During Black Friday, everything seemed well, but something was still amiss, as people suddenly began to become ill after a whole days worth of shopping. Hospitals flooded with patients as they tried to figure out what was happening, and it was determined, it was a Smallpox outbreak. Manhattan, where the virus struck hard was immediately quarantined, ans civil disorder grew after a few days. With society falling apart, the President of the United States signed Directive 51, activating a secret organization within the Strategic Homeland Defense, known only as The Division.
The moment it was signed, the government recruited these Agents, who went through training and then would go to sleep as they returned into society, blending in completely until woken up. The Division was finally woken, the 1st Wave, is what the first batch of Agents to wake up were called, mobilized, grabbed their gear and attempted to restore order. The Dark Zone is central Manhattan, where the virus struck the hardest but still people remained but was a strategic location. The Joint Task Force or JTF, comprised of National Guard, Police Department, Fire Department, and Medical Personal, went to the Dark Zone to gain control, but found it to be futile and were forced out, with many 1st Wave Agents dying in the process.
The 2nd Wave of Division Agents were activated to regain control of what was lost. As the 2nd Wave Agents gathered, their transport was destroyed, killing many 2nd Wave Agents. Eventually, The Division regained control of a strategic location, The Post Office where The Division and JTF use as a Base of Operations. With the Base of Operations running, new challenges arise as they must protect the Base, while going out to gather supplies to maintain it. But other dangers loom in the shadows. Will you confront them?
