Are you afraid of the things that go bump in the night? Well, love—you should be.
Unless you've been living under a rock, then you have learned in the past few years
to always be home before sun down, to shoot first and ask questions later, and to run
but never, ever hide. The truth is, none of that will ever help you. The monsters that
come out at night are worse than horrible Charles Manson, little Mary Bell, and demented
Diane Downs combined. Many call them freaks, other cowards; but they are cruel, heartless
murderers and they are after you. They prowl the streets at night; most carrying nothing
more than their fangs.

Another Vampire Roleplay!? Never. Because as disappointing as this may be: Vampires
do not exist. But this doesn’t stop the Maquedor family. Little is known of the origins of the
Maquedor family, but their reign of terror is something of a legend. It is said that they are
not a true family at all, simply a cult of murderous villains that wreak havoc across the
globe. Though most things said of the Maquedors are utterly false, one thing remains
true; they seem to believe they are Vampires. Riding into cities in the dead of night, they
break into any building they want, leaving oceans of blood behind. Every victim is
discovered the same, with a large gaping bite wound somewhere on their body.

The police have done all they can to stop the spread of rumors about the Maquedors,
but the public is awake to them. Fans of these so-called Vampires have sprung up
globally, in every country around the world. Though a large percentage of humanity
shivers to think of the Maquedors in their city, countless followers beg for nothing more
than the chance to become a Maquedor. The police are at their wits end and the world
is almost at its knees in the palm of the Maquedors...

As it was and as it is, ever in humanity's darkest hour, a hero arises. New dawn comes
to find a portion of humanity that will not stand by as they are fed upon like cattle. This
new breed of hero comes with the night to instill fear in the darkness. Fighting blade
with blade, tooth with tooth, and these new creatures will go to any extent to see the
Maquedors wiped from the planet. But how far is too far? A war is coming and everyone
must choose a side. To retain your humanity or seek a new beginning, baptized in blood...

Very little is known about the origin of the Maquedors. The most that people can say is
that the killings began over a year ago. In one short year the Maquedors have gone
from unknown killers to haenous global legends. Calling themselves vampires, the
Maquedor family has indeed taken on some characteristics of the fabled legends.

"They are not vampires. They are just freaks, like the Manson family." Stated New York's
Cheif of Police. "They are feeding on people's fears. There's no such thing as vampires
and we're working our hardest to track these guys down. We already have very good
leads on on thier hideout and I feel strongly this'll be done with in a week." This statement
was given just a week after the sixteenth mass homicide linked to the Maquedors. Sadly,
the numbers just kept rising and less and less people believe that vampires are fictional.

One witness' account said it was like, "Nothing I'd ever seen." The witness continues in
a private interview. "Man, it was crazy. I was just chillin' and like eight SUV's pulled up.
All in black, like some Mafia stuff. I seen too many movies, so I knew, you know? You
just get that feeln'. They hopped out, like forty of them. All dressed up like a James Bond
movie and started kicking in doors, dragging people out. Man, at first I was going to get
it on my phone, but I could barely think. Before I knew it, I was running my a** off. I never
moved so fast in my life."

The Maquedors have been spotted all over the globe, much in this same fashion. It is
unclear exactly how many members make up the Maquedor family. It is also unclear how
they remain so very well funded. All accusations of government funding have been ignored.
The one thing that cannot be ignored however, is the state of the victims that span this
ocean of blood. Of the speculated fifteen thousand deaths, over ten thousand of them share
the same trait. The fabled vampire bite. But unlike the snake resembled bite of legend, the
victims of the Maquedor have had their throats ripped out.

According to specialist, Dr. Adam Smith, this is because the Maquedors have all had their
teeth surgically operated on. "You see," The doctor tells our reporter, "The have removed
thier natural canines and replaced them with longer, often steel tipped, sharper ones. They
paint these an ivory white and use these in a barbaric vampire style on thier victims. Really,
its a horrible way to go if you ask me."

But sadly, teeth are not the only thing used by the Maquedors. They have been known to
use anything from swords to RPGs when confronted by the police. Their lack of daytime
movement allows them to hone their skill inside their hideouts, waiting for the fall of night.
The Members of the Maquedors hunt in large groups; their plans are formulated by the
Mother and Father and executed by them all. If one child betrays them or tries to over throw
the power they will be quickly disposed of. There is no margin for error.

So who is the hero in this story? The people of this great nation. After cowering in fear for
too long, a bunch of rag tag vigilantes has put the power in their own hands. They call
themselves Magginnis and dress themselves up like the werewolves of lore. Their one
and only goal is to destroy the cult that has frightened their families for far too long. They
are being privately funded by an anonymous source, and are lucky enough to not have
to go without anything they need. Not only are they supplied with top of the line armory
and weaponry, they also are housed and fed in exchange for their braverysacrifice.

It is true that the Magginnis have had more luck at stopping the Maquedors than the
government funded special ops group dedicated to bringing them down. The people
in the cities are growing restless, they wish to go out of their houses at night. This is
causing the Magginnis to grow in numbers ever day. Can the fear of the undead really
keep the Maquedors from being put to justice? Or will the people of this nation rise again?

Time to find out.

First of all I will not have you title your reservation something ridiculous or put a hidden llama
in the message. If you chose not to read the rules it will show in your roleplaying. The rules
are placed for your benefit because if you fail to follow my rules you will be kindly asked to
leave. Literacy. Alright, my dove; this part is imperative to keep the writing running smoothly.
We understand that you have fabulous ideas, but if we can’t read it then they’re useless.
And I detest the useless. Like Mother always said, “Quality over quantity, love.” This holds
true for you as well. I don’t expect you do write like Charles Dickens, but one liners are like
terrible stains you can’t get out of your clothes, and will be ignored if they aren’t expunged.
Also, as a literate writer there are expectations I will hold you to. I expect you not to Godmod,
Flame, or hold the ability to read minds. Your characters should be motivated by their
desires and their ‘companions’ movements, facial expressions, and dialogue. Do not be
motivated by the narrative; it’s simply unacceptable. If you have a comment to make that is
outside of your writing please take it to the OOC thread. Oh, my pet; be sure to post in the
ooc as often as possible. Here I will be able to monitor your posting status and other
prevalent details. Please inform me a head of time if you are unable to post for period
longer than a two day leave. If you fail to comply with this singular rule your character
will be brutally & graphically disposed of and listed in the obituaries. I’m blood thirsty and
dreadfully impatient so I advise you follow this rule, love. I’m forced to comment on
something completely unladylike for the sake of the roleplay.... Although it may seem
unlikely some characters may find love (such a putrid thing); I’ll ask you not to describe the
details of your intimacies. It’s improper and quite tacky. I suggest you time skip unless you
want to become a soiled little thing. Thank you much. Lastly when applying for a role I'd
enjoy photographs to be used, and please ensure your face claim fits your character.
I do not want to see characters that hold no value to the thread; put a little thought
into it or you will be happily declined. If I see someone applying with an emo/scene
photograph they had better be a fan-boi, and don't try to play them seriously-- they will be
the comic relief because they are so cliche and ridiculous. If you have any questions,
