Ashton is ranked as one of the top all boys' boarding schools in the United States. It takes pride in its ability to cultivate
young boys into men who will go on to achieve great things, perhaps in part because the school aims to accept only the
best--in anything, whether it be athletics, academics, or the arts. With a small student body of only a couple hundred, the
competition to get in is rather fierce. In fact, some might say that the school in general possesses a competitive spirit, but

Of course, like any school, Ashton has its fair share of drama, and for some of these boys, there's a different kind. Girls
can't serve as a distraction here, but for those who are attracted to the same sex, this might not matter. They must find
self-acceptance in a place where they might only be tolerated at best, but for these boys, they might also have a shot at

• Please try to post about once a week. I'm lenient about this when people are busy, but there still needs to be some kind of pace. Please try to say something if you're going to be busy for a while so we know what to expect. Also, please let me know if you want to quit.

• Swearing is fine, even like a sailor if it fits your character. Romance is lovely, but that doesn't mean it needs to be rushed, and remember to time skip when the undies come off. Violence can spice things up, but make sure to give the other person a chance to react when it happens--no auto-hitting, and no blocking/dodging everything; be realistic.

• The roleplay has an OOC thread--linked in the introduction post, in case you missed it. Why not put it to use? Get to know the others and discuss plot. It helps when everyone's talking with each other. Communication is key.

• Decent grammar is a must, enough to understand what you wrote. I'd prefer posts to be no less than 3 paragraphs long, but two paragraphs, about six or seven sentences each, is fine, too. There isn't a max paragraph limit, but bigger posts should be done only when necessary (i.e., they shouldn't be composed of needless filler). Remember, quality over quantity.

• Real pictures only. No scenesters/emos, and don't use pictures of yourself or your own name for your character. No more than 2 characters per person. And remember, no one is perfect, and not everyone's pleasant. I'd also like to see some variety--obviously, similarities between characters is okay, but I don't want to see a bunch of musicians, for example.

• Send in the reserve before you send in the profile. The reserve should be titled the name of the thread. Don't worry about how the reserve appears in a PM; it might look broken, but it'll turn out fine in the thread. If you have a samples thread, give me the link with the reserve; otherwise, I will look through your post history to make sure you're literate enough. If and when I accept your reserve, you have 3 days to send me the link to your profile thread, or at least to let me know you're still working on it. The PM can be titled anything, so long as it's not "(No Subject)." Also, when you send me the profile link, tell me what dorm you want your character to be in--or if you want me to randomize it.

• If your character doesn't yet have a roommate, please don't act as though they live in the room alone. I've had that happen before, and it sometimes creates confusion for the other person when they come along later.

For the profile, you'll be sending in a thread. You can decorate it however you want--you can even borrow Derek's or Brayden's layout. The first post of the thread should contain a picture of your character, their full name, and their role/title. Otherwise, information can be ordered in any way you want. Here is the information that is required:

• Age, nickname(s) if any, height, sexual orientation, birthday, grade level
• Likes and dislikes, at least 4 of each
• Personality, either listed out with explanations for each trait or in paragraph form. There should be at least 4 traits, counting the three you listed in the reserve, and at least one of them must be a negative trait, one that will actually affect the character--don't say they have anger problems and never let them get angry, for example
• Bio, which can either be at least two paragraphs or a bullet list of at least 5 facts about their past
• Class schedule. Except for maybe the roleplay's start, we'll play classes only as people need them, or at least only on occasion, but it still wouldn't hurt to have one for the sake of reference. I won't be listing classes to choose from. Just put whatever classes sound reasonable for an all boys' boarding school. Oh, and please try to be in as many classes with others as possible. That way, when we do play classes, your character might have someone to interact with.

That's all the mandatory stuff. You can add other information, like secrets and fears, and a relationship post could be handy for some, but only if you feel it fit to add them.

Student dorms come with a cable outlet, two single beds, two dressers, two closets, and two desks. Each floor has a communal bathroom, with showers divided by stalls. There are 10 rooms per floor.

There'll be a total of six rooms. A seventh might be added at a later date.

Ashton Boarding School is located in Pennsylvania. The closest town is ten minutes away and is one that some of the guys will go to for fun or work when class isn't in session. It's also roughly half an hour from Philadelphia. The school doesn't tolerate bullying of any kind, but that doesn't mean it won't happen when a teacher isn't looking, and there's a GSA, but its membership might be small. It also doesn't mean that everyone at the school is accepting. The school requires all students to be in their dorms by 10:30pm.

Ashton has three buildings. The first is the main building where most of the classes are held, including the library and gym. Attached to the gym is a pool room and a fitness center. The second building holds the dorms, the cafeteria, and the infirmary. There's also a game center with game systems, pool tables, and similar things, and a lounge area with a television and stereo. The lounge area is always open, and the game center is open from the start of dinner to ten at night. The third building is the auditorium. Besides concerts and plays, galleries are also set up here once a quarter.

The school requires its students to wear a uniform during school hours. Earrings are acceptable, but all other piercings must be left out until after class. Otherwise, students may wear whatever they want, within reason, when school isn't in session.

Fri., Nov. 1 - The GSA is having an auction to raise funds for its activities. Anyone can volunteer to be auctioned
off. The auction has been dressed up to appear as though the ones being auctioned off are to do their buyer's
bidding for the rest of that day, but there has been talk that the auction is being done more for dating purposes.
The auction will be held right after school in the auditorium.

Fri., Nov. 8 - Twice a year, Ashton gets together with its sister, Bellhart School for Girls, for a formal dance.

This thread will be continuing from an old one. Perhaps fortunately, not much has happened that will have any lasting consequences on this new thread. All noteworthy things are summarized below (and more will be added as the roleplay develops.)

Previously on Boys Will be Boys:

• There was a Halloween party in the student lounge.


○ Joe and Dae made out on the dance floor. Sean, Joe's best friend, saw. They got into an argument, which ended with Joe storming off and Dae following after him.


• Trent was reassigned rooms, which turned out to be Aaron's. For Trent, avoidance and nervous wrecks ensued. So far, Aaron has caught Trent in a little white lie of faking illness.

Currently on Boys Will be Boys:

• Some people have gone to Preston's after party via limo (Percival, Fin, Sean, Preston) while others have stayed behind on campus (Joe, Dae, Trent, Aaron, Lawrence). (All new characters have the choice of staying behind or starting off with their arrival at Preston's (via limo, if they're friends of Preston, or taking themselves there). And if this sounds fuzzy, just ask.)
