Everyone is familair with high school right?
The classes, the teachers, the hallways and lockers. And of course, the defining aspect of high school social life...
The Cliques.
Tucker County High School is no stranger to the concept of cliques. Who you are is defined by who you know and what you do. The students are content (for the most part) in their own social circles, though strays happen and there are those butterflies that flit from group to group. However, all is not sunshine and rainbows in the world of TCHS. With cliques come gossip, rumors, and friction. Drama abounds and fights are not unknown to the school staff. Even the pep rallies and sports events for the school's teams, the Tucker County Bulldogs (And the Lady Bulldogs, of course) there are undercurrents of high school politics.
The Jocks
Soccer, hockey, footbal, wrestling. Volleyball, softball, swimming, cheerleading. You name a sport, these kids are in it. Their walls are covered in ribons and rewards, thier shelves laden with trophies. They might have reputations as being competitive or brutish, aggressive or not very smart, and while that may be true, there are also hearts of gold abounding.
The Populars
Everybody knows them and almost everybody wants to be them. Whether it's their family's legacy, their reputation, or something else, there isn't a soul in the entire school that doesn't know who these kids are and what they've been up to. When there's a party going on, you can bet a Popular is throwing it. Weekends are never a dull affair with one of these kids around.
The Overacheivers
Student council meeting before school, pep club meeting at lunch, honor society meeting after school, and volunteer work on the weekends. You will find these kids at every single one of those, and then some. You can sleep when you're dead, so the saying goes, and that is a motto that these students take right to heart.
The Easy Goers
Much like the populars, the Easy Goers are eveyone's friends, the kind of kids that can get along with pretty much anyone. However, they don't party hard and prefer to take like as it comes. Go with the flow, or so they say. The embodiment of 'Hakuna Matata', there doesn't seem to be anything that can rustle their jimmies.
The Artists
The world is beautiful and no one knows it better than these kids. Whether in paint or in music, on canvas or with the written word, they capture the beauty (and sometimes, the ugly side) or all the world around them. Some of them suffer in silence, their art their only way to express themselves.
The Brains
Pop quiz? No problem. Midterm exam? No problem. That final project that's worth 95% of your grade for the semester? No problem. Not for these kids. Some of them are math buffs. Some of them are science whizzes. Others can tell you the history or the world from the start. What many of them can't tell you, however, is how to make friends.
The Outcasts
No one really understands you, do they? No one knows what it feels like to be standing on the sidelines of everything. No one...but those people that are just like you. Rough family lives, learning difficulties, social anxieties, the Outcasts all have something making life rough. At least they have one another to turn to.
The Rebels
Tell anyone one of these headstrong teenagers not to do something and you know that, not only will they do it, but they'll make sure that you're watching first. Though they occassionally associate with the Outcasts, the Rebels are more prone to making people mad than to making friends with them. They're not going to let anyone tell them how to live thier lives.
