I did hear something about dinosaurs being called dragons or something, so maybe it wasn't Billions of years ago when they walked this beautiful planet.

When was the last time you saw a dragon which wasn't on the other side of a screen? Since your answer is "never", why would you conflate them with dinosaurs?

Furthermore, why would you think that dinosaurs "being called dragons or something" is some sort of proof that they lived more recently than the Mesozoic? There's literally no connection between those clauses.

I'm open minded, just not so open my brain falls out. I'd rather not just believe what everyone tells me like a child does. I would prefer to THINK rather then just accept everything that comes my way.

Yes; and they also believed in dragons, cyclopes, gods that threw lightning bolts at us from the clouds, and that the planet was under a giant terrarium dome, all because of the same reason: lack of scientific understanding.

Also, the world isn't round; it's an oblate spheroid.

Even as far back as ancient Greece, people have known that the Earth is not flat. This isn't a brand new concept introduced in only the 15th century. Anyone who's ever been a sailor, a merchant, or somewhat educated, knew the Earth was not flat.
