fingers.

Kinta Bladetail was feeling quite moody, which was proven by the way his tail slowly thumped the ground over and over again. It was quite uncommon for him to be like that and it would no doubt make his companions worry. Well, what's left of them anyway.

Moon the arsial had to return to Manadara. His father, King Rowan, took the human babe Ayame, promising that he'll find a suitable home for her. Adli the wizard was killed in a battle. (Kinta's hand strayed to what was left of his right ear, which half was removed during that battle)

Kinta took a bite out of a tart apple, then sighed and dropped it. He didn't even want to eat.

Not too far from a particular apple tree, a boy, Ciro Silverhorn to be exact, was running as fast as he could from a girl no older than him. He was the same exact height as the person chasing him, which was about 5'5". His unique silver hair was short and parted to the side, his eyes were a dark purple. "For the love of god, I said I was sorry!" He yelled back to her, stumbling over a rock as he was making his escape. As he caught his balance, he looked up to see a stranger sitting among the tree's branches. "Hey, what are you-"

He was cut the second his pursuer leapt unto his back. She tugged at the sides of his cheeks from behind. He must have been used to this sort of thing to remain standing like that. "I'm gonna kill you, Oniichan!" She hissed. Her long silver hair reached her waist, but it was currently knotted and messy to the point that random strands hund down in front of her face. Big lilac eyes, one curiously darker than the other, that were normally filled to the brim with childlike excitement where now on fire from pure rage. She was wearing what was probably some form of pajamas, but instead of a cute nightgown her clothing was made up of baggy pants, an over-sized T-shirt, and no shoes what-so-ever.

"Come on, Evelina! I swear, I didn't-" He was interrupted a second time, but this time even what he did say was pretty much incoherent thanks to his pulled and sore cheeks.

"Didn't what? Think that the rooster you left sitting in my bedroom would wake me up at sunrise? Or that the freshly waxed would have me slipping every which way I went? Or prehaps you didn't realize that the little demon from your summoning spell would attack me when I happened to stumble upon it in the bathroom!" Her tone dripped with bitter sarcasism as she realized the hold on his face and hoped off his back. Before he could show signed of relief for his freedom, she brought over her leg in a round-house kicking style to send him crashing into the closest tree trunk.

((Sorry that I haven't been posting for weeks. Having trouble with the move. Even though my family just got internet again, I don't think I'll be able to RP normally until everything's been settled.))

Kinta's thoughts were interrupted by the commotion the two young ones were causing. Forgetting his troubles, Kinta watched them curiously. It was no surprise that people were around. They weren't far from the town, Kinta's source of misery.

"That was nicely done," Ken said after he saw the girl kick the boy.

[[It's alright, I understand.]]

Evelina blew some stray hair out of her face, fists clenched angrily at each side. She blinked in surprise, snapped out of her fury when she heard a voice addressing her from above. She craned her neck back farther than necessary, adjusting it's position when she saw where the source of the voice sat. She tilted her head just a bit to one side. "Oh, umm. . .thank you?" She was a little confused to find an outsider sitting in the tree, but this only jump started her curiousity as to who he really was in the first place.

"You little brat, that hurts!" Ciro groaned, his back against the very tree he had crashed into. He forced himself back onto his feet, making his way over to her. He placed his hand on top of her head before using the opposite arm to get her in a headlock. The "noogie" based punishment began afetr that. "Now now, you should present yourself lady. Instead you ran around half the town in your pajamas looking like-"

"Like a what?!" The girl shouted, stomping as hard as she could on his foot. He yelled out in pain, and she considered that just payback for the headache he had given her. With a short huff, she turned and started stomping off back toward the nearest houses, not even bothering to attempt to fix her messy bed head or straighten her not-so-flattering clothing.

The twin left behind sighed, rubbing the back of his head. He knew that was all he would have to deal with concerning his morning pranks, but he still didn't look forward to returning home where a huge mess awaited him. It was then that he remembered the stranger still up in the apple tree. "Hey!" He decided some tavern advertising wouldn't harm anyone. Besides, he had nothing better to do at the moment. "You got a place to stay?"

Kinta looked up at the sky. He could tell that the night will be cold and rainy. As much as he hated it, he knew he had to go to town and stay the night there. The genome was very vulnerable to colds. He looked down at Ciro.

"I could use a drink."

He hopped out of the tree's branches and landed neatly on his feet.

"Alright, follow me." The teenage boy started making his way back to town at a brisk pace. He wanted to avoid the oncoming storm that was bound to sweep through the area by supper. Even if it started drizzling he would no doubt be forced to change into dry clothing. Besides, he still had chores waiting for him at home. Hopefully he could finish early and escape to some safe haven before his sister was let off from her work as well.

"My name's Ciro, by the way. Ciro Silverhorn." He introduced himself for the sake of a more friendly appearing manner, using his full name rather than just the first half of it. He shook his head back very lightly to shake his hair back into it's rightful position. This small movement was enough to accomplish his goal in fixing the mop of silver hair without having to so much as touch it. And he wouldn't have been stuck raising up a hand at all if he hadn't noticed the few leaves hanging from within the silver strands. He sighed, picking the green foliage away from his head. "Little sisters. They're great, really." He muttered.

"Kin--" Kinta stopped before he could say his whole name. It would be a very bad idea for anyone in the town to know his name. The genome thought quickly.

"Atnik," Kinta said. "M'name's Atnik."

[[xD I love the name!]]

The boy seemed surprised by the name. "That's-" He caught himself before he continued, not wanting to come off as rude. "That's a very unique name." He finished, turning his gaze to the path in front of the two. As they were walking, Ciro kept a close eye out for any other familiar persons who may want to talk to him about the day's events. Depending on the person, he may either be congraluted or pummeled into the ground. Needless to say, he preferred to avoid the second of the two possibilities.

"So, Atnik, I'm guessing you'll need a room as well as a home cooked meal. Our tavern can provide that much for you easily. If you want, you can head straight to the dining hall while a room is prepared." He offered the stranger.

"Yeah. My parent's must've been on somethin' when they named me that," Kinta said, following the boy. When they reached the tavern, Kinta bobbed his head once. "Thank you."

He went into the dining room and sat down. A man nearby looked up from his meal.

"Howdy there. Say, haven't we met somewhere?"

Kinta recognized the man but did not admit it. Looking at his gloved hands, he replied, "No, sir. I don't think we have."

There was a crash coming from the direction of the kitchen.

"Evelina! My dishes!"

"Owwie. . .it's okay, really, I'm fine. It's not like I cut my hand on the broken glass or anything." The second voice could be heard as Ciro pushed open the door.

A sigh came from the cook, a slightly older woman who could be seen standing by the stove. She looked like a taller version of the youngest sister, but her hair was a pale pink and tied up in a loose bun. She kneeled down, wrapping up Evelina's hand with a clean rag. "You can bandage it properly later. . .wait a second, where did those bruises come from?!" The younger of the two was hidden by the wall, so her injuries remained a mystery to the eavvsdropping guests.

Soon enough Evelina was hurrying out into the dining area, her left hand wrapped up in the white cloth. "It's nothing!" She was holding up a tray in skillfully in one hand as she manuvered around tables. Her hair had been combed and made presentable by now with a small section on one side fashioned into a braid with a lilac coloured laced ribbon running through it, weaving in and out of her silver hair. Her waitress uniform was a cross between a maid outfit and something you'd find in an anime waitress cosplay. The girl slipped two plates as well as drinks onto a nearby table before leaning the tray against her hip and turning toward Kinta. "Oh, hi! Your the guy from earlier right?" Evelina smiled as she recognized him. She took a menu from the bottom of the tray, having been prepared for new customers. She handed it to him before turning to walk back to the kitchen. "I'll be right back to get your order!"

Kinta stuck his hand into one of his pockets and messed with the bag of gold inside. He could tell that he had more than enough money to pay for a room and meal. Those swords he sold a while back were really worth a lot!

When Evelina returned to get Kinta's order, then genome said, "I'm not very hungry. Some apple cider, please." Kinta paused a moment. "Actually, I think I would like some cheese and broccoli soup, grilled steak with mashed potatoes, a spinich and strawberry salad, an apple pie... No, wait, make that two pies. Some bread with honey, and..."

After about six more items, Kinta was finished ordering.

Evelina blinked in surprise, her scribbles on the small notepad unable to keep up with his order. She couldn't help but laugh at his alarming appetite as she slowly shook her head from side to side. "Slow down a second!" She repeated his order in a quiet voice as she wrote it down to help recall everything he had said. "Alright, I think I got it!" She tucked the pen behind her ear as she skimmed over his list. Somehow she hadn't missed even one order of food, and it all fit on the single sheet of paper.

His waitress started by serving him his apple cider. While his food was being prepared in the kitchen, she was busy running around to other tables, seeming to be the only employee serving the food. She must have been used to the busy work because she hadn't even attempted to take a five minute break yet. Once about half of Kinta's order had been cooked and made ready to serve, she was slipping the plates on his table one by one. "I'll get the rest when your done with these." She promised him, knowing the entire meal wouldn't fit on his two-seater table.

Kinta smiled. "Thank you."

He began eating. When he was finished with the first half of his meal, the genome took a gulp of apple cider and belched. He sighed and waited for the other half of his meal to arrive. It seemed that the young man's mood had improved.
