of course it's not poisonous.
it's venomous.

My grandmother was stating how it was poisonous.
I freaked out and quickly did some research.
As stated, it does contain venom.
/crings

no
i mean... there's a difference between poisonous and venomous.
if it bites you and you die, it's venomous.
if you bite it and you die, it's poisonous.

Unfortunately Vietnamese isn't even my first language.
I only know of the word poisonous in Vietnamese, not of venomous.
I somehow got confused, I suppose.

Dangerous Duck

we don't get centipedes.

we get ROACHES.

this is a bit of an embarrassing story, but ******** it, i'm dumb enough to tell it anyway.

so one night i got up to grab a midnight snack; i flick on the dim kitchen lights and grab some leftovers, seat myself on a bar stool, and happily munch away. i feel a bit of food brush past my inner thigh and land on the floor with a soft "thud;" without looking down, i make to grab the scrap, when my hand makes contact with an object. a weird tickling sensation makes its way through my fingertips and i'm like: "huh, i'm not moving my fingers to gri-"

i went white, and i looked down, to see a medium brown roach scrambling it's ******** hairy legs to try and fix itself upright so it could beat a hasty retreat. i don't recall what came first: either dry heaving or pulling my hand away, but i jump from the bar stool, grab the nearest article of footwear, and have at spilling the juices of this little ********. one quick clean up later, i said "******** it," and went to bed.

tl;dr: ********. ROACHES. emotion_donotwant

I dont bother killing them when I see them cause the ants in my dorm are more of an issue
the centipedes are like "yo whats good" and im like "you best be on your way fam" and they're like "oh my b"
these ants are just like "kill me b***h my crew rollin up real quick"

LOL! That is pretty funny, the way you worded it.
I just cannot stand a sight of any bug, regardless if it is harmless or not.

Ye but most of the time the centipedes stick to the corners and mind their business so I don't care
these ants are so invasive, some of them sit there on my coffee maker like it's a ******** steam room so I have to smite these ********]
I don't know about you, but the house centipede I saw earlier wasn't just staying in the corner.

It roam about on my ceiling. That's a no-no.
You simply must stay the ******** out of my room if you're a bug.

most likely a house centipede, i have them too

and they are not poisonous... (it's not a bug though emotion_awesome )
the nice thing about house centipedes is that they tend to eat each other... so that...

if there was one that big you can probably count on there being others too (like hundreds), jsing

I'll be right back.
I'm just going to pack my s**t and never come back.
Actually, I might just kill myself.

dont kill yourself, just run away, for forever...

house centipedes are nocturnal so that's why most people dont notice them, for all you know your boyfriend's house may have them too

I'm nocturnal as well though.
I've never, once in my life, seen them before.
At all. My sleeping schedule is 8 AM - 6 PM.

My boyfriend has house spiders, of course.
There is a lot downstairs, not upstairs.
Thank bajeebus. But oh my god, widows...
/cries
No where is safe.

your boyfriend's house has black widows? the fuq? how is he not dead yet?

hmm weird, house centipedes also avoid places with high activity/light, so idk if you turn your light on at night or walk around a lot... they're pretty sensitive to that kind of stuff and freeze when a light suddenly comes on or when they feel/hear something

No, they're outside.
They hang about near the trailer of theirs.
He kills it, whenever I point it out.

Okay, so what if I am not dealing with a house centipede then?
THE ******** IS IT OMG.

[******** them too!
Roaches like to hide in one specific cabinet in our kitchen.
It is in the corner, where all the spices are at.
I always see one when I turn the lights on, and open the cabinet.
Because I get the munchies late at night.
LIKE WHY. I wish only bees existed in our world.
Because as far as I know, we need the bees.
What other insects do we really need?

I am fluent with English, not so with Vietnamese.
When two words are somewhat similar but hold a different definition.
I tend to get confused as well.

I rarely make mistakes, but when I do, I can be pretty upset with myself.
As I love English. When I am being praised by English instructors, I feel really confident about it.
But now, I think I am going to go and cry a little.

well they are carnivorous - they eat other bugs like spider and stuff...

both spiders and centipedes creep me out. but since i'm the oldest of three daughters - my two little sisters usually make me kill them ;0;

Yeah, I know that much about house centipedes already.
It isn't about if they can harm me, that I am scared about.
I am just scared of bugs in general.
Oh? A cute little lady bug?
Yeah, sure it is cute but don't let that ******** near me.

it's the millipedes that i got confused with. i just get scared of the really freaky looking bugs but I'm the sort that gets fascinated by the things that scare me lol so i occasionally read about them.

LOL!! even a lady bug?! I hope not butterflies tho emotion_kirakira those are gorgeous.

Trash Gekko

gonk They used to scare me too.

Though I noticed there were less ants when they started to appear so that made me even happier.
They tend to keep to the corners of rooms.

Doesn't mean I like them though..
There was one in the bathroom once and I just stared at it the entire time.
"Yo dude, you keep pulling your weight around here killing all the ants and you can be my centipede bro. No throwing parties."

and then there's spider bro who kills the flies.
He also likes the bathroom..

Living so close to the woods attracts too many bugs.

OMG THIS WAS ME FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS

My house is INFESTED with house centipedes
I've had a huge fear of bugs as long as i can remember and those ******** are my worst nightmare
My family's been killing them so there isn't as much anymore tho

I read about them too, and the only good thing is that they eat other pests
which explains why my ant infestation suddenly went away but the house centipede population rose

HOLY s**t HOLY s**t
