Aren't furries just like cosplayers only with their original characters? The stuff they were talking about isn't furry, it's therian/otherkin, which is where you actually identify as an animal.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or if it just doesn't matter and people can identify as furries and therian/otherkin.

Anyways, cool thread, and sorry you got so much hate on it.

Edit: I had a phase once that I probably won't talk about but I ended up making a tail (I just told everyone it was for Halloween and another event, and it was, but I felt attached to it and wore it to the mall once. I did get some stares but it was pretty fun at the time.
OP, are you familiar with the Teen Werewolves from San Antonio? Just curious.

Yeah, that's what I love about the furry fandom. It's not just a fandom of something some other group made; WE are the creators, and we're fans of each other, just because we can. The sense of community I felt at my first con was unlike anything I've ever felt.

I've heard of those. Sounds like furries with a focus on Twilight.
