My dad use to think that it was weird, but I would get him to watch it with me biggrin He never really forced me not to watch anything, expect for Degrassi a long time ago, but mostly it was okay for me to watch it while he was not around.

My grandpa when my twin and I was in middle school use to watch Sailor Moon with us everyday biggrin

Fluffy Shapeshifter

My mom doesn't mind but when it come my dad, he always mention the first anime I watch which is Inuyasha =w=
My parents have always just regarded all anime as cartoons, so whether I was watching Teen Titans or SlayerS, it was all the same to them. Maybe it's because they're Asian? They're pretty indifferent towards it, but sometimes my dad will sit down and watch with me if he's bored.

Space Genius

Mine never paid much attention about that. They never forbade me watching anime, although a few times they caught me on watching some bloody Kenshin fighting scenes.
I started watching anime kind of late into my youth, but I usually watched any DVDs/Crunchyroll/Hulu videos on my computer, so my parents really didn't have any say in what I was allowed to watch in anime.

However, they do tune me out whenever I talk about it. It's like I'm speaking a completely different language or something.

Demonic Shounen

No, I don't think they really mind much. I watch a lot of anime with my dad actually.
My folks never really cared about it as long as I was happy. When I made a cosplay for the first time, my mom didn't mind me using the sewing machine and even taught me how to use it. When they draw the line is when the blood shows up on the tv screen. They don't think I should be watching that kind of shows even though I'm already a legal adult. That's why I watch anime in my room.

Versatile Lunatic

Im 21 my parents stop caring years ago.

They do tease me from time to time about watching "little kids cartoons" just to get a rise out of me, It doesn't really work though. :T

Alien Star

Since I'm 21 now my parent's really don't have a say of what I can and can not read or watch.

When I was little I would watch Pokemon with my brother and I would try to catch Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors when it was on. It wasn't until I was 13 when I really started getting into animes and mangas. (Mostly mangas) My dad didn't really care, but mangas sort of confused my mom. She would ask how it was read and I would explain it to her. I think a part of her was worried about what kinds of mangas I was reading. I know she wouldn't let me buy Absolute Boyfriend because she saw a naked guy on the cover. I would be lying if I said that I didn't read some mangas for the hot guys, (Especially yaoi) but I just wanted to read Absolute Boyfriend because it was funny. One time I even asked my grandma if this one library had mangas and she replied, "Oh, no, this library has books for adults." She doesn't know that most mangas can be pretty, "adult."
My parents don't really seem to react when I watch anime.

But sometimes they think I'm obsessed with it because I watch it like 24/7. Sometimes they even give me a funny look if the anime is in Japanese but I say "There's captions!!!" And especially my brother. He just thinks I'm weird. rofl

My mom accidentally got me into Sailor Moon and other ones on Toonami because she was flipping through channels one day, saw a Sailor Moon marathon and mistook it for Pokemon due to the similar (for her) art style. My family just called it "cartoons" and I never really bothered to correct them. I just referred to it as "Japanese cartoons" to help them differentiate between that and something like Looney Tunes. They never really gave a damn about it, so I was able to watch it in peace.

I still can't believe my Nana actually sat through .hack//SIGN with me when it'd come on at 1am without a peep and yet complain about an episode of The Simpsons when they had an end segment where they showed off asses! rofl

My mom refers to Anime as Cartoons. I hate it so much when she does that.
