Quick question!

I'm feeling really dumb at the moment.

When writing about the seasons would it be 'Many winters passed' or 'Many winters past'?

I think it's the former but the computer keeps telling me it's the latter.

Not sure if it's just confused or I am.

Well, are you talking about Many winters passing by? Or many winters in the past?

It depends on the context. Many winters passed before she saw him again or in many winters past, she had visited his home.

So I'm going to go with passed.
