                                          Welcome to Battle Cry, a Naruto Warring States roleplay.

                                          Unfortunately, creation of this roleplay is still in progress. In the meantime, this thread is being used gather interest and for recruitment. Ideas for the plot are more than welcome. Characters can also be reserved at this time.

                                          RULES


                                          Obey Gaia TOS.

                                          This is a literate roleplay. Posts should be in third person and in past tense with no use of asterisks for actions. There is no word count that is required to be observed other than no one liners.

                                          Please be creative with character creation. Keep in mind the mindset of the clan your character belongs to but also be sure to make them unique. I would also like for characters to be older than 18 years old, though some exceptions will be allowed.

                                          Anime pictures are to be used for character appearances. It is not always possible, but please try to find an image that matches the time period. For example, it is preferable that the character you're using to be dressed in a kimono or battle armor over a high school uniform or a suit.

                                          This not your average Naruto roleplay. It is much grittier and darker than the current timeline of the series because of the time period. Violence is expected and encouraged. If this is not your cup of tea please don't join.

                                          Activity is needed to keep the roleplay alive. For this reason, it would be ideal if everyone could post every day -- this is not realistic of course, as most people have a life. To make things simple, if you don't post within two weeks in either the ic or ooc your character will be removed and the spot reopened.

                                          The world is a cruel place, but especially for those who call themselves shinobi.

                                          Ceaseless wars between ninja clans have raged since the time of Indra and Asura Ootsutsuki. Indra’s Curse of Hatred fueled the fires as family members and comrades were felled and revenge quickly became paramount creating ever-changing alliances and enemies. It was a vicious cycle that has only been perpetuated by power hungry warlords fighting for land and political power. As Daimyo hired various ninja clans in an effort gain more power, Shinobi began to skirmish amongst themselves for survival.

                                          Eventually, the Land of Fire became a concern for the clans that were established the area as the former Daimyo had passed away, leaving his land to not only the eldest, but to both of his sons Nobuyuki and Yukimura. The land was divided in half with Nobuyuki governing the north half and Yukimura in the south.

                                          Other powerful countries, like the Lands of Stone and Lightning, viewed this division as a weakness waiting to be exploited and began gathering forces. As influential as it was, with the Land of Fire incapacitated, it would allow other countries to increase their lands and replenish their armies by buying out ninja clans. In order to keep their lands united against any invading armies, the Daimyo brothers issued decrees that required the members of warring shinobi clans to unite under one banner.

                                          To this end, the _________ was formed.

                                          To this end, marriages between some of the most influential clans were arranged in order to precipitate peace.

                                          This clan is very patriarchal.
                                          Women of this clan are not trained to be kunoichi and are subservient to the men.

                                          HYUUGA CLAN

                                          All members are born with the Byakugan.
                                          Twins are prevalent in this clan.
                                          Most often, one twin is the clan head while the other leads the Branch clan.

                                          KAGUYA CLAN

                                          All members are born with the bloodline limit shikotsumyaku.

                                          SENJU CLAN

                                          Not all members can use mokuton.

                                          UCHIHA CLAN

                                          Not all members can awaken the Shringan.
                                          Women of this clan are trained to be kunoichi as well as housewives to protect the clan while the men are away in battle.

                                          A purely matriarchal clan, it is ruled by the women.

There are some notable exceptions, like the Hyuuga, who are all born with their Byakugan. This should not automatically mean that everyone in the Hyuuga clan can utilize certain Juuken techniques.

                                          The Hogoromo clan does not have a specified kekkei genkai in the series. This does not mean that they didn't' have one of course, so like the rest, one can be created based on the powers of Princess Kaguya.


                                          SUMMONINGS

                                          Summonings will be designated by clans. For example, in the Senju clan, frogs and monkeys are common summonings. In the Uchiha clan, they tend to go for animals like cats, snakes and crows. Feel free to suggest your own summoning ideas based on clan traits as well.

                                          I am uncertain if I will be allowing them in this roleplay or not.

but none ever interest me and most were......cliche
next gen. and all that crap. meh.
