They should only count if you got them AFTER the quest started. If you got one before, it won't count.

If you got them both during the quest, then I'm sorry. Just keep killing the turrets until they count them all.

You have to get them after the quest starts, and they can't have been bought in the marketplace.

The heartless beast doesn't count the caps you got before he sent you out to get them. It sometimes seems like he can't count very well the ones you get after, either.

And the beastly mushrooms hardly ever give the dang things out!!
