-----------------------------------

The world of the Late Bronze Age and ours today have more similarities than one might expect, particularly in terms of relationships, both at the personal level and at the state level. Thus, they had marriages and divorces, embassies and embargoes, and so on. They also had problems with climate change and security at the international level. These are not necessarily unique to just them and us, but the combination of similar problems (climate change and drought, earthquakes, war, economic problems) at the very same time just might be unique to both. War and politics have been the focal point of the downfall of many dominant nations over the course of world history; poor economic decisions have also led to countries falling, people dying from hunger, and revolutions changing the course of the world.

The driving force behind these great ages rising and falling has always been humans. The history of humankind has been marked by patterns of growth and decline. Some declines have been gradual, occurring over centuries. Others have been rapid, occurring over the course of a few years. Wars, droughts, natural disasters, and disease, over population, economic disruptions: any of these or a combination of these events can bring about the collapse of a civilization. Internal causes (such as political struggles or over farming) can combine with external causes (such as war or natural disaster) to bring about a collapse. What does this mean for us?

The world has spiraled into a pattern of rapid decline. Nations are quarreling over debt and threats of war are whispered in the shadows. In any case the patterns of political collapse are evident in the world. World leaders are grasping for control while others are reaching out to conquer. The money may be virtually gone but their forces are armed and ready for the finally collapse. The world powers are using the last of their funds attempt to stabilize the economy in some form while others are generating powerful weapons for war in order to destroy their enemies. In the cities and towns wars of their own go on between the police forces and the gangs. Innocent civilians struggle to live normally as mob-rule has officially set in. The majority of major businesses have members of the Special Security Enforcement Team on their property to protect it. Unfortunately, smaller businesses find themselves paying security money to the local Gangs.

Things are very unstable and are likely to get worse. The government has been broken down and a mysterious figure is now in control. They managed to gather the power and aid of several, currently unknown, world moving figures to successfully manipulate the government into doing what they desire. This show of force from the mysterious individuals has added even more uncertainty to the world. Three groups stand out in this chaos as it begins to unfold. The Riastrad is a gang with a violent and military like in behavior they are the warriors and vigilantes. The Brotherhood, the most tactical and subtle of the three...they are the hackers and assassins. Lastly, there is the Teotl Lords who are by far the most blood thirsty and ritualistic, they are the chaotic seeking to purge the world and start anew. These groups are growing rapidly by the standards of many. The escalation of their violence is even worse. The government and its puppet masters make attempts to stop them, however, the government is in no position to handle them. A special branch of the police force has formed to combat these gangs. It is named SSET with a smaller branch to take on the Riastrad, Brotherhood, and Teotl Lords named SSET SO. The various organizations stay at each other’s throats, as violence continues to escalate around the world. But what is the most dangerous to the world as it stands? The Gangs, SSET and SSET SO, the mysterious puppeteer, perhaps it’s the threats of war around the world, but all pose a threat and tensions are quickly rising but the biggest enemy cannot be conquered.

The biggest enemy, Fear, still lingers in the hearts of everyone. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it. With so close a relationship between fear and corruption it is little wonder that in any society where fear is rife corruption in all forms becomes deeply entrenched. The effort necessary to remain uncorrupted in an environment where fear is an integral part of everyday existence is not immediately apparent to those fortunate enough to live in states governed by the rule of law. Where there are no such laws the burden of upholding justice and common decency has fallen on ordinary people. It is the cumulative effect of their sustained effort and steady endurance which will change the nation.

You are just a poor soul trapped in the starting location of our world: The United States. You have only one mission; Survival.
Goodluck.

1. Follow Gaia's ToS. This is a guild we want to keep going, and not have it shut down for something 'simple'.
2. No discrimination of any kind. If I find out about discriminatory or and racial acts there will be consequences.
3. Romance and relationships are encouraged! Be realistic though, nobody falls in love the first time they meet. That being said... absolutely NO cybering.
4. Make a unique character that stands out but is logical. Not everyone is going to be an awesome cop and no 16 year old is going to be running around with a machine gun. If they are then they are a member of one of the gangs available and have training, but even then it would be VERY rare. Feel free to make the crazy hobo or teacher pushed over the edge! America is in the beginning of end-game with the world soon to follow! Your character is in the heat of this chaos!
5. You are to be respectful of everyone in the guild.
6. Fighting: There will be gang wars, riots, terrorist acts, and a wide spectrum of chaos in this guild that may result in death of a character. This is NOT a bad thing, but don't be afraid to have to make another character. I will not permit auto-killing or god-modding but be realistic and add to the story. If your character dies I will have them mentioned in the next guild wide announcement with a small memorial and may be another little surprise.
7. Once again. I will not tolerate god-modding, character control, auto-kill, or anything else of the sort. If you get approval from the owner of the character then it is fine. Also, be realistic in combat. Some punk off the street with only three years of fighting under their belt will not be able to take on SSET and would easily die at the hands of SSET SO, that in mind, even the gang leaders would have trouble with SSET and SSET SO. Though, if its 5 gang members on 1-2 ssetso the favor is in the gangs field unless strategy and creative writing is used: Remember its all about the RP.
8. BE ACTIVE. This cannot be stressed enough. If you are inactive, you will be warned. Failure to heed the warning will result in banning.
9. Literacy is mandatory. There is a one paragraph [7-8 sentences] minimum with four sentences for writers block [only once in a while]. If I catch laziness I will message you.
10. Be sure to read every post. Don't skim or skip the posts of others.
11. Report any abuse, rule breaking, or any sort or behavior that troubles you to a member of the crew.
12. Comments, questions, suggestions, etc.. should be made in the designated thread. Complaints can be sent to crew members to be addressed personally.
