Welcome, one and all, to Sci-Fantasia: The Writer's Guild. As the name suggests.... this is a guild for writers. If you write short stories, long stories, novels, essays, poetry, lyrics, "ah-hah!" moments, dream journals... WHATEVER........... here is where you'll be welcomed. Also, those who just like to read original works are welcome to join. People with certain criteria met from the beginning or who have earned it through time and effort put into their activity in the guild have the opportunity to get their own subforum (see main forum for details; this is why there's an entry fee).
If you're the type of person who's not willing to make a commitment to be really active on a guild or thread (or you just have more of a life outside of gaia and still make appearances), this is definitely a good place for you. Being really active (like with most guilds) is not necessary. You're free to come and go as you please, post when you want (if at all) and look through any part of the guild. Things here are more laid back.
If what I've said thus far hasn't been enough to intrigue you, check out the guild for yourself, or message people who are members of the guild and ask them what they think. All who read and/or write well are welcome. I also will openly advertise other guilds (will discuss this with whoever sends me PMs concerning this).
Criteria for Joining the Guild:
In your join request you will need the following
~ Identify whether you will be posting your works in the guild or just reading
~ (if you're a writer) tell me the kinds of writings you prefer to write (novels, short stories, poetry, essays, etc...). List as many as you favor. If you write em all.... just say you write all types or "freelance"
~ Tell me the types of things you like to read. Don't only say the types of writings, but also favorite genres (sci-fi, fantasy, romance, etc...). List all the ones you like.
~ Give me one random fact about yourself. Something that's specific to you that's sort of a "get-to-know-you" for me and all other's that'll be accepting your invites.
Following these criteria shows me that you've read the homepage and understand what this guild is about. It also tells me that you're willing to make an effort to be apart of this experience. Once I (or another crew member) have accepted the invite, if you have places online where your work is posted (anywhere on Gaia is included), send me a PM with links to a couple of those works and tell me if you have more. Title it "Sci-Fantasia: My Work". This goes along with earning your own subforum. If you don't care about having one, or you're not planning on posting many (or any) writings, you don't have to send me anything.
