Amu The Idol アムの声: High voice

Alice felt a shiver up her spine when the new tenant called her by her stage name. She bit her lip and had scurried away to the kitchen to begin picking what to take for lunch, though the thought of this new tenant recognizing her couldn't leave her mind.
She was probably a fan, not that Alice could ever hate her fans, but to have a big fan living within the same household as her? She had tried so hard to avoid being found outside the celebrity world and to have it all come down like this? Alice could imagine the terror. This new tenant, telling all her friends of her location, bragging about her life living next to her, then the rumors would spread and the press would find her. Alice shook her head vigorously. It would certainly be a living hell. She then heard the chime of death by her.
"Oh, speak of the devil." She muttered when he accidentally called her by her stage name before fixing it to 'Alice.' She gave her famous smirk, a sign that it was great then proceeded to take her things and saying hello to anyone else she met in the kitchen. Proceeding towards the table, Alice's eyes turned towards the new tenant again. Kasial had just introduced himself followed by Aiden who, as usual, pulled on his flirtatious act on her. She approached them and pulled out the chair next to the new tenant as if to save her from taking him too seriously. "Don't be a creep and go off flirting with the poor girl, she might take you seriously." She said in a sympathetic tone and began to eat, shutting her eyes in thought. She opened them, turned to the tenant and pointed her spoon at Aiden. "He flirts with everybody so be careful." She told her casually with a charming laugh and a high voice that differed from how she sounded like when she was on stage, thinking that by using her higher pitched voice, she would avoid the idol topic with the new tenant. Once again turning to Aiden as she teasingly stuck her tongue out at him playing that she had won.

He was about to inquire on where they should go when the proverbial lunch bell was sounded. A small shrug was offered, and he looked to Inika with an apologetic look. "I’m sure once we’ve eaten you can take that tour if you want. I can’t say for sure who all will want to go, but I’m up to it." He offered Corinna and Koa a small bow of the head then wandered off towards the kitchen. Unlike the others, he passed by the food and instead filled a small glass kettle with some water. Shuffling around he found a perfectly sized cup and began to fidget through until he found his special blend. A beautiful green tea with strips of mint and shavings of cinnamon.

He lined the bottom of the cup with honey, the added the heated water before stirring. Then he added the tea, watching it steep as he wandered with tray in hand to a spot at the table. Once settled, he returned to the kitchen to fetch a plate. A few scoops of rice with the quesadilla shredded to bits on top, a small blob of sour cream and various shavings of cheese followed. He had no qualm being an eater, and he held nothing back when it came to food. Once settled, he looked around, before a deep sigh escaped as Adien, Alice, and Inika shared words. "Such a strange mixture..." his words were cut as he lifted the cup to his lips and sipped the sweetened brew. There was a bitterness, and a mild tartness with a sense of warmth and he cooed a little before grabbing a spoon and digging into his concoction of food.

It was obvious he was straining himself to retain his human facade as his face reddened a little. His tails longed to sway and curl freely, to show the pleasure he felt within himself. "This is delicious Eiji, you’ve outdone yourself again." he called to the pink haired male with starry eyes before again returning to his meal.

It didn’t take long for his plate to empty, likely a mix of his anxiety filled morning and his canine nature. Once through he sat there drinking his water and tea in a mild nature manner before pausing once his fist cup was empty. Washing it out with his cooled water he again started to brew another cup, this time without the honey. "How is everyone?" he asked to the general audience, uncaring whom answered or decided not to; merely trying to spark conversation.

Frosting, frosting~ Cupcakes, cupcakes~ Was there anything better? Surely not. Well... There were other sugary delights, but picking a true favorite was like asking a parent to choose a favorite child. But right now, with cupcakes on her mind, cupcakes were seemingly her favorite thing. And she was determined to whip up the best frosting to make the most delightful cupcakes ever! Tori's cheering certainly egged her on, her whisking becoming increasingly enthusiastic. She giggled along with the fae boy, nodding and smiling mischievously as she'd already planned on doing just that. Nothing was handier than a magic bracelet to hide all sorts of candies and sweets in.

Nonetheless, she pouted when eventually the food was done and then came the words she disliked. 'Dessert will be in a little while.' Like he was trying to break a poor little sugar-obsessed magical-girl's heart. She actually let out a whimper, lips remaining set in a pout even after Eiji had left to go fetch those who had not come down from their rooms. Such cruelty. Her little heart couldn't take being told she'd have to wait for dessert. She sulked, leaning on the counter as she watched others grab their plates of food. She was like a child really, behaving like she'd lost her entire appetite simply because her favorite part of the meal was to come last rather than being mixed in with the rest as she preferred.

It did not last for long as something sweet was brought in. Something sugary to sate her sweet-tooth until she could eat the cupcakes! She squealed, jumping a little excitedly, practically swooping in on the plate of mochi. But restraint! She would limit herself out of politeness, even if every fiber of her being demanded more than the single piece she took. It was enough to settle her mind and encourage her to assemble a plate and join the others in the dining room. She plopped down in the middle-most seat on one side of the table, humming a cheery-little tune. Her eyes glanced around, an absent-minded question leaving her lips as she did. "What happened to Marco?" She hadn't even noticed him leave. Had he gone to deal with the router? On his own!? He'd gotten lost last time! And it wasn't a very difficult trip from what little she knew. Heny was very accommodating and helpful! She looked visibly worried nonetheless, her little legs kicking back and forth under the table(albeit careful not to actually kick anyone across from her).

It was Kasial that pulled her out of her worrying, speaking an apology to which she blinked before her lips formed a little 'o'. "Don't worry, Kassie. There was no harm done and I should've been more careful anyway," she replied, smiling sweetly to the vampire. She turned her attention to her food then, eating her rice and again swinging her legs back and forth as she ate.

Food was a welcome thought, albeit Corinna was closer to peckish rather than hungry. With a light sigh, she opted to wait some time, give the others their chance to eat food while it was hot and fresh... And enjoy time in a room that wasn't a bit chilly. She sighed heavily, shifting on the couch to bring an arm up to rest along the back. Laying her head against it, she contemplated the benefits of a short midday nap after eating. It would be pleasant and calming, alleviating some of her nerves pertaining to this new tenant. How long would it take before either Inika figured them out or Eiji just flat-out told her? Certainly it would grow to be suspicious that the only place ever consistently 'drafty' happened to be wherever the pale-haired maiden was.

Another sigh, hearing a particular flatmate return from whatever nonsense he'd been up to. Some part of Corinna thanked the coincidence that was her not being in the dining room where Adien had made his way. After that terrible date earlier, the last thing she wanted was to deal with the excessively flirtatious mannerisms of the boy. Well 'boy' was a bit demeaning. There was the likelihood that he was older than even herself. His behavior on the other hand...

Her gaze shifted over to Koa. That was the sort of man they needed more of on land, honestly. A charmer, but respectful and considerate enough. "If only," she murmured softly, glancing away from the merman in a manner that could have very much been considered meek. A day of true colors it seemed to be for Corinna. Something she would have to try harder to remedy, lest she risk ruining relationships and the like. But what did today's Corinna feel like if not herself? Social. Today's Corinna had to be social, whether her staying away was out of politeness or not. Speaking of politeness...

She stood, brushing down her dress and fixing her scarf some before letting her gaze casually return to and rest on Koa. "Would you like me to bring you a plate of food?" she offered, offering a smile that she hoped would be perceived as warm. It only seemed fair to offer him some of the delicacies Eiji had prepared and it wasn't like he'd be able to get to them very easily. Not in his current form and not with Miss Inika about.

Eiji handed Sylvan a flyer to local businesses down the road. Their flyers were chosen carefully, other than the addressed personal letters or from the bank, Eiji was careful to not bring any unwanted attention to the home. He had been careful for thousands of years, and no mailman or Jehovah’s Witness coming to the door would expose them now as they ate lunch in peace.

Eiji’s back perked up as he felt the tiniest poke against it. He looked over his shoulder seeing Neferet staring at him sweetly. He smiled back at her out of just seeing it, but he got rather confused as she muttered into his ear as she rested her head on his shoulder. Trip? He promised such things? He thought for a moment, his eyes opened up slightly before closing again. “Oh darling, please. We can’t possibly go now. The food would get cold. Please sit down and enjoy it first.” He smiled wide as he softly touched her hand that wrapped around him.

The Kirin was so lively yet he was just threatened to be killed, albeit with his permission first; always was Neferet biding him into dying for her. He had promised so long ago that she’d have him when his time on the physical world was done. But every few years he had more to do, and delayed it further and further back. It wasn’t that Eiji lied, simply things got more complicated as time went on. And he felt sorry for having her wait, but in time he would adhere to what she said, and he’d go. But not today.

He scooted over but fully embraced her lean against him as he smiled and cuddled her in with an arm around her waist. As she asked Eiji pointed out to Gigi, Calera, Mitsuki, all the young ones whom had been eager to assist the old being. As Neferet suggested they go with them to the afterlife Eiji’s serene smile turned to a bit of a stern pout, less to be taken seriously but to just have Neferet calm herself from the topic. But almost instantly he gentle face came back and he accepted her feeding him as he gave her a soft hug around her waist.

He saw a figure lingering in the corner. Dear Charlie. He smiled happily seeing her. But she was in the corner. She needn’t feel like that. She motioned her to come sit, the dining table was long, chairs separating some. He only wished she’d shed the wall that seemed to keep her from speaking about herself. Soon enough he hoped.

As their conversations melded, Eiji noticed Adien had entered and began speaking to everyone. He nodded his had at the acknowledgement of his head and a smile as how Alice had played around with his rather friendly behavior. “Tired Adien, but ones work never ends. As for whom you speak to. Her name is Inika Bone. She’ll be attending the university downtown.” Eiji nodded to Inika. Meeting so many people could be a struggle. Especially for one who was so shy; their conversations at the coffee shop she worked at were sometimes rather one sided as the girl blushed in her seat as Eiji rambled on about different topics.

He bowed his head to Yume for the gratitude of the meal; he went on checking the mail, flipping through junk mail that he would toss out later. But as he heard a question about Marco Eiji noticed something addressed to him. He never go mail. Other than bills for the house and the bank. He softly rubbed Neferet’s waist before letting go, he opened up the envelope to reveal a letter, and a handful of tickets falling out of the envelope onto the table. Eiji touched them then began reading the letter out loud. “Hello and good day to you, residence of Fujibara Flats, we congratulate you on this surprise contest that your home was placed in! Enclosed in this envelope are a dozen tickets based upon the structure of your building to facilitate as many that would wish to attend the grand opening of Domino City’s Aquarium of the One! In two days the Aquarium opens, we hope to see you there!

He placed the note down and picked up the tickets. “An aquarium… interesting…how strange we are in a random contest however. I never heard of it until now.” He flitted the tickets around. “I suppose we found something we can all choose to do this coming weekend then. And look, the ticket indicates that their staring exhibit is of a…..Princess…an Ivory….Princess Baby Seal…what on earth is an Ivory Princess Baby Seal? Oh we must go now!

She was hardly interested in school junk mail. Well, there was the chance that it was something important, albeit incredibly slim. Most important notices just went to her email which she checked several times a day. Grumbling something indecipherable, she left the letter on the table be and by some miracle resisted the urge to toss it somewhere behind her for someone else to pick up and toss later. It was too damn early to expend energy on something so stupid as that. Instead, she focused on shoveling rice into her mouth because rice was energy and she sure as hell needed that. Even if it was early, today would be the day that she got back to work... Albeit, hopefully not at the same intensity and pace though with Charlie it was hard to make that promise. She had projects and homework due after all and work to do. Paid work. The best kind.

It was the same growl more canine than human that rumbled in her throat as the one who smelled of death entered and spoke to her. Of course it was damn early for her to be awake. Her half-lidded eyes looked up, particularly at the question of who had been the one to wake her up. One of few people in the damn house who would be able to do that and come out unscathed. Golden eyes rested on Eiji, motioning to him with her fork and carelessly flinging a couple grains of rice in the process. "That one. Still got that pink head of his," she grumbled, plopping down the fork and biting into one of the quesadillas. But despite her annoyance and the act of eating, she slowed and hung her head, seeming to be fighting dreams again. It was so hard after so much sleeping to return to the land of the awake entirely.

She grumbled, shifting upon hearing her name and looking to the perpetrator. The vampire. Of course. Golden eyes met goldenrod, that growl threatening to rise up in her throat again. Honestly, was the full moon coming? One would think she'd be on top of that, but she couldn't think for the life of her right now. Maybe it was just the 'morning' making her irritable. "I wish I was sleeping. Better than being awake this goddamn early," she responded ever-so-eloquently to Kas. Not like her word choice would be any surprise to anyone. Except...

She sniffed the air, probably a tad too noticeably, her eyes suddenly blinking and opening further, pupils adjusting and focusing and fixing on the thing she'd missed before. Not thing. Person. A new smell, a new person. How long had she been there? When had this person entered the house!? Her attention shifting almost violently to Eiji, her expression something between panicked and homicidal. Why hadn't he thought to warn her of this? Considering that may have very well been the thing to snap her fully into reality as it just had. Or at the very least, it would have encouraged her to do the smart thing and stay in her room where she wouldn't be displaying a thousand oddities than would put her under suspicion. It was like asking Henrik to come up and have lunch with guests!

"Feeling like absolute s**t," she responded to Yume, barely giving fox-boy a glance before fixing her stare on Eiji once more. It was almost like tunnel-vision, her was the only thing that really was clear, everything else blurring. Sights and sounds tuned out, except him and his voice. She didn't care about some aquarium trip, she cared to know why he hadn't warned her or let her stay in her room. Anger bubbled, threatening the worst possible outcome right now. Her nails caught on the table as her hand began to clench. It was enough to root her, to focus her and force down the anger or at the least rationalize it down to annoyance. Enough to stabilize her.

x The dark skinned demigod's eyes flitted open with the arrival of consciousness. He lay in his bed under the covers, still except for the rise and fall of his chest that signaled breathing. He really didn't want to be up today. Often, the underground fighting champion stayed out at night and up late to win as many fights as possible, thereby getting as much money as possible. In addition to that, Virgil was definitely not a morning person; As such, for him to get up before eleven o' clock was a special occasion for special days. Today was not a special day. There was something going on downstairs that he could hear, from the sounds of it it was lunch. A tension in the air... Something was off, today, but Virgil couldn't tell what.

x With a groan, the son of Nike heaved himself up out of bed to face the day. He had showered last night, so that was out of the way for most of today at least. It was difficult to do, but Virgil would persevere. He wanted to be prepared for whatever the day had to offer, so he dressed in his usual clothing rather than the more comfortable type of attire he kept on hand for easy relaxed days spent around the flats. This meant donning the black leather ensemble that he wore when fighting. The tight leather chaps, coupled with the custom jacket and glove were of his own design. If he didn't hamper his movement with the restrictive clothing, it just wasn't very fun. After he dressed, he ran a hand through his short white hair and placed his sunglasses in the pocket of his jacket. Ready to face the day, or at least as ready as he could be at this ungodly hour.

x Virgil opened the door of his room and closed it behind him, proceeding down the stairs. It smelled of lunchtime in the building and Virgil's stomach rumbled in accordance. "Hell yeah, time to get my food on." He said to himself, losing the sour mood of the morning. At least, for a while, until he saw resident alpha b***h Seung Hee. Well, it was complicated. Things weren't necessarily that bad between them, but they clashed on the simplest things due to their natures and how incompatible they were. Virgil let out an audible groan at the sight of Seung. It had almost become a game between the two to see who was more irksome to the other. And it looked like Seung was in quite a predicament... His mood lifted once more.

x "Well, well, well. 'Sup Seung Ho. Looks like you're havin' a b***h of a time right there. Don't mind if I squeeze on past ya." Virgil said in a mocking tone, intentionally mispronouncing her name with a smug smirk on his face. It was like a wolf setting eyes on a hapless cow as it grazed in a field. The demigod could easily go around the siren as she stood helplessly in front of her door with no assistance in sight. However, he wished to savor the moment and observed her plight for a moment.

"Well, well, well. 'Sup Seung Ho. Looks like you're havin' a b***h of a time right there. Don't mind if I squeeze on past ya."

There was no other reaction from her besides a blank stare at his direction, unamused by her 'nickname'. There he was in all of his jackass glory. She groaned audibly at the new annoyance that had to appear when she was running on an empty stomach. The man that always outdid himself as the bane of her existence, Virgil. Or should I say, Virgin? Seung Hee mocked back. He was doing what he did best, grating her nerves and today, today she was not in the mood to entertain him. Her temperament was slowly reaching it's detonation point and he was soon going to be the first casualty. Sure, it would've been easy to ignore his greeting and deny him any acknowledgement but, he was hanging around her much longer than he should.

                                [******** it.

Seung Hee confronted him with a scowl and spat out the silver whistle at him, bouncing off his chest effortlessly and to the floor. There was no way that she was going to stay quiet while Virgil had the liberty to bark at her all he pleased. Two can play at that game and it was one that she was well versed at. She confronted him without a shred of fear despite the fact that he was a sculpted demigod that towered over her. The siren looked up at him with a menacing expression on her face speaking in a calm tone just holding back the anger in her voice by a hair.

"Alright, a*****e. You've got two ******** options. You either open this door for me or I'm going to skip my petite a** all the way to your room and kick open your door. I'm going to eat this entire plate of food in your room and I'm not going to give a single ******** if I make a mess in there," hissing at the last bit feeling herself reach the boiling point.

She wasn't kidding. If she wasn't going to get into her own room, she was going to get into his and eat there if she had to. She justified her intentions assuming that Virgil's room was already a pigsty and what's another mess to the pile? Seung Hee walked around him, cluing him on the fact that she was going to go now if he wasn't going to open her door this second.

"Also, I don't give a single shitty ******** about what's Eiji's going to do about it. If he wants to do anything about it, he can fight me. Now are you going to open this forsaken door for me or what? I swear on your father that I'm going to bust your door's nuts if you don't."

x Virgil loved these confrontations more than he wanted to admit. Seung was queen b***h and he was king of the assholes. A match made in the deepest fiery pit of hell. The two of them had gotten along like a house on fire from the first day he'd moved in. He couldn't stand her and she hated his guts, the mere sight of the other was enough to incite a full-on war. The only circumstance under which it didn't happen was in the presence of Eiji, the landlord of sorts.

x "b***h if ya wanted in my bedroom that bad all ya had to do was ********' ask." Virgil shot back, leaning over slightly as if he were inspecting Seung's a**.

x Virgil knew she wasn't kidding around either. She'd do it regardless of what Eiji did or said, and the same went in reverse. If she wanted to start a war, she'd get one. However, Virgil was hungry. And had something in his room right now that he didn't want her to see. Anyone but her to see.

x "Eh, ******** it. Petite is right. Nothin' for anybody back there. Never ********' mind." Virgil said, his voice patronizing and his smile sharp.

x Virgil picked the whistle she had spat at him off the ground and set it on the top of her head before he opened the door to her room for her. As much as it hurt his pride to let her think she won, he knew that he'd actually won if this kept her out of his room.

x "Bienvenue and bon appétit." Virgil said caustically, half-assedly waving Seung into her own room. He took the whistle off her head and held it for her to take back into her mouth obligingly, giving her the same condescending smirk he'd been wearing this entire time. The comment about his father hadn't rankled him as much as she'd hoped, he figured. Virgil had never met the guy and didn't want to.

Over my dead body, I wouldn't wish that on the last woman on Earth! Seung Hee scoffed at his response turning towards her door. She could tell that his eyes were traveling down her body inciting a hiss from her. His dirty look was short lived as he bent over to pick up the whistle that she had spat at him moments ago. Temporarily placing on top of her head before popping open the door to her room with ease.

The whistle was then once again in his possession and held out in front of her in his hand, almost like it offered to her on a silver platter. That was far from the truth. His shitty smile was proof of that and his eyes this time, looked down on her. There was nothing she hated more than his smug attitude.

He just had to get even with her.

He yielded to her demands and now she had to swallow her pride and retrieve the small object with her mouth again. It felt like she was bowing in front of him and god, she was going to kill Eiji the next chance she had. She did as she was expected to and leaned forward, snatching up the whistle only to spit it back out inside her room. That was as far as she was going to go acknowledging the importance of Eiji's gift. She took it back compromising her own pride and that was all he was getting from her.

                                "Bienvenue and bon appétit."

His little wave was answered with her own body language, a sassy sashay into her door way, popping her rear at him. "If you like what you see then you better pay up. I'm not cheap," she gave him a smirk back. "Thanks for the favor, darling. You may leave now," she dismissed him with a fake smile, one that she often used as a passive-aggressive weapon. If there was one thing she enjoyed, it was getting under someone's skin and admittedly, Virgil was by the far the most difficult to do so. Egotistical b*****d.

Before he could give her another rebuttal, she had kicked her door closed on him with her heel, slamming the door closed behind her. She wouldn't put it past him to holler at her from the other side of the door. She sighed, feeling more drained than usual with her day which just started. Most residents were tolerable however, without fail, Virgil was always the one who gave her high blood pressure. She couldn't remember if it was the way he looked, the way he carried himself, or the way he spoke that caused her to hate him with such a passion.

Right, I just hate everything about him.

Without wasting another second, Seung Hee happily plopped herself down, sitting down on her legs. The plate was carefully set on the floor still practically in one piece. Clapping her hands together, eyes closed, Seung Hee praised the gods that made her beautiful lunch possible. With a sandwich in one hand and a second in the other, Seung Hee took deep bites from both, indulging in the freshness. It only took her a few more bites to lighten her mood quickly making a dent in her tower of food.

"Did you take my cookie?! I shall have you pay for that."

Calera would smile as she hears Eiji say that they were done and the mission was a success. She would return his salute with her own. She was happy to be of some help. Slowly her knife playing would come to a hault as she would put the blade away. she knew she shouldn't play around with knives but they are so cool so fun and so... dangers. she smile as she lists to Inkia say she was from Cal and was here for school and adventure. Well she would have some adventure if she stayed here for sure. She slightly giggles a bit. "Ah dont worry about it Inkia you'll have lots of fun and if things get hard we be here to help you." The kind of help she was talking about may not be what Inkia would think right off the bat. However she come to learn the truth sooner or later. She wonder when but wouldn't say anything about it. She would rush out when everyone was out and grab herself a plate she get mostly everything but health green stuff. She never liked salads in her life and she vow to never like them ever.

She would follow suit and sit close to Gigi. As she eats she see's the vampire coming around and say sorry towards Gigi for his actions. The blade under her skirt was itching to be pulled and to make a couple incision. However she give him a soft smile as she would keep herself in check if Gigi said it was fine it was fine. She would eat a bit as she had yet to get herself any of mochi for now she wouldn't she was okay waiting for the cupcakes. She would smile a bit as she slowly eat her food. Enjoying the flavors of the food that had been made. As Eiji went through the mail she slightly looks over at him and see's Neferet next to him. She just nods her head as she wonder what she was up to. Did anything come for me i been waiting for package and a magazine ." The package was something she needs for her next operation and well the magazine was on guns and such. Stuff that she would be looking into buying and such. she would go back to eating as she thought about the idea of going out with everyone. She knew many people here seem to get along very well but there were clashes here and there after all so many people getting along so well is unheard of. "I might not be here to go on that trip... i have to check to see if i have to go to.... work that day." she almost said operation but stopped herself in time. Last thing she wish for Inkia to know was what she did.

Marco Albani
The Otaku

The voice seemed unperturbed by Marco’s declaration, a trio of glowing circles breaking through the darkness below and meeting the boy’s gaze head-on. He’d heard this voice, had seen that face. The last time he’d barely escaped with his life via a liberal use of whatever he could get his hands upon. From the corner of his eye he could see the door he’d come through, glasses lingering upon the thin line of light that showed through the crack. He could make it, he could definitely make it. He wasn’t the physical sort, he hated exercise actually, but even so it wasn’t too far. Yet, before he could begin his mad dash, he’d find his attention shifting back to the green-eyed man. A frown painted his lips as he heard the man’s words, the grip on his flashlight loosening ever so slightly.

“Eh?” From the way he talked it almost sounded like the man didn’t want to tear him to shreds and devour his pure soul. Disbelief mixed with sheer confusion, that frown of his only growing. “Wait, so…you’ll help me?” He didn’t trust him of course. Only a fool would trust a flea-bitten, three-eyed man who made his home in a basement-slash-swamp. None the less, for the sake of his precious internet, Marco was willing to play along. As long as he took the lead Marco still had a chance of escaping if things took a turn for the worse. With careful steps he’d make his way down the remaining steps, mindful of the tar-like substance that seemed to cover most of the floor. The smell was putrid as well, akin to rotten eggs mixed with mold. This wasn’t his first time smelling it, but Marco had a feeling that even if he’d spent a century in the basement he’d never get used to it. Snatching his wrench off the bottom-most step he’d quickly move to follow the man, flashlight dancing about as he made he sure not to step into anything too icky. The air was cloying, the shadows seemingly holding a life of their own. During several moments Marco swore that he saw something slithering about in the distance, though when he tried to spot it with his light it was gone. Remembering how the man had made mention of alligators Marco made sure to keep close. Now that he had a chance to, erm, admire the scenery he had to admit the place felt like a dungeons from the Closing Reverie series.

And, like all good dungeons…

This one has treasure. Oh, did it have treasure. The pile of modems shown before Marco like a heap of gold, the man’s eyes sparkling as he took a few steps forward.

“Beautiful. Let me sort this stuff out.” W did they have so many? Moving forward he’d begin to work his way through the old parts, trying to find the active one. As he did so Marco couldn’t help but to give a glance back towards his guide. There was no doubt that the man was Grade-A nightmare fuel, but none the less he had helped Marco. He hadn’t even tried to feast upon his heart or anything.

“So, uh,” He pushed aside an empty box, “You mentioned you don’t have a computer?” Living in a forlorn hellscape like this was already pretty bad, but having no way to browse online or watch shows was utterly terrifying. “What do you do all day?”

If you save yourself for marriage, You're a bore.
If you don't save yourself for marriage
        You're a whore-able person.
If you won't have a drink, Then you're a prude.
But they'll call you a drunk
As soon as you down the first one.

What time was it? Early? Late? Really late? Hopefully not the last one, god that'd be such a joykill. So many fun things happened in the middle of the day, it'd be a shame to miss out on them. It was in a cat-like manner that the woman sprawled out and stretched, rolling and turning in the bed as she did such. A rather satisfied noise escaped her before she finally raised herself up into a sitting position, running a hand through a tangled mess of hair. What had she even been up to last night? Had it been a party or her usual antics with a particular partner in crime? Or had she... Oh god, she'd stayed in! That was why her hair was such a mess! It'd never been styled in any way for a night out on the town(so to speak)! Well, that'd be remedied! Adventures would be had today!

She practically threw herself out of bed, on her feet and dealing with combing her hair into something presentable, dressing, and applying at least some makeup. Eye makeup was really all she bothered with unless she was going out right away... Or had a party to prep for. But digressing...

There was such a fuss in the hallway. Well, not really a true fuss or fight. If Zara weren't feeling out of the mood for poking two bears at once, she would have readily intruded on that little spat and shoved someone into someone accompanied by the words 'now kiss!'. But she wasn't in that mood just yet. Probably later, after she'd had something to eat and synced up with someone else's mischievous attitude. For now though, that first part was important. Food sounded delightful!

With a theatrical clap of her hands that was ultimately unneeded but oh so satisfying, she disappeared from her lavishly decorated room and into the dining room... In someone's lap. Not that it seemed to faze the genie who had so suddenly joined everyone at the table. In fact, she seemed exceedingly comfortable in the kirin's lap.

"Ooo, california rolls and quesadillas, oh my~" she chimed as she plucked a california roll off the plate before her. Not seemingly to bother with the fact that it was not her plate she was picking off of. Chewing, she shifted some in her 'seat', making herself quite comfortable in Eiji's lap as she was known to do to the more even-tempered members of the household. Turning, she draped an arm across poor Eiji's shoulders, smiling. "Hello~ Your cooking is delightful as ever," she practically purred before her attention slid on over to Neferet. Eyelashes batting, she smiled at the valkyrie as well. "And hello to you, dear. Is this adorable man still refusing to make that trip with you?" she asked, her tone a mix of playful and sincerity. Not that she waited for an answer very long before her attention caught on the thing Eiji had been reading along with the tickets scattered on the table before them.

                "Oh~? What's this?"
she inquired, plucking up a ticket and studying it before looking at and reading the letter on the table. Moments later, she clapped. "An aquarium trip sounds fabulous! Though I really just want to see that seal! Baby seals are the cutest things really. Though I suppose someone could just take pictures for me. Decisions, decisions..." she commented, heading tilting this way and that as she pondered. Never once making any move to leave her current seat. And never once noticing the new face among the tenants.

                                                                                                                                      Make lots of noise,
Kiss lots of boys, Or kiss lots of girls,
                                                                                                                                          If that's something you're into.

                                                                                                                                      When the straight and narrow,
                                                                                                                                        Gets a little too straight,
Just follow your arrow wherever it points.

The Matchmaker (in training)

恋が満ちたのは まばたきくらい一瞬の事で

User Image
Sitting on his window sill, with his legs dangling outside the opened window, A slim male with butterscotch blonde hair and deep ocean blue eyes readied his arrow at a target sitting on the fence within the property: A pair of pigeons that had seemed to be avoiding each other. As one scooted closer to the next, the other would move away. Christopher didn't like that. Pulling back on the arrow, he carefully aimed, it at the two birds. A drop of sweat trickled down from his forehead from the nervousness and his fingers began shaking. Then finally.... It hit! Christopher heard the arrow hit someone but when he took a closer look.....

The birds flew away as the arrow hit the fence bellow them. He missed. Again. For the 78th time that day already. Christopher let out a frustrated sigh and tried to fall back against his window though forgot that there was nothing there and fell on his back against the carpeted floor. He had wasted so many arrows on trying to make just TWO BIRDS fall in love. Getting back on his feet, The matchmaker placed his golden bow against his bed and threw the remaining arrows in a small bin labeled: "Friendship". He had many different kinds of love up his sleeve, ranging from puppy love, Infatuation, family and friends, lust, obsessions, and so forth.

"I should be practicing with regular arrows." He told himself as he pulled open a drawer next to his bed and picked up a small golden gun. To the normal eye, it looks like a regular gun that fired bullets but this special gun crafted by Eros himself was a gift for the training matchmaker. He opened another drawer, filled with normal looking needles though acted just the same as his arrows. Each set a different type of love. The match maker picked them out carefully. "Let's see....Flirtatious, Mutual, Empty, Infatuation,....Oh~ And Of course there should be some Jealousy~" He grinned as he filled his guns with the right needles. He doubt that he would use it today, but just to poke some fun at a few tenants, and HOPE that he gets at least one of them.

Now walking into the kitchen, the match maker spotted several of his tenants, many familiar faces, they were having lunch already. My had the time flown by quickly. He then eyed the Kirin, and the lovely genie he had on his lap. How cute, let's try to take it a little further. He pulled out the gun from his back pocket and shot it across the room in hopes that it would hit the genie or the Kirin, Then fired a second time to hit Neferet. Both needles barely nipped Eiji's Pink hair.

Dang it. Missed again.

"You're the reason I fell in love..."
With my gaze stuck on you like that...
Diving in without a clue, making my declaration of war

This whole love-struck thing happened in the blink of an eye

Eiji had placed the tickets down and thought to himself how a trip out of the house would do a lot of good, at least for some. Others, were not so tempted to ever leave the domain of the Flats, the human world just had nothing to offer them sometimes. “ We can make a list of those interested. We mustn’t miss out when the offer is so generous and timely.

He smiled as he brushed Neferet’s hand as he listened to Calera asking if she herself had mail. “Well then let’s see here…Calera…one package…a…Vector Optics Sphinx 1x22 Red Dot scope…hmm, and one magazine subscription to…Stuffed Animals Monthly; The Fluffy Bunny catalogue.” He was about hand over her things when a puff of smoke in front of him made him kick back a bit. His gentle closed eyes opened wide in fright, revealing a pair of goldenrod pupils. He very rarely opened his eyes as wide as he did when he was surprised, but it was still a sight to behold. After the smoke had dissipated, Eiji could feel a soft weight on his lap, it was warm and he reached in front of him to give a soft squeeze, feeling warm skin where there use to be nothing. He looked up to notice Zara happily partaking at his partially finished plate. His arms wrapped around her mocha colored skin, however, he still had a confused look on his face.

As Zara finished the last bit of food in her mouth he smiled as she greeted him and complimented lunch. “You’re very welcome Zara, Im sorry we didn’t call you beforehand.” He hugged her instinctively as he gave an innocent smile.

As she spoke with Nefert, Eiji checked the time and everyone’s plates, they were all just about completing their meals; He had to do all their dishes before going on to his other things. As his attention turned back to Zara on her excitement and wonder if she’d go to the Aquarium, Eiji gave her waist a squeeze“ If you’d like to come you can Zara, otherwise we’ll take all the photos we can take! We’ll have to wait for the weekend however.

He looked out from the living room into the living room seeing the wisteria trees in the far bay windows. “With it getting colder we must prepare the house for the coming winter…both normally and…specially.” He smiled and nodded. The house required a lot of maintenance, not just cleaning it but to keep up all its magical properties as well. Hopefully it could all be done in a few days. As he was just about to announce that everyone could leave their plates he felt something whiz by his head. His eyes popped open again as he looked where he heard the sound. “Was that a bird? Huh…anyway, If anyone wants left overs, they’ll be warmed on the counter for now, and the rest will be portioned for later in the refrigerator. Time to clean all these dishes.” He gave a bit of a tired sigh as he slumped rather tired in his chair, but still held onto the smile.
