Riven was the capital city of Raiven, and to say it was massive would be like saying the sky was blue. It was the largest city the land had to offer with large amounts of farm land outside the wall and on the cliff that hung over the city was the castle of Queen Malvanie the III. While to an outsider this city seemed like any other there was more going on here then most knew. For aside from the Queen and her court there was also another ruler here. Garrett Kiven, the King of Thieves. He came to the throne like many before him, by the way of assassination. Garrett was a young "king", but talented for his age. He was only 17, but had been at this for quite some time and it was said he had some kind of magic about him. Aside from the king and guild there was also a small group of female thieves know as the nightingales, lead by the Lady of Thieves, Jean Mattson. Really all in all they where just one big group, yet unlike may other kings Garrett kept a tight ship, there wasn't anything going on he didn't know about and the guild, which was once just a safe haven for thieves to come and rest became a full on guild with people coming and going and doing things not only for themselves but for the good of the guild. Though if there was one thing Garrett hated it was, what he called, stray kittens. Thieves who worked outside of the guild where not only a danger to their business but could draw unwanted attention. This was a no no, thus Garrett always offered them to join, if not they where given a warning if they didn't heed that warning they where dealt with.
The main base of the guild was the undergrounds of a tavern call "The silver coin" oddly enough ran by Jean Mattson's brother, Sol, along with his wife. One need only to come in, walk to the bar and say "There be a court below." and Sol would let them into a back room that had a door leading down into a large open chamber of stone with several eating areas, another bar just for thieves, and several room with a large amount of beds. Also among it all was a large chair that most called the king's throne and it was where Garrett sat when he was there. Below this was a training room for the newer people with dummies that had bells hanging from them to train how to properly pick a pocket or cut a purse.
