I think the pleasure you get from it is extremely sadistic. And, if you're a sadistic person, you just enjoy watching other people feel bad.
I get that sadism is kind of hard to understand, but that's just the way some people think. And even though it can promote negativity, I don't think that liking negativity is necessarily a bad thing, especially for the sadists that can keep themselves in check. The issue comes with people who have no self control and take out their negative desires on whoever they please.
