You get two Rings for free and can find more, meaning everyone starts out on equal footing. Granted, rich people will be able to buy better equipment, but that's the way it goes in EVERY MMO.

A sword summoned by a Ring is still a sword, the only difference is you don't need to own a ridiculously expensive Ancient Katana to swing it.
