I hate to have to be the contrarian in the room, but I wasn't the least bit sad when Drogo, or as I like to call him, Attila the Rapist, died. I also suspected the local witch poisoned his wound to begin with rather than treating it.

Ned Stark definitely frustrated me when he died. That said, I do think it was a great plot point. Ned Stark didn't deserve to die, but he had to for the sake of the plot.

You know who I wish didn't get killed off? Ros, Petyr's prized prostitute.

I understand where you're coming from. I wasn't very fond of him in the beginning as well when he first raped Dany. But you have to keep in mind, in the books he really wasn't a rapist and only consummated with her once she gave her consent. In the series however, for the sake of making him look like the ruthless dominant barbarian he was, they made him so. Yes, there is stockholm syndrome in this, but nonetheless, their love for one another was wholesome . . .at least in the books. Which is good enough for me to keep adoring him.

Agreed. With Eddard's Stark death, there would be no plot, still sad to see him die though.

Not going to lie, I skipped the books, and don't plan on reading them until the series is over, and maybe not even then. That said, rape was kind of par for the course for the entire culture they had. I'm almost impossible to offend, so none of it bothers me, I just find the fact that all the female users I find are going gaga over Attila the Rapist.

I've been very tempted to make a "Daenerys Targaryen is a Mary Sue" thread because that's how I actually perceive her, but I think that might be a bit trollish since she's so popular.
Jory's death hit me harder than it should, also I think I'm alone in feeling that the most satisfying death in the series was
Janos Slynt.

Trust me, in the book he isn't as primitive when it came down to Daenerys. Perhaps the reason why many girls like Drogo is for the fact that he is played by a pretty face; Jason Momoa ( a.k.a conan the barbarian ).

Your thoughts are your own and no one can change that for you.

Oh my goodness. There are so many.

"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die."

Eddard Stark
Lady
Drogo
Mycah the butchers boy
Syrio Forel
Septa Mordane
Jory
Yoren
Maester Luwin
Robb
Grey Wind
Catelyn, well, kind of. I only partially like her.
And she got reanimated anyway. Martin should have reanimated someone else.

Brienne, and Jon. Providing they're both actually dead.

The wolves deaths took me the hardest of all.
xD

All of those in your list made mine as well.
But I'm also adding:
Oberyn Martell (The Red Viper)
Beric Dondarrion
(The Old Bear) Commander Mormont
Sandor Clegane
Quentyn Martell
Dacey Mormont
Ygritte
The wolves hit me pretty hard as well.

Brianne is not dead. She is with Jaime, having told him that she needs help as the hound has Sansa.

I hope Jon is not dead ;;.

Oh that's definitely why they like him. As long as the face on it is "smexy" or whatever term they use these days, it's cool. wink Men are the same way, actually. The difference between a total b***h and a femme fatale is a pretty face and a nice set of tits.

The Hound, mostly. I was extremely upset over him.
Also Tywin and Balon Greyjoy.

To be honest, Joffrey's a bit of a sore spot for me too. It was just so sudden, and the kid was like, 13-15 (not sure how much he aged) when he was poisoned. He was a shithead, sure, but most kids that age are. He was just trying to be like his father. He was also a very enjoyable antagonist and that he was killed so quickly seems weird for me.

I'm also very upset over Ned's death, but it feels like it happened so long ago- in fact, I knew it happened before I even started the series, so I never had the hope that he would survive. It wasn't a twist for me.

One death I'm not too upset about is Robb. He had gotten very boring, and the Red Wedding was such a great plot point.
