I didn't know how annoying I was in Middle School until well into High School.

it's all of this "don't tell your kids no, be positive" "no don't hit them" "don't punish them" bullshit.

Don't hit em..we saw how that worked for the older generation. wink made them forget how to raise children properly.

It is mostly the parent's fault, also a bit of environment.
And no, it isn't because we "don't hit our kids anymore."
Not everyone received that type of punishment in their childhood before us, and not everyone is like that.
Also why the ******** would you ever want to hit a god damned child.
Chances are, they didn't know what they did was wrong.
It is the parent's responsibility to teach the child, not beat them.

Agreed 100%. Make them respect you and be consistent with your parenting but don't make them fear you by losing your cool and attacking them.

I hate it when I hear parents say "be good" to their child.
Like what is "good"?
Don't give them vague instructions, tell them exactly what you expect.
And then the parents get pissed when their child does something that isn't under their definition of "good".
Oh man, I could rant about this all day.

yeah but i'm sorry in some cases they need it. I mean don't hit them every time they annoy you, kids will be kids, but sometimes it's all that will get them to listen.
