Get steam, there's a bunch of free games on there.
I believe you can get Path of Exile for free on steam (for windows, not for mac, unfortunately), I've heard some people talk fondly of it.

You could also try LoL, alot of people seem to like that.

Or as mentioned before, Runescape, but in my opinion Runescape is only fun if it's p2p.

If you don't mind p2p I can also suggest the incredibly expensive WoW, but trust me, it's worth every penny.
